  • Union Minister for Labour and Employment & Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav released a book titled ‘Role of Labour in India’s Development’ at New Delhi.
  • This book contains 12 articles written by eminent academicians and practitioners on the contribution of labour in India’s development journey. This book was published by the V. Giri National Labour Institute.

 

India gets first-ever Virtual Smart Grid Knowledge Centre in Manesar

  • The Union Minister for power K. Singh has inaugurated India’s first-ever Virtual Smart Grid Knowledge Center (Virtual SGKC) and Innovation Park in Manesar, Haryana.
  • This Virtual SGKC is conceptualised and developed by POWERGRID with support from the Union ministry of power and technical assistance from United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

  • MSME Innovative is a new concept for MSMEs with a combination of innovation in incubation, design intervention and by protecting IPR in a single mode approach to create awareness amongst MSMEs about India’s innovation and motivate them to become MSME Champions.

 

India’s first-ever Drone School was inaugurated in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh

  • Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia have jointly inaugurated India’s first-ever Drone School in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
  • This drone school is one of the five Drone Schools (Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur and Satna) planned to be opened in five different cities of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Katalin Novak was elected as the first-ever woman President of Hungary. She served as a Minister for family policy. The forty-four-year-old Katalin Novak is Hungary’s youngest ever head of state.
  • She was elected to the mostly ceremonial role by 137 votes to 51 in the parliament dominated by Orban’s right-wing Fidesz party ahead of opposition challenger Peter Rona.

 

IMF provides $ 1.4 billion in emergency financing support to Ukraine

  • The International Monetary Fund (IMF) provided a $ 1.4 billion (SDR 1,005.9 million), under the Rapid Financing Instrument (RFI) to help meet urgent financing needs and mitigate the economic impact of the Russia-Ukraine war.

RBI prohibits Paytm Payments Bank from signing new customers

ICICI Bank acquires a five per cent stake in NARCL

  • Private sector lender ICICI Bank acquired five per cent stake in National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL).
  • The transaction is for a total cash consideration of up to ₹ 1,37.5 crore in tranches. Equity investment would be in tranches with the first tranche of equity investment of ₹ 70.45 crore.
