1. Tamil Nadu Minister Shekhar Babu launches a scheme to preserve ancient documents and files relating to temples digitally

• Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister Sekar Babu launched a scheme to digitally preserve the ancient documents and files of the temples of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.
• Under this scheme, the old files in the Office of the Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments can be maintained in a way that is not ruined over time. This scheme will be expanded and implemented in a phased manner to preserve the long-term files in subordinate offices of HRCE Department.

• வண்டலூர் உயிரியல் பூங்காவில் உள்ள 13 ஆசிய சிங்கங்கள் கோவிட்-19ஆல் பாதிக்கப்பட்டன. அவற்றில் நீலா என்னும் பெண் சிங்கம் கோவிட்-19ஆல் பாதிக்கப்பட்டு இறந்தது.

3. DBT-NII receives trademark for India’s first indigenous tumour antigen SPAG9

• DBT-NII (Department of Bio-Technology, National Institute of Immunology) received a trademark for India’s first indigenous tumour antigen SPAG9. SPAG9 was discovered by Anil Suri in 1998, who heads the Cancer Research Program at NII (National Institute of Immunology). The SPAG9 antigen has received the trademark ASPAGNIITM.
• ASPAGNIITM is used in dendritic cell (DC) based immunotherapy in cervical, ovarian cancer and will also be used in breast cancer.

3. DBT-NII இந்தியாவின் முதல் உள்நாட்டு கேன்சர் நோய் எதிர்ப்பு ஊக்கியான SPAG9க்கான வணிகக் குறியீட்டைப் பெற்றுள்ளது

4. NTPC joins United Nations’ CEO Water mandate

• India’s largest power utility under the Union Ministry of Power, NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) has become a signatory to the prestigious United Nations’ Global Compact’s CEO Water Mandate. The mandate aims to step up work on water conservation with reduce, reuse and recycle.
• The CEO Water Mandate is a United Nations’ Global Compact initiative to demonstrate the commitment and efforts of companies to better their water and sanitation agendas as part of long-term Sustainable Development Goals.

4. தேசிய அனல் மின் நிலையம் ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் சிஇஓ நீர் ஆணையில் இணைந்துள்ளது

• மத்திய மின் அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் இயங்கும் இந்தியாவின் மிகப்பெரிய மின் பயன்பாடான தேசிய அனல் மின் நிலையம் (NTPC), மதிப்புமிக்க ஐ.நா குளோபல் காம்பாக்ட்டின் சிஇஓ நீர் ஆணையில் கையெழுத்திட்டுள்ளது. நீர் சேமிப்புக்கான பணிகளை குறைத்தல், மறுபயன்பாடு மற்றும் மறுசுழற்சி மூலம் முடுக்கிவிடுவதை இந்த ஆணை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.

5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi releases elaborative roadmap for the development of the Ethanol sector

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released an elaborative roadmap for the development of the Ethanol sector on World Environment Day. He also launched an E100 pilot project in Pune that is related to the distribution of Ethanol.
• The National Policy of Biofuel 2018, has the objective of ethanol-blending of 20% and biodiesel-blending of 5% in biofuel by 2030.

7. Indian Government declares one-day state mourning in India over the demise of ex-Mauritius President Anerood Jugnauth

• The Government of India has announced one-day state mourning in India over the demise of Indian-origin ex-Mauritius President Anerood Jugnauth on 3 May. During state mourning, the Indian National Flag will be flown at half-mast throughout India on all buildings where the National Flag is flown regularly and there will be no official entertainment on the day.
• Anerood Jugnauth served as the 4^th President of Mauritius from October 2003 to March 2012. He was the Prime Minister of Mauritius from June 1982 to December 1995, from September 2000 to October 2003 and from December 2014 to January 2017. He was honoured by India with the Padma Vibhushan and the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman. He was the principal architect of India’s special friendship with Mauritius.

8. Ladakh Lieutenant Governor launches YounTab scheme for students to encourage digital learning

• Ladakh Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur has launched the YounTab scheme that provides Tablets for students in the Ladakh Union Territory. YounTab scheme was formulated to encourage digital learning, bridge the digital divide between connected and unconnected and mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic disruptions.
• A total of 12,300 students of classes 6 to 12 from government schools will receive tablets as a part of the scheme. The students of the classes 9 to 12 class have received tablets as part of the first phase of the YounTab Scheme.

8. லடாக் துணைநிலை ஆளுனர் டிஜிட்டல் கற்றலை ஊக்குவிக்க மாணவர்களுக்கு யூன்டாப் (YounTab) திட்டத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்துள்ளார்

• லடாக் யூனியன் பிரதேசத்தில் மாணவர்களுக்கான டேப்லட்(Tablet) வழங்கும் யூன்டாப் (YounTab) திட்டத்தை லடாக் துணைநிலை ஆளுநர் ஆர். கே. மாத்தூர் தொடங்கி வைத்தார். டிஜிட்டல் கற்றலை ஊக்குவிக்கவும், இணைக்கப்பட்ட மற்றும் இணைக்கப்படாத டிஜிட்டல் பிளவை குறைக்கவும், கோவிட்-19 தொற்றுநோய் இடையூறுகளை குறைக்கவும் யூன்டாப் திட்டம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.
• இத்திட்டத்தின் மூலம் அரசுப் பள்ளிகளில், 6 முதல் 12ஆம் வகுப்புகள் வரை உள்ள மொத்தம் 12,300 மாணவர்கள் பயன் பெறுவார்கள். யூன்டாப் திட்டத்தின் முதல் கட்டமாக 9 முதல் 12ஆம் வகுப்புகள் வரை உள்ள மாணவர்கள் டேப்லட்களைப் (Tablet) பெற்றனர்.

9. World Environment Day – 5 June

• World Environment Day is observed on 5 June every year. This Day is organised by the United Nations to generate awareness about the significance of nature.

• The United Nations General Assembly established the World Environment Day in 1972, which was the first day of the Stockholm Conference on the Human Environment. Pakistan hosts World Environment Day 2021.
• 2021 Theme: ‘Ecosystem Restoration’
• World Health Organization (WHO) has joined the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (202–2030), a global mission to revive billions of hectares, from forests to farmlands, from the top of mountains to the depth of the sea, that was launched on World Environment Day 2021. WHO will work as a collaborating agency in this ecosystem restoration programme along with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

9. உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தினம் – 5 ஜூன்

• உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 5 ஜூன் அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. இயற்கையின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காக ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் பொது சபையால் இந்த தினம் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை 1972இல் மனித சுற்றுச்சூழல் குறித்த ஸ்டாக்ஹோம் மாநாட்டின் முதல் நாளில் உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தினத்தை நிறுவியது. பாகிஸ்தான் இந்த ஆண்டு உலக சுற்றுச்சூழல் தினம் 2021ஐ தொகுத்து வழங்குகிறது.
• 2021 கருப்பொருள்: ‘சுற்றுச்சூழல் மறுசீரமைப்பு‘
