1. Directorate of Tourism organised Shikara Rally of over 50 boats in Dal Lake as part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav

• A Shikara Rally of over 50 boats was organised in the Dal Lake at Srinagar by the Directorate of Tourism as a part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav celebrations marking the 75^th anniversary of India’s Independence. The rally was flagged off by the Director of Tourism Department at Kashmir International Convention Centre.

• In Gulf countries, 14 April is the first day of Ramzan.

4. NHAI decided to deploy NSV to enhance the quality of National Highways

• National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has decided to deploy Network Survey Vehicle (NSV) to enhance the quality of the National Highways in India. Carrying out the road condition survey using NSV on the National Highways has been made mandatory at the time of certifying completion of the project and every six months thereafter.
• NSV uses the latest survey techniques including high-resolution digital camera and Laser Road Profilometer for measurement of distresses in road surface.
• The data collected through NSV survey will be uploaded on NHAI’s portal Data Lake, where it will be analysed by Road Asset Management Cell to assess the condition and roughness of the road to prioritise for the maintenance.

• சாலை மேற்பரப்பில் உள்ள பிரச்சனைகளை அளவிடுவதற்கு உயர் தெளிவுத்திறன் கொண்ட டிஜிட்டல் கேமரா மற்றும் லேசர் சாலை புரோபிலோமீட்டர் உள்ளிட்ட சமீபத்திய கணக்கெடுப்பு நுட்பங்களை NSV பயன்படுத்துவதால் நெடுஞ்சாலைகளின் ஒட்டுமொத்த தரத்தை மேம்படுத்த இந்த தரப்படுத்தல் உதவும்.
• NSV கணக்கெடுப்பின் மூலம் சேகரிக்கப்பட்ட தகவல்கள் NHAIஇன் வளைத்தளமான டேட்டா லேக்கில் பதிவேற்றப்படும், அங்கு பராமரிப்புக்கு முன்னுரிமை அளிக்க சாலையின் கடினத்தன்மை சாலை மேலாண்மை கழகத்தால் பகுப்பாய்வு செய்யப்படும்.

5. President appointed Sushil Chandra as the Chief Election Commissioner of India

• President Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Sushil Chandra, the senior-most Election Commissioner, as the 24^th Chief Election Commissioner of India. He will succeed Sunil Arora.
• Before his appointment to the Election Commission, he was the chairman of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

5. இந்தியாவின் தலைமைத் தேர்தல் ஆணையராக சுஷில் சந்திராவை குடியரசுத் தலைவர் நியமித்துள்ளார்

• குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ராம் நாத் கோவிந்த், மூத்த தேர்தல் ஆணையரான சுஷில் சந்திராவை இந்தியாவின் 24வது தலைமைத் தேர்தல் ஆணையராக நியமித்துள்ளார். சுனில் அரோராவுக்குப் பிறகு சுஷில் சந்திரா தலைமைத் தேர்தல் ஆணையராக பொறுப்பேற்றார்.
• அவர் தேர்தல் ஆணையத்தில் நியமிக்கப்படுவதற்கு முன்பு, மத்திய நேரடி வரி வாரியத்தின் (CBDT) தலைவராக இருந்தார்.

6. NITI Aayog launched ‘Poshan Gyan’, which is a digital repository on health and nutrition

• NITI Aayog, in partnership with Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Centre for Social and Behaviour Change, Ashoka University launched ‘Poshan Gyan’, a national digital repository on health and nutrition.
• Poshan Gyan repository was conceptualised as a resource, enabling search of communication materials on 14 thematic areas of health and nutrition.

6. நிதி ஆயோக் உடல்நலம், ஊட்டச்சத்து குறித்த டிஜிட்டல் களஞ்சியமான ‘போஷன் ஞான்‘ ஐ அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது

7. Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s 130^th birth anniversary is celebrated on 14 April

• Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s 130^th birth anniversary is celebrated on 14 April. He was a jurist, economist, politician, and social reformer who worked hard throughout his life to end social discrimination against the weaker sections of the society.
• He became the first Law and Justice Minister after independence and played an important role in drafting the Indian Constitution. Dr. Ambedkar was bestowed with the country’s highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna in 1990 posthumously.
• Mook Nayak (leader of the dumb) was the journal to articulate his views and the Bahishkrit Hitakarini Sabha (Association for the welfare of excluded) spearheaded his activities. He launched the ‘Mahad Satyagraha’ to establish the civic right of the untouchables to public tanks and wells. Ambedkar launched two political parties. The first one was the Independent Labour party in 1937 and the second Scheduled Caste Federation in 1942.

• பாபாசாஹிப் டாக்டர் பீமாராவ் அம்பேத்கரின் 130வது பிறந்தநாள் 14 ஏப்ரல் அன்று கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. சட்டவியலாளர், பொருளாதார நிபுணர், அரசியல்வாதி மற்றும் சமூக சீர்திருத்தவாதியான டாக்டர் அம்பேத்கர் சமூகத்தின் பலவீனமான பிரிவினருக்கு எதிரான சமூக பாகுபாட்டை முடிவுக்குக் கொண்டுவர தனது வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் கடுமையாக உழைத்தார்.

• மூக்நாயக் (வாய்பேச முடியாதவர்களின் தலைவர்) என்ற பத்திரிக்கையை தனது கருத்துகளை வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்காகவும் பஹிஷ்கிரித் ஹிடாகரினி சபை (தனித்துவிடப்பட்டவர்களின் நலனுக்கான அமைப்பு) என்ற அமைப்பைத் தனது செயல்பாடுகளுக்காகவும் அவர் தொடங்கினார். ஊருணிகள் மற்றும் கிணறுகளில் தீண்டாமை கொடுமைக்கு உள்ளாக்கப்பட்ட மக்களுக்கு தரவேண்டிய அடிப்படை உரிமைகளை மீட்டுத்தர ‘மஹத் சத்தியாகிரகம்’ என்ற அமைப்பைத் தொடங்கினார். 1937இல் சுதந்திர தொழிலாளர் கட்சி மற்றும் 1942இல் பட்டியல் இனத்தவர் கூட்டமைப்பு என அம்பேத்கர் இரண்டு கட்சிகளை தொடங்கினார்.

8. 77^th anniversary of Flag Hoisting Day was observed at INA Martyr’s Memorial Complex at Moirang of Manipur

• The 77^th Anniversary of Flag Hoisting Day was observed on 14 April at INA Martyr’s Memorial Complex at Moirang of Manipur with Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh unfurling the Indian Tricolour Flag.
• It was on 14 April 1944 that the flag of the Indian National Army was hoisted for the first time on the Indian soil at Moirang.

8. கொடியேற்றும் தினத்தின் 77வது ஆண்டுவிழா மணிப்பூரின் மொய்ராங்கில் உள்ள INA தியாகிகள் நினைவு வளாகத்தில் அனுசரிக்கப்பட்டது

• மணிப்பூர் முதலமைச்சர் என்.பிரென் சிங் மொய்ராங்கில் உள்ள INA தியாகிகள் நினைவு வளாகத்தில் இந்திய முவர்ணக் கொடியேற்றி, கொடியேற்றும் தினத்தின் 77வது ஆண்டுவிழாவைக் கொண்டாடினார்.
• 14 ஏப்ரல் 1944இல் இந்திய மண்ணில் இந்திய தேசிய இராணுவத்தின் கொடி முதன்முறையாக மொய்ராங்கில் ஏற்றப்பட்டது.

9. International Turban Day – 13 April

• The International Turban Day is celebrated every year on 13 April since 2004. The turban refers to the garment worn by both men and some women to cover their heads.
• It aims to bring awareness of the strict requirement of Sikhs to put the turban as a mandatory part of their religion.
• The 2021 Turban Day marks the 552^nd birth anniversary of Guru Nanak and the festival of Baisakhi.

9. சர்வதேச தலைப்பாகை தினம் – 13 ஏப்ரல்

• சர்வதேச தலைப்பாகை தினம் 2004 முதல் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 13 ஏப்ரல் அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. தலைப்பாகை என்பது ஆண்களும் சில பெண்களும் தங்கள் தலையை மறைக்க அணியும் ஆடையைக் குறிக்கிறது.
• சீக்கியர்கள் தலைப்பாகையை தங்கள் மதத்தின் கட்டாய அணிகலனாக வைக்க வேண்டும் என்ற கடுமையான தேவை குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை கொண்டு வருவதை இது நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
• 2021 தலைப்பாகை தினம் குருநானக்கின் 552 வது பிறந்த நாள் மற்றும் பைசாகி திருவிழாவைக் குறிக்கிறது.

10. Jallianwala Bagh Massacre – 13 April

• On 13 April 1919, more than two thousand people had assembled at the venue to peacefully protest against the arrest of their leaders Satyapal and Saifuddin Kitchlew.
• Michael O’Dwyer was the Lt. Governor of Punjab, and the military commander was General Reginald Dyer. Dyer ordered firing on the trapped crowd with machine guns and rifles till the ammunition was exhausted.

10. ஜாலியன்வாலாபாக் படுகொலை–13 ஏப்ரல்

• 13 ஏப்ரல் 1919இல், அமிர்தசரஸ் நகரில் ஜாலியன்வாலாபாக் பகுதியில் சத்தியபால், சாய்புதீன் கிச்லு ஆகியோரைக் கைது செய்ததற்கு எதிர்ப்புத் தெரிவித்து அமைதியான வகையில் ஆர்ப்பாட்டம் நடத்துவதற்காக இரண்டாயிரத்துக்கும் அதிகமான மக்கள் போராட்டக்களத்தில் குழுமியிருந்தனர்.
• அப்போது பஞ்சாபின் துணைநிலை ஆளுநராக மைக்கேல் ஓ டையரும், ராணுவக் தளபதியாக ஜெனரல் ரெஜினால்டு டையரும் பதவி வகித்தனர். அங்கு சிக்கிக்கொண்ட மக்களைக் குறிவைத்து எந்திரத் துப்பாக்கிகளில் குண்டுகள் தீரும் வரை சுடுமாறு ஜெனரல் டையர் உத்தரவிட்டார்.
