JSCA inks a lease agreement with SAIL BSL for an international cricket stadium in Bokaro
- Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) signed a lease agreement with SAIL Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) for the construction of Jharkhand’s third international cricket stadium in Bokaro.
- Bokaro will become the third city in Jharkhand after Jamshedpur and Ranchi to feature in the international cricket map once the stadium is ready.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar inaugurates Asia’s longest high-speed track for automotive testing in Indore
- Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Prakash Javadekar inaugurated Asia’s longest (11.3 km) high-speed track, “NATRAX” (National Automotive Test Tracks), for automotive testing in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
- The NATRAX is also the fifth-largest high-speed track in the world. It has been designed for neutral speeds up to 250 kmph and a maximum speed of up to 375 kmph on curbs.

World Bank approves a $500 million program to protect India’s informal sector workers
- The World Bank has approved a $500 million program named “Creating a Coordinated and Responsive Indian Social Protection System” (CCRISP) to support India’s large informal workforce and create greater flexibility for states to cope with the ongoing pandemic, future climate and disaster shocks.

- State Bank of India (SBI), the oldest commercial bank in India, is celebrated its 66th year on 1 July 2021. SBI descends from the Bank of Calcutta, founded in 1806 through the Imperial Bank of India.
- The Bank of Madras was merged into the other two presidency banks, the Bank of Calcutta and the Bank of Bombay, to form the Imperial Bank of India, which in turn became the State Bank of India on this Day (1 July) in 1955.

- KV Sampath Kumar, editor of the world’s only Sanskrit daily ‘Sudharma’ passed away at the age of 64. He, along with his wife Vidushi KS Jayalakshm, was awarded the Padma Shri in 2020 for their contribution to the field of Literature & Education.

Shafali Verma becomes the youngest Indian cricketer to play in all three formats
- Shafali Verma became the youngest Indian cricketer to make her debut in all three formats (Test Cricket, ODIs and T20) after she was named in the playing XI for the first ODI against England. She became the fifth-youngest cricketer overall in the list of all format debuts.
- Afghanistan’s Mujeeb Ur Rahman (17 years and 78 days) is the youngest cricketer to debut across all formats followed by Sarah Taylor (England) and Ellyse Perry (Australia).
