1. International Women’s day celebrated on 8 March 2021

• United Nations recognised this day and started celebrating it as International Women’s Day from 1977, and the world celebrates womanhood each year on March 8 as International Women’s Day.
• The theme of International Women’s Day 2021 is “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”.
• Campaign theme for International Women’s Day 2021 is ChooseToChallenge.

1. சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினம் 8 மார்ச் 2021 அன்று கொண்டாடப்பட்டது

• ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை 1977 ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்த தினத்தை அங்கீகரித்து, முதல் சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினமாக கொண்டாடத் தொடங்கியது. அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து, ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மார்ச் 8ஆம் தேதி உலக மகளிர் தினத்தை சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினமாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
• 2021 சர்வதேச பெண்கள் தினத்தின் கருப்பொருள் “தலைமைத்துவத்தில் பெண்கள்: கோவிட்-19 உலகில் சமமான எதிர்காலத்தை அடைதல்“.
• மேலும் 2021 சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினத்திற்கான பிரச்சார கருப்பொருள்: சவாலைதேர்ந்தெடு.

2. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate ‘Maitri Setu’ between India and Bangladesh

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate ‘Maitri Setu’ between India and Bangladesh on 9 March 2021 through video conferencing. The name ‘Maitri Setu’ symbolises growing bilateral relations and friendly ties between India and Bangladesh.
• The Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple infrastructure projects in Tripura during the event.
• The bridge ‘Maitri Setu’ has been built over the Feni river, which flows between Indian boundary in Tripura and Bangladesh.
• The construction was taken up by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. at a project cost of Rs. 133 Crores. Tripura is set to become the ‘Gateway of Northeast’ with access to Chittagong Port of Bangladesh with the inauguration of this project.

2. பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி இந்தியா– வங்கதேசம் இடையே ‘மைத்ரி சேது‘ திட்டத்தை துவக்கி வைக்க உள்ளார்.

• பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி, இந்தியா மற்றும் வங்கதேசத்துக்கு இடையே ‘மைத்ரி சேது’ திட்டத்தை 9 மார்ச் 2021 அன்று காணொலிக் காட்சியின் மூலம் துவக்கி வைக்கிறார். ‘மைத்ரி சேது’ என்பது இந்தியா மற்றும் பங்களாதேஷ் இடையே வளர்ந்து வரும் இருதரப்பு உறவுகள் மற்றும் நட்புறவை அடையாளப்படுத்துகிறது.
• இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியின் போது திரிபுராவில் பல்வேறு உள்கட்டமைப்பு திட்டங்களுக்கு பிரதமர் அடிக்கல் நாட்டுகிறார்.
• திரிபுரா மாநிலத்தில் இந்திய எல்லைகளுக்கு இடையே பாயும் ஃபெனி ஆற்றின் மீது ‘மைத்ரி சேது’ பாலம் கட்டப்பட உள்ளது.
• ரூ.133 கோடி திட்டச்செலவில் தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலை மற்றும் உள்கட்டமைப்பு மேம்பாட்டுக்கழகத்தால் இந்த கட்டுமானப் பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட உள்ளன. இந்த திட்டத்தின் மூலம் திரிபுரா, வங்கதேசத்தின் சிட்டகாங் துறைமுகத்தை அணுகுவதற்கான ‘வடகிழக்கு நுழைவாயில்’ ஆக மாற உள்ளது.

3. Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare signed MoU with Central Silk Board

• The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has signed an MoU with the Central Silk Board, under the Ministry of Textiles, on a convergence model for the implementation of Agroforestry in the silk sector under the ongoing Sub-Mission on Agroforestry (SMAF) Scheme.
• It aims to incentivize the farmers to take up sericulture based Agroforestry models, thereby contributing to the Make in India and Make for the World vision of the Prime Minister.
• SMAF aims to encourage farmers to plant multi-purpose trees together with the agriculture crops for climate resilience and an additional source of income to the farmers.

3. மத்திய பட்டு வாரியத்துடன் வேளாண்மை மற்றும் விவசாயிகள் நல அமைச்சகம் புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தம்

• இத்திட்டம் விவசாயிகளை, பட்டு வளர்ப்பு அடிப்படையிலான வேளாண் காடுகள் மாதிரிகளை உருவாக்குவதன் மூலம், பிரதமரின் தொலைநோக்குப் பார்வைகளான, மேக் இன் இந்தியா மற்றும் மேக் ஃபார் வோர்ல்ட் ஆகிய நோக்கங்களை அடைய உதவும்.
• வேளாண் காடுவளர்ப்புக்கான துணை செயல் திட்டம், விவசாயிகளை வேளாண் பயிர்களுடன் சேர்ந்து காலநிலை மீளுருவாக்கம் மற்றும் விவசாயிகளுக்கு கூடுதல் வருமான ஆதாரமாக நடவு செய்வதை ஊக்குவிப்பதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.

4. United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) released the Food Waste Index Report 2021

• The Food Waste Index Report 2021, from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and partner organisation WRAP, said that around 931 million tonnes of food waste was generated in 2019.
• sixty-one per cent of food waste comes from households, 26 per cent from foodservice and 13 per cent from retail, which suggests that 17 per cent of total global food production may be wasted.
• In India, the household food waste estimate is 50 kg per capita per year, or 68,760,163 tonnes a year.

4. ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சுற்றுச்சூழல் திட்டம் (யுஎன்இபி) உணவு வீணாதல் பட்டியல் அறிக்கை 2021ஐ வெளியிட்டுள்ளது

• 2019 ஆம் ஆண்டில், சுமார் 931 மில்லியன் டன் உணவு வீணாக்கப்பட்டிருப்பதாக ஐ.நா சுற்றுச்சூழல் திட்டம் (யுஎன்இபி) மற்றும் ராப் அமைப்பு உணவு வீணாதல் பட்டியல் அறிக்கை 2021ல் தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
• உணவு, 26 % உணவு மையங்களிலிருந்தும், 13 % சில்லறை விற்பனையிலிருந்தும் வீணாகுவதாகவும், இது மொத்த உலக உணவு உற்பத்தியில் 17 சதவீதம் எனவும் கணக்கிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• இந்தியாவில் உணவு வீணாதல் மதிப்பீடு, ஆண்டுக்கு 50 கிலோ அல்லது ஆண்டுக்கு 68,760,163 டன் ஆகும்.

5. India’s first ‘Transgender Community Desk’ opened in Gachibowli police station of Telangana

• The Cyberabad Police launched India’s first-ever transgender Community Desk’ at the Gachibowli Police Station in Hyderabad, Telangana. The desk was formally inaugurated by Cyberabad Police chief V C Sajjanar in a ceremony that was attended by over 200 transgender people.
• It will be the focal point for all grievance redressal among the transgender community in Cyberabad Commissionerate.
• The desk will support file cases in offences related to violence or discrimination against any transgender person.

5. இந்தியாவின் முதல் ‘திருநங்கையர் சேவை மையம்‘ தெலுங்கானாவின் கச்சிபௌலி காவல் நிலையத்தில் துவங்கப்பட்டது

• தெலுங்கானா மாநிலம், ஐதராபாத்தில் உள்ள கச்சிபௌலி காவல் நிலையத்தில் இந்தியாவின் முதல் ‘திருநங்கை சேவை மையம்’ யை சைபராபாத் போலீஸ் அறிமுகப்படுத்தி உள்ளது.200க்கும் மேற்பட்ட திருநங்கைகள் கலந்து கொண்ட விழாவில், சைபராபாத் போலீஸ் அதிகாரி விசி சஜ்ஜனார் இந்த சேவை மையத்தை திறந்து வைத்தார்.
• இது, சைபராபாத் ஆணைய அலுவலகத்தில் உள்ள திருநங்கைகளின் குறைதீர்க்கும் மையமாக அமைகிறது.
• திருநங்கைகளுக்கு எதிராக வன்முறை அல்லது பாகுபாடு தொடர்பான குற்றங்களுக்காக வழக்குகளை பதிவு செய்வதற்கு இந்த மையம் உதவும்.

6. Amazon India partnered with UN Women to launch storefront for women sellers

• Amazon India partnered with UN Women to launch a special storefront for women-owned small businesses ahead of International Women’s Day (March 8).
• The IWD Storefront was inaugurated by Country Representative, UN Women India, Susan Ferguson, in the presence of the Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Textiles Smriti Zubin Irani at a virtual event.
• The event was held under the theme “Challenge. Champion. Change.”

6. அமேசான் இந்தியா ஐ.நா. பெண்கள் அமைப்புடன் இணைந்து பெண்களுக்கான அங்காடியை துவக்கி வைத்தது

• சர்வதேச மகளிர் தினத்திற்கு (மார்ச் 8) முன்னதாக பெண் விற்பனையாளர்களுக்கு சிறு வணிகங்களுக்கான சிறப்பு அங்காடியைத் தொடங்க அமேசான் இந்தியா ஐ.நா. பெண்கள் அமைப்புடன் இணைந்தது.
• மெய்நிகர் நிகழ்வில், மத்திய மகளிர் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் மேம்பாட்டு மற்றும் ஜவுளித்துறை அமைச்சர் ஸ்மிருதி ஜூபின் இரானி முன்னிலையில், சர்வதேச மகளிர் தின அங்காடியை ஐ.நா. பெண்கள் அமைப்பின் இந்திய பிரதிநிதி சூசன் பெர்குசன் திறந்து வைத்தார்.

7. Senior IAS officer Arun Kumar Singh appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Bihar

• IAS officer Arun Kumar Singh is the new Chief Secretary (CS) to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He replaced Deepak Kumar, who retired recently.
• Deepak, has now been appointed afresh, the principal secretary to CM Nitish Kumar.
• Amir Subhani was appointed as development commissioner in place of Arun Kumar Singh.

7. பீகாரின் புதிய தலைமைச் செயலாளராக மூத்த ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் அதிகாரி அருண் குமார் சிங் நியமனம்

• ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் அதிகாரி அருண் குமார் சிங் முதலமைச்சர் நிதீஷ் குமாரின் புதிய தலைமைச் செயலாளராக (சிஎஸ்) தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.சமீபத்தில் ஓய்வு பெற்ற தீபக் குமாருக்கு பதிலாக அவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.
• தீபக் குமார் தற்போது முதல்வர் நிதீஷ் குமாரின் முதன்மைச் செயலாளராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
• அருண் குமார்சிங்கிற்கு பதிலாக, அமீர் சுபானி அவர்கள் மேம்பாட்டு ஆணையராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

8. Veteran Indian athlete Ishar Singh Deol passed away

• Veteran Indian athlete Ishar Singh Deol passed away on Saturday, March 6, at the age of 91.
• Deol represented the state and the country since 1951, and was awarded several honours, including Dhyan Chand National Award in 2009, for his outstanding contribution towards sports.
• He served as the General Secretary of Punjab Athletes Association for 30 consecutive years and as the Vice-President of the Athletic Federation of India.

8. மூத்த இந்திய தடகள இஷார் சிங் தியோல் காலமானார்

• மூத்த இந்திய தடகள வீரர் இஷார் சிங் தியோல் மார்ச் 6, சனிக்கிழமை தனது 91 வயதில் காலமானார்.
• தியோல் 1951 முதல் தனது மாநிலத்திற்காகவும் நாட்டிற்காகவும் விளையாடியுள்ளார். மேலும், 2009 ஆம் ஆண்டில் தியான் சந்த் தேசிய விருது உட்பட பல கௌரவ விருதுகள் அவருக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.
• தொடர்ந்து 30 ஆண்டுகள் பஞ்சாப் தடகள சங்கத்தின் பொதுச் செயலாளராகவும், இந்திய தடகள கூட்டமைப்பின் துணைத் தலைவராகவும் பணியாற்றினார்.

9. Launch of GISAT-1 satellite set for March 28

• GISAT-1 is planned to be launched into space by GSLV-F10 rocket from the Sriharikota spaceport in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district.
• The satellite will allow the country to monitor the Indian landmass and the oceans, particularly its borders, continuously and would help in quick monitoring of natural disasters, episodic and any short-term events.
• It is also expected to obtain spectral signatures of agriculture, forestry, mineralogy, disaster warning, cloud properties, snow and glacier and oceanography.
