Nitin Gadkari Inaugurated Inland Ferry Services in Goa
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Shri Nitin Gadkari today inaugurated the Inland ferry services in the port city of Vasco in Goa.
The central government has so far provided Rs 15,000 crore for development of roads in Goa.
He assured that Goa will receive all the funds required for the development projects under ‘Sagarmala’.

Andhra Government launches NAIPUNYA RATHAM or World on Wheels
The Andhra Pradesh Government launched, NAIPUNYA RATHAM or World on Wheels, a multi-utility vehicle which aims to bring technology to the remote corners. The Government will roll out 12 more Naipunya Rathams by May this year.
As part of the Smart village Smart Ward Programme, the Naipunya Rathaams will facilitate and look to improve digital literacy, digital skills and create an awareness on various government schemes that are underway in the new state of Andhra Pradesh.

Meghalaya: World’s longest sandstone cave found
The world’s longest sandstone cave at 24,583 metres in length has been discovered in Meghalaya.
The cave named Krem Puri discovered near the village of Laitsohum in Mawsynram area of East Khasi Hills district.
This underground cavern is more than 6,000 metres longer than the world record-holder, the Cueva Del Saman in Edo Zulia, Venezuela.

ISRO Ties Up with BHEL
ISRO has entered into a Technology Transfer Agreement (TTA) with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), which is one of the country’s leading PSUs.
The tie up is to transfer the technology for the manufacture of space grade Li-Ion cells.
The TTA was signed at ISRO Headquarters, Bengaluru by Dr. K. Sivan, Chairman, ISRO and Mr. Atul Sobti, Chairman & Managing Director, BHEL.
Three day International Yoga fest held begins in New Delhi
A three-day International Yoga Fest was inaugurated by Union minister Jitendra Singh as a curtain raiser for the International Yoga Day (IYD) to be held on June 21.
Further, the ministry has shortlisted four cities — Jaipur, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Mysore — for holding the main function of International Yoga Day this year.
Brahmos supersonic successfully test fired in Rajasthan
The BrahMos was successfully test fired from Rajasthan’s Pokhran test range.It is test fired for the first time from a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet.
BrahMos is a supersonic cruise missile developed in a joint-venture between India and Russia.
Cruise missiles fly within the earth’s atmosphere and use a variety of propulsion methods.

Allahabad bank Combines ABFL
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has allowed the amalgamation of State-run Allahabad Bank’s wholly own subsidiary – All Bank Finance Ltd (ABFL)-with the bank.
The Board of the company had decided to surrender its NBFC (non banking finance company) licence in 2005.
It had also surrendered its merchant banking licence to market regulator Sebi.

Swiggy Partners with ICICI Bank
Swiggy, online food ordering and delivery platform has partnered with ICICI Bank.
It is to bring two innovative digital solutions to facilitate a convenient fund transfers.
This includes a Unified Payment Interface (UPI) based solution for instant fund transfers on-the-go and an option for facilitating cash deposits at automated Cash Deposit Machines (CDM).

John Bolton to be new National Security Adviser to Trump
John R. Bolton, former American ambassador to the United Nations has been appointed as third national security adviser.
He will replace Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster.
The president replaced Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson last week with the C.I.A. director, Mike Pompeo, a former Army officer.
HS Prannoy regains world no 12 in latest badminton rankings
The world badminton governing body, BWF released the latest badminton rankings. Indian shuttler HS Prannoy jumped four places to regain his world number 12 spot.
Second-ranked Kidambi Srikanth narrowed his gap with world no 1 Viktor Axelsen. P V Sindhu is at the third sport.
Saina Nehwal, who was ousted on the opening day of All England, remains static at the 12th spot.Sai Praneeth slips to 15th spot.
Elavenil Valarivan Wins Gold in Junior ISSF World Cup
Indian shooter Elavenil Valarivan shattered the world record and claimed the gold medal in 10m women’s air rifle event of the season’s first junior ISSF World Cup.
Elavenil also combined with Shreya Agrawal and Zeena Khitta to claim the team gold medal.
Arjun Babuta bagged his second junior world cup medal, claiming a bronze in men’s 10m air rifle event.

Pulitzer Prize Winner Les Payne Passed Away
Les Payne, a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, columnist and editor of Newsday passed away. He hails from America.
He was on the reportorial team that won a Pulitzer for public service in 1974.
