Bureau if Indian Standards (BIS), which is a statutory body under the administrative control of Ministry of Consumer Affairs , Food and Public Distribution which comes under the Government of India. BIS is the national Standards Body of India which is responsible for the activities in the field of Standardization, Product and System Certification , hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery , Laboratory Testing, etc.
BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) has released the notification for the post of Scientists – “B” from bright , young dynamic persons/aspirants.
Pay Level : Pay Level 10 – (As per the Seventh Central Pay Commission) + Allowances
Gross Salary: Rs. 79, 929/- (This gross Salary will be applicable only if the aspirant is get placed in New Delhi)

Educational Qualification :
1. For the Following departments
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Food Technology
- Textile Engineering & Fibre Sciences
Qualification :
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or Equivalent in concerned Discipline with not less than 60% marks in aggregate.
- 50 % for SC/ST Candidates.
2. For Microbiology Department :
- Master’s Degree or equivalent with not less than 60 % marks in aggregate
- 50% marks for SC /ST candidates
