- Union Government notified the Plastic Waste Management Amendment Rules 2021 that prohibits identified single- use plastic items by 2022.
- The manufacturing, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use of several single-use plastics will be prohibited with effect from 1 July 2022.
- The thickness of plastic carry bags was increased from 50 to 75 microns from 30 September 2021 and to 120 microns with effect from the 31 December 2022
India is on track to achieve 450 GW renewable energy target by 2030
- Union Minister of Power and New and Renewable Energy Raj Kumar Singh informed that India is on track to achieve its renewable energy target of 450 gigawatt (GW) by 2030 at the US– India Business Council (USIBC) meeting held virtually.
India’s 16th Census in 2021 is going to be completely digital
- The Union Home Ministry informed that India’s upcoming 2021 Census will be the first-ever digital Census in India.
- A Mobile app for the collection of data and a census portal for management and monitoring of various census-related activities have been developed.

- No collateral and no margin will be charged for loans up to Rs. 10 lakhs.
- No collateral should be charged and no lien should be marked against savings bank account of SHGs for loans above Rs. 10 lakhs and up to Rs. 20 lakhs.

- SEBI merged ILDS (Issue and Listing of Debt Securities) rules and NCRPS (Non-Convertible Redeemable Preference Shares) rules into a single regulation to be called SEBI (Issue and Listing of Non-Convertible Securities) Regulations.
