TN Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has now released the Recruitment Notification for the post of Polytechnic Lecturers for the year 2020.

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for Direct Recruitment for the post of Lecturers in Government Polytechnic Colleges and Special Institutions (Engineering / Non-Engineering) Tamil Nadu Educational Service for the year 2017-2018 only through online mode.

The total number of vacancies available for the TN TRB Polytechnic Lecturer Recruitment 2020 is 1060.

The important fact to be noted here is, this recruitment was initially announced and later released again as per the order of a High Court Judgement. “As per Judgment of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, New Delhi made in SLP (C) Nos.14206-14217 of 2019 dated 08.08.2019 fresh notification is issued calling for application for the post of Lecturers in Government Polytechnic Colleges (Engineering / Non- Engineering) for the year 2017- 2018.”

  • Candidates should apply only through online mode in the Teachers Recruitment Board website http://www.trb.tn.nic.in.
  • The application process is entirely online.
  • No other mode of application will be accepted.

Age Limit – TN TRB Polytechnic Lecturer Notification 2020

  •  Maximum Age – 57 Years (as on 1st July, 2019)
  • Candidates should not have completed 57 years as on 01/07/2019 as per G.O. (Ms) No.156 Higher Education (B1) Department Dated: 15/09/2014.

Educational Qualification – TN TRB Polytechnic Lecturer Notification 2020

  1. Lecturer in Engineering subjects: “ A Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology / Architecture* with not less than sixty Percent of marks or equivalent :

Provided that if the candidate has a Master’s Degree in the appropriate branch of Engineering / Technology / Architecture*, the candidate should possess a first-class or equivalent in the appropriate branch either at Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level.” (As per Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No.218 dated July 8, 2017).

*As in the notification table 4 a) Vacancies are not available for Lecturer in Architecture and hence B.Arch., degree holders are not eligible to apply to this recruitment.

  1. Lecturer in non-Engineering subjects: A first class Master’s degree in the appropriate branch of study.

➢ Candidates should possess the requisite qualification in relevant subject awarded by an University or Institution recognized by University Grants Commission.

➢ As per the G.O.No.242 Higher Education (P1) Department dated 18.12.2012, for engineering subjects, the candidates should qualify 10+2+4 / 10+3+3 or 10+2+4+2 / 10+3+3+2 pattern for engineering subject and 10+2+3+2 / 11+2+3+2 pattern for non – engineering subject.

➢ As per G.O. (Ms) No.149 Higher Education (J2) Department, Dated:22/07/2016, Diploma / B.E., degree qualification acquired through Distance Education not equivalent to the qualification acquired through regular stream.

The candidates should apply only for the vacancies notified and subject specified. The candidates applying for the posts mentioned in Annexure-I should have passed Tamil Language as Part I or part II up to SSLC or PUC /Higher Secondary Course levels. If not, he/she should pass Tamil Language Test conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission within two years from the date of his/her appointment.

Note: All the Educational qualifications and the results should have been obtained prior to the date of this notification.

No Objection Certificate – TN TRB Polytechnic Lecturer Notification 2020

  • Persons who are in the service of the Indian Union or a State in India or in the employment of Local Bodies or Universities, or Quasi Government Organizations constituted under the authority of the Government of India or of a State in India whether in regular service or in a temporary service need not send their application through their Head of Department or Employer.
  • Instead, they may directly apply to the Teachers Recruitment Board after duly informing their Employer in writing that they are applying for the particular recruitment and with the condition that they should produce “No Objection Certificate” in the form prescribed below, from their Head of Department or Appointing authority at the time of attending the Certificate Verification.
