- World Civil Defence Day is observed annually on 01 March to raise awareness among individuals about the vital role of civil defence in disaster recovery and to encourage preparedness, avoidance and self-protection.

- President Ram Nath Kovind has inaugurated a hub of medicinal herbs and plants named ‘Arogya Vanam’ at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
- Arogya Vanam has been developed in a 6-acre area and it has 215 types of medicinal plants like neem, tulsi, bel, arand, arjun, ashwagandha and harsingar.

Gujarat’s Dudhala becomes the first village to be completely solarised by a foundation
- Goldi Solar, a global solar panel manufacturer and EPC services provider, in partnership with Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF), laid the foundation stone for the solarisation of the village of Dudhala in Gujarat.
- A 450-KW solar rooftop project will be used to power around 350 houses and public areas such as anganwadis and gram panchayat of the village.

- Bank of Maharashtra has partnered with Mahagram to roll out the ‘Bank Sakhi’ project in Odisha. Mahagram would provide financial technology and infrastructure support to augment rural financial inclusion.
- Under this partnership, Mahagram has onboarded more than 11,000 bank sakhis (women) on the Bharat ATM platform to help the rural citizens avail themselves of basic banking services at their doorsteps or the next-door Kirana stores.

- Ambit Finvest Private Limited (Ambit Finvest), the non-deposit taking Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) of the Ambit Group has signed a co-lending agreement with Union Bank of India (UBI) for lending to micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) customers.
- This partnership will ensure underwriting for originations, positively impacting the creditworthiness of MSMEs in 11 Indian states that are currently covered by Ambit Finvest.

Air Marshal S. Prabhakaran assumes charge of IAF’s Western Air Command
- Air Marshal Sreekumar Prabhakaran assumed command of the Indian Air Force’s Western Command headquartered in New Delhi.
- He is a graduate of the National Defence Academy, Pune and was commissioned into the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot on 22 December 1983. He is an experienced MiG-21 pilot and a category ‘A’ qualified flying instructor.

- Indian shooter Saurabh Chaudhary won the gold medal in the men’s 10 m air pistol event and India’s first gold medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup 2022 held in Cairo, Egypt.
- Esha Singh bagged the second medal for India after she won the silver medal in the women’s 10 m air pistol event.
Vietnam is set to host the thirty-first Southeast Asian Games in 2022
- Vietnam is set to host the thirty-first Southeast Asian Games from 12 May 2022 to 23 May 2022. The Southeast Asian Games will feature 40 sports with 526 events, attracting around 10,000 participants.
- This biennial event was originally scheduled to take place in November 2021 and was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam.
Pooja Jatyan wins the silver medal at the 2022 World Archery Para Championships
- Indian para-archer Pooja Jatyan won the silver medal in the recurve individual event at the 2022 Para World Championships held in Dubai, UAE. Vincenza Petrilli of Italy won the gold medal in recurve individual event.
- Pooja Jatyan became the first Indian to win a silver medal in the recurve individual event in the Para World Championships.

- India’s Sadia Tariq won the gold medal at the 2022 Moscow Wushu Stars Championship held in Moscow, Russia.
