MISSION INDRADHANUSH

Dear Bankers daily Aspirants,

There are lots of healthy India campaigns introduced in our country. Namely Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Mission Indradhanush,Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan-PMSMA, Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), AMRIT, Pradhan Mantri Dialysis Program, New Health Protection Scheme, International Yoga Day. Among this we will have a quick view about MISSION INDRADHANUSH. It’s a mission that will help us to cover all those children who have been partially vaccinated or not vaccinated during routine immunization Rounds.

Aim:

The objective of Mission Indradhanush is to increase full immunization coverage in India to at least 90% children by 2020.

Intensified mission Indradhanush:

In order to achieve this ambitious Intensification of mission Indradhanush Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 6, 2017 launched this mission in 170 districts including 52 districts in north-eastern states and 17 urban areas in our country.

He introduced some new vaccines during his launch of mission Indradhanush. They are given below:

  1. Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV)
  2. tOPV to bOPV switch
  3. Rotavirus Vaccine
  4. Rubella vaccine as Measles Rubella (MR) vaccine
  5. Adult JE vaccine
  6. Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV)

Paths crossed by Mission Indradhanush:

Four Rounds have been implemented so far:

  • The first two phase of mission led to an increase of 6.7% as per the report of Integrated Child Health & Immunization Survey (INCHIS).
  • A total of 528 districts have been covered in the four phases of Mission Indradhanush. During the three phases and ongoing fourth phase of Mission Indradhanush, as on 22nd August 2017, around 2.53 crore children were reached of which 66.16 lakhs children were fully immunized. Further, 68.43 lakhs pregnant women were also vaccinated with Tetanus Toxoid.

RASHTRIYA BAL SWASTHYA KARYAKRAM (RBSK)

  • This initiative launched in February 2013 entails provision for Child Health Screening and Early Intervention Services through early detection and management of 4 Ds i.e. Defects at birth, Diseases, Deficiencies, Development delays including disability and free management of 30 identified health conditions including surgery at tertiary health facilities. Children between 0-18 years of age are expected to be covered in a phased manner across the country. About 59.2 Crore children have been screened under this programme, till February 2017.
