The seventh India International Science Festival 2021 is set to be held in Goa
- The seventh India International Science Festival 2021, to be held in Goa’s Panaji from 10–13 December 2021, will be organised by the Union Ministry of Earth Sciences in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Science and Technology, the Department of Atomic Energy, the Department of Space and the Government of Goa.
- The first India International Science Festival was held in New Delhi in 2015.

South Korea is set to get its world’s first floating city by 2025
- The world’s first floating city, which will be built off the coast of South Korea, is likely to be completed as early as 2025.
- An MoU was signed between the UN-Habitat, Republic of Korea and Oceanix to build a full-fledged floating city near the banks of Busan that can withstand floods, tsunamis and level 5 hurricanes.
- The city’s first appearance will be revealed in April 2022, with the final appearance projected in 2025. The city concept was first proposed in 2019 and addressed at a United Nations roundtable discussion in April 2019.

- DBS Bank India has introduced a paperless trade financing solution for buyers and sellers to finance domestic invoicing.
- It now digitally validates the e-way bills (proof of movement of goods) to establish the genuineness of underlying trade transactions.
- The adoption of this approach has enabled DBS Bank to process transactions quicker without the need to obtain underlying physical documents.
- DBS Bank also completed its first paperless domestic trade finance transaction with Lincon Polymers Private Limited marking a significant step forward in the bank’s digital transformation.

- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed a three-member advisory panel for the administration of Reliance Capital Limited.
- The members of the advisory committee include former Deputy MD of State Bank of India Sanjeev Nautiyal, former Deputy MD of Axis Bank Srinivasan Varadarajan and former MD and CEO of Tata Capital Limited Praveen P. Kadle.
- The former executive director of the Bank of Maharashtra Nageswara Rao was appointed as the committee’s administrator.

- It carries a cash award of ₹15 lakhs and was instituted by the New India Foundation.

Walmart and Flipkart signs an MoU with the Madhya Pradesh Government to train and support MSMEs
- Walmart and Flipkart will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Madhya Pradesh to create a capacity-building ecosystem for micro, small & medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Madhya Pradesh.
- This initiative comes under the Walmart Vriddhi Supplier Development
- Under this partnership with the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) of the Madhya Pradesh Government, Walmart and Flipkart will help MSMEs digitise their businesses and enable them to sell products across India through online retail.
State Bank of India signs an MoU with Usha International for empowering women entrepreneurs
- The State Bank of India (SBI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Usha International Limited (UIL) to empower women entrepreneurs by providing financial support under the joint liability group model.
- This agreement uplifts the social and economic status of women entrepreneurs by working together with UIL and SBI to make female entrepreneurs in rural areas self-reliant and provide equal opportunities to achieve economic growth and inclusion.

China launches a new communication satellite named Zhongxing-1D
- China successfully launched a new communication satellite named Zhongxing-1D into space from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China’s Sichuan province.
- This satellite was developed under the China Academy of Space Technology.
- This satellite launch marked the 399th mission for the Long March series carrier rockets.

Veteran Telugu film lyricist ‘Sirivennela’ Seetharama Sastry passed away
- Award-winning Telugu lyricist and Padma Shri awardee Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry passed away at the age of 66.
- He has written over 3,000 songs and has received the Nandi Award from the Andhra Pradesh Government multiple times among other awards.
- He became popular with veteran director K. Viswanath’s film ‘Sirivennela’ in 1986.
