A container contains 7 part milk  and 3 part water.How many parts of mixture should be taken out and replaced by water so that container contains half milk and half water?

Explanation:

Let the container contain 1 Litre of mixture

Milk=7/10

Water=3/10

Let x part of mixture is replaced then,

Milk=(7/10 – 7x/10)

Water=(3/10 – 3x/10)

If x part of water is again replaced by water then water content in the mixture

water=(3/10 – 3x/10+3)

7x/5=2/5

x=2/7

Therefore 2/7 part of the mixture is taken out
