Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurates the four-day Indo–Pacific Military Health Exchange Conference

  • Union Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh virtually inaugurated the four-day Indo–Pacific Military Health Exchange (IPMHE) Conference. This conference was co-hosted by the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) and the US Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM).
  • The theme of this conference is ‘Military healthcare in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world’.

Microsoft plans to set up India’s largest data centre region in Hyderabad

  • Tech giant Microsoft has planned to set up its largest data centre region in Hyderabad, Telangana. It is the fourth Microsoft data centers in India after Mumbai, Pune and Chennai.
  • This data center with an investment of over ₹ 15,000 crores will be operational by 2025.

Union Minister Narayan Rane launches a special entrepreneurship promotion drive for women named ‘SAMARTH’

  • Union Minister of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Narayan Rane launched the ‘SAMARTH’ a special entrepreneurship promotion drive for women on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2022 in New Delhi.
  • Under the ‘SAMARTH’ initiative, twenty per cent of seats in free skill development programmes organised under skill development schemes of the Union Ministry of MSME will be allocated for women and more than 7500 women will be benefitted through this drive.

     Union Ministry of Labour launches ‘donate a pension’ scheme

  • The Union Labour and Employment Ministry launched the ‘donate a pension’ scheme allowing any citizen to pay the premium amount on behalf of an unorganised worker under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan Scheme.
  • Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan is a social welfare scheme launched by the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment of the Government of India in February 2019 for poor labourers in the unorganised sector from minimum 18 years to maximum 40 years.

Sikkim launches the ‘Aama Yojna’ scheme for non-working mothers and Bahini scheme for girl students

  • Sikkim Government launched the ‘Aama Yojna’ scheme for non-working mothers and the ‘Bahini’ scheme for girl students. Under the ‘Aama Yojna’ scheme, all non-working mothers in Sikkim will receive ₹ 20,000 each annually in their bank accounts.
  • Under the ‘Bahini’ scheme, Sikkim Government will provide free sanitary napkins to all girl students of classes 9 and above in Sikkim.

Bombay Stock Exchange partners with the Tamil Nadu Government’s M-TIPB to promote the listing of MSMEs in Tamil Nadu

  • Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has partnered with the Tamil Nadu Government to promote awareness among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) of Tamil Nadu about the benefits of listing.
  • BSE will partner with MSME Trade and Investment Promotion Bureau (M-TIPB) to facilitate this. Under this partnership, BSE will provide capacity building and soft support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Tamil Nadu for fulfilling listing requirements.

  • The ninth edition of Sri Lanka and India Naval Exercise (SLINEX) was held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This exercise was conducted in two phases — the harbour phase at Visakhapatnam followed by the sea phase in the Bay of Bengal.
  • Sri Lankan Navy was represented by SLNS Sayurala, an advanced offshore patrol vessel and the Indian Navy by INS Kirch, a guided missile corvette.

DMRC signs a pact with CPWD for Central Vista ‘Metro Loop’

  • The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) to provide technical assistance and execute finishing and service works for the construction of a loop corridor connecting the existing metro network with the new Central Secretariat buildings coming up as part of the Central Vista revamp project named ‘Metro Loop’.
  • DMRC will also execute all the other finishing and services works, including design and construction of control systems, signal systems, track work, rolling stock and electrical and maintenance work.

  • National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited has received first prize in the Ispat Rajbhasha Award for 2018–19 and 2020–21 and the Ispat Rajbhasha Prerna Award for 2019–20.
