India conducts major exercise in strategically-located Andaman & Nicobar Islands

India has conducted a major military exercise in the Andaman and Nicobar Island archipelago. The abbreviation of DANX is “Defence of A&N Islands Exercise”.

The “Defence of A&N Islands Exercise” (DANX), with fighters, heavy-lift transport aircraft, warships, infantry combat vehicles, special forces and regular troops, will be conducted to fine-tune operational drills and synergy among the Army, Navy and Air Force in the region.

Kerala’s Jatayupara Adventure Park is now open

Jatayu Earth’s Center,a tourist spot is now Open. This Jatayupara Adventure Park is world’s largest bird sculpture, with a length of 200 feet, a width of 150 feet and a height of 70 feet.

The Center is one of the biggest private-public tourism projects in Kerala. There is also a rainwater harvesting reservoir that is capable to store up to 15 lakh liters of water.

U.S and South Korea will begin air force drill “Vigilant Ace”

The air forces of South Korea and the United States will hold ‘Vigilant Ace’ a joint drill. Six F-22 Raptor stealth fighters will be deployed in the exercise.

According to South Korea’s Yonhap news agency, it will be the biggest number of F-22 fighter jets to participate in a single drill.

China Successfully launched Three Remote Sensing Satellites

China launched three remote sensing satellites designed to improve observation capability to promote commercial use for the remote sensing industry.

The three satellites names are Jilin-1 04, Jilin-1 05 and Jilin-1 06. It was launched on a Long March-2C rocket from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwestern Sichuan province. The Long March-6 rocket was developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

Axis Bank Launched BlockChain-based International Payment Service

For retail and corporate customers,Private sector lender Axis Bank has launched an instant international payment services using Ripple’s enterprise blockchain technology solution.

The bank is offering the facility only to its retail customers in the country to receive payments from the UAE-based Rak Bank and for its corporate customers to receive payments from Standard Chartered, Singapore.

Zahid Hamid: Pakistan’s Law Minister Resigns

The resignation came as part of an agreement reached between the government and the protesters overnight.

Pakistan’s Law Minister Zahid Hamid stepped down from his post following the deadly clashes across the country between police and protesters belonging to hardline religious groups.

Mr. Hamid, the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, presented his resignation to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to bring the country “out of a state of crisis”.

First Indian Gopi Thonakal wins Asian Marathon Championship

Gopi Thonakal became the 1st Indian to win the Asian Marathon Championship. It is the 16th edition of the event which is held in Dongguan, China. He finished the marathon with a time 2 hours 15 minutes and 48 seconds.It is organized by the Asian Athletics Association.

Uzbekistan’s Andrey Petrov bagged the silver medal with a timing of 2:15:51s. Mongolia’s Byambalev Tseveenravdan won bronze medal with the timing 2:16:14s.

Gopi also had finished a decent 28th in the men’s marathon at the World Athletics Championship in London.


Indian clinched five gold medals at AIBA World Youth Women Boxing Championship

Indian clinched five gold medals at World Youth Women Boxing Championship which is being held in N.C. Bordoloi Indoor Stadium, Assam.

Nitu in the 48kg category,Sakshi Chaudhary in the 54kg category and Shashi Chopra in the 57kg category and Ankushita Boro in 64kg category won gold medals. The cash prize for each gold-medallists is Rs 2 lakh.


India bagged 10 medals in Para Badminton World Championships

India clinched 10 medals, including two Gold medals,2 Silver medals and 6 Bronze medals at the Para Badminton World Championships. The event was held at Ulsan in South Korea.

India’s Parul Parmar defeated Thailand’s Wannaphatdee Kamtam in the finals of the women’s singles Standing Lower (SL3) to clinch the gold medal.

Parmar also combined with Japan’s Akiko Sugino defeated Chinese pair of Cheng Hefang and MA Huihui to win the gold in the women’s doubles.

India bagged 2 Silver medals through Tarun Dhillon in Men’s Singles and Manoj Sarkar in SL-3 section.

Rajasthani folk singer Mangi Bai Arya passes away

Rajasthani Maand folk singer Mangi Bai Arya passed away in Udaipur. She was 88 years old.

She has won several awards, including the Kendriya Sangeet Natak Akademy Award.
