NICL AO Exam Pattern

The NICL exam will be conducted in 3 stages – Prelims, Mains and Interview.

1) NICL AO Preliminary Exam

The Preliminary exam (prelims) is the first stage.. The marks of this stage will not count in your Final selection.

Note:

  • You have to qualify sectional as well as overall cut offs.
  • The NICL prelims will be online objective type test.
  • Penalty for wrong answers – One-fourth marks assigned to the question that you mark wrong. There is no penalty for unanswered questions.

2) Main Exam

The main exam has 2 parts – Objective and Descriptive. Here is the pattern for both Descriptive and Objective:

Your qualification in the Interview depends upon your overall score in NICL (AO) Mains and whether you qualify the descriptive test.

3) Interview

The interview is your final stage of selection test. Here is what you need to know about the NICL (AO) Interview:

  • Once you qualify mains exam, you will be called for an Interview.
  • You can download your interview call letters from NICL website later.
  • The weightage (ratio) of online Main Examination and Interview will be 80:20 respectively.
