Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches PM Gati Shakti– National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity in Delhi
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched PM Gati Shakti – National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity and new exhibition complexes of India Trade Promotion Organisation at the Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.
- The National Master Plan will provide Gati Shakti with development plans of the 21st century and will help in the timely completion of these plans.
- The Union Government has approved 100 lakh crores to speed up the implementation of infrastructure projects across India at both the central and state levels and bring down logistics costs.
- Gati Shakti is based on the six pillars — comprehensiveness, prioritisation, optimisation, synchronisation and being analytical and dynamic.

Germany unveils the world’s first automated driverless train in Hamburg
- German railway company Deutsche Bahn collaborated with industrial group Siemens to unveil the world’s first automated driverless train in Hamburg to be more punctual and energy-efficient compared to traditional man-driven ones.
- This automated railway service is a part of the 60 million euro project by Siemens and Deutsche Bahn for the modernisation of Hamburg’s rapid urban rail system.

International Energy Agency invites India to become its full-time member
- International Energy Agency (IEA) has invited the world’s third-largest energy consumer, India, to become its full-time member to deepen its cooperation with IEA.
- If the proposal is accepted, India will require New Delhi to raise strategic oil reserves to 90 days requirement.
- IEA is made up of 30 member countries and eight associate nations.

- Shivalik Small Finance Bank partnered with Go Digit General Insurance to provide an array of instant, easy-to-understand insurance products such as health insurance plans, motor insurance and home and shop insurance through the bank’s network of branches across India.

Unity Small Finance Bank receives small finance bank licence from RBI
- Unity Small Finance Bank Limited (USFBL), a joint venture between Centrum Financial Services Limited (CFSL) and Resilient Innovations Private Limited (BharatPe),has received a small finance bank licence from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
- The new entity will take over the assets and liabilities of Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank.
- Centrum’s MSME and micro finance businesses will be merged into Unity Small Finance Bank.

- Former Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare was appointed as the Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a contract basis.
- He was a 1985-batch Jharkhand cadre IAS officer. He retired on 30 September and helped to shape the new National Education Policy (NEP).
Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) appoints Arun Kumar Mishra as its Chief Executive Officer
- The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has appointed Arun Kumar Mishra as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
- EESL is a joint venture between NTPC Limited, Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC) and POWERGRID, which was set up under the Union Power Ministry to facilitate the implementation of energy efficiency projects.

- The Karnataka State Higher Education Council has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) to provide industry-aligned skill development experiences to students of higher education which will benefit over five lakh students and faculty every year.
- These skill training courses are designed as per the national occupational standards of the National Skills Qualification Framework.
