1. Megacity plan for Little Andaman

• “Sustainable Development of Little Andaman – Vision document” has been prepared by NITI Aayog.
• A new greenfield coastal city and a Free trade zone to compete with Singapore and Hong Kong will be developed under the project.
• Greenfield project refers to a new project to be started in a new place where there is no development already.

Little Andaman

• It is a part of Andaman Islands and is separate from Great Andaman by Duncan passage.

1. அந்தமானுக்கு மெகா சிட்டி திட்டம்

• “லிட்டில் அந்தமானுக்கான நிலையான வளர்ச்சி – தொலைநோக்கு ஆவணம்” நிதி ஆயோக் மூலம் தயாரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• ஒரு புதிய கிரீன்ஃபீல்ட் கடற்கரை நகரம் மற்றும் சிங்கப்பூர் மற்றும் ஹாங்காங்குடன் போட்டியிட ஒரு சுதந்திர வர்த்தக மண்டலம் ஆகியவை இத்திட்டத்தின் கீழ் அமைக்கப்படும்.

2. Census to be postponed to 2022

• Census has been planed to be conducted in two  phases

1. House listing and Housing Census
2. Population Enumeration

• The first Census was conducted in India in 1872 during the rule of Governor-General Lord Mayo.
• The first complete synchronous Census was conducted in the year 1881.
• It is conducted every 10 years.
• 2021 Census is the 16th such exercise since inception and 8th since independence and it is the first time Census has been postponed since independence.

2. மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு 2022-க்கு தள்ளிவைப்பு

• மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு இரண்டு கட்டங்களாக நடத்தப்பட திட்டமிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• இந்தியாவில் முதல் மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு 1872ஆம் ஆண்டு கவர்னர் ஜெனரல் மயோ பிரபுவின் ஆட்சிக் காலத்தில் நடத்தப்பட்டது.
• 1881ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் முழுமையான மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு நடத்தப்பட்டது.
• 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒரு முறை இந்த கணக்கெடுப்பு நடத்தப்படுகிறது.
• 2021ஆம் ஆண்டு மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு என்பது மொத்தத்தில் 16வது முறை மற்றும் சுதந்திரம் அடைந்ததிலிருந்து 8வது முறையாகும்.மேலும் சுதந்திரம் அடைந்ததிலிருந்து மக்கள் தொகை கணக்கெடுப்பு ஒத்திவைக்கப்பட்டது இதுவே முதல் முறையாகும்.

3. GST collection

• GST collection reached a record hit high in January with inflows Rs.1.2 lakh crore, which is 8% higher than last year.

3. ஜிஎஸ்டி(GST) வரி வசூல்

• ஜனவரியில் ஜிஎஸ்டி வரி வசூல் வரலாறு காணாத அளவிற்கு கடந்த ஆண்டை விட 8% அதிகமாக, ரூ.1.2 லட்சம் கோடியை எட்டி சாதனை படைத்துள்ளது.

4. Miyawaki Forest

• Chennai’s first Miyawaki Forest at Kotturpuram celebrates its first year.
• Miyawaki Forest is a Japanese method of afforestation.
• The native trees of the region are identified and divided into four layers such as

1. Shrub
2. Sub-tree
3. Tree and
4. Canopy

• Regardless of soil and climatic conditions, it grows well.
• It creates a dense forest in just 20 to 30 years, which through conventional methods takes 200 to 300 years.
• In this system, Multi-layered saplings are planted close to each other.
• This blocks sunlight from reaching the ground and prevents weeds.
• The close cropping ensures that the plants receive sunlight only from the top thus enabling them to grow upwards rather than sideways.
• Forests grow ten times faster and thirty times denser.
• The saplings become self-sustainable soon after the first three years. 

4. மியாவாகி காடு

• சென்னையின் முதல் மியாவாகி வனப்பகுதி, கோட்டூர்புரத்தில் தனது முதல் ஆண்டு விழாவைக் கொண்டாடுகிறது.

• மண் மற்றும் தட்பவெப்பநிலை எதுவாக இருந்தாலும், இது நன்றாக வளரும்.
• இது வெறும் 20 முதல் 30 ஆண்டுகளில் ஒரு அடர்ந்த காட்டை உருவாக்குகிறது, வழக்கமான முறைகள் மூலம் இதற்கு 200 முதல் 300 ஆண்டுகள் எடுக்கும்.

5.Citizens Commission on Elections (CCE)

• It is a civil society body of eminent persons with domain knowledge to analyse the critical aspects related to elections.
• It has recommended that the current election system should be subjected to independent review and independent audit.
• Chairman : Madan Lokur, Former Supreme Court Judge.

5. தேர்தல்கள் பற்றிய குடிமக்கள் ஆணைக்குழு (CCE – Citizens Commission on Elections)

• இது தேர்தல் தொடர்பான முக்கியமான விஷயங்களை ஆராய்வதற்கு களஅறிவு கொண்ட பிரமுகர்களின் குடிமை சமூக அமைப்பாகும்.
• தற்போதைய தேர்தல் முறை சுயாதீன மீளாய்வு மற்றும் சுயாதீன தணிக்கைக்கு உட்படுத்தப்பட வேண்டும் என அது பரிந்துரை செய்துள்ளது.
• தலைவர் : மதன் லோகுர், முன்னாள் உச்ச நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதி.

6. Garbage-to-power plant

• PM lauded a garbage-to-power plant at Bowenapally during his first Mann Ki Baat of the year.
• It was commissioned inside Dr.Ambedkar Agriculture Market at Bowenapally.
• Vegetable and fruit waste of the market is used to generate power and it is used to light the market and run the canteen.
• This patented High rate bio-methanation technology based on AGR (Anaerobic Gas lift Reactor) has been designed by CSIR-IICT (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Indian Institute of Chemical Technology).
• It was funded by Department of biotechnology and State government.

N.S.Rajappan

• Modi lauded the solo efforts of N.S.Rajappan in cleaning the Vembanad lake.
• He was paralysed below his knees yet he continues his efforts.
• He belongs to Kottayam, Kerala.

Vembanad lake

• It is the largest lake in Kerala and the Longest lake in India.
• Nehru Trophy Boat Race is a Snake Boat Race held every year in the month of August in this lake.
• In 2002, it was included in the list of wetlands of Ramsar Convention.
• Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is located on the east coast of the lake.

• சந்தையில் மீதமாகும் காய்கறி மற்றும் பழகழிவுகள் மின்சாரம் தயாரிக்கப் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன, மேலும் அது சந்தையில் விளக்கேற்ற மற்றும் கேண்டீன் இயக்க பயன்படுத்தப்படுகிறது.

வேம்பநாடு ஏரி

• நேரு கோப்பை படகுப் பந்தயம் என்பது ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஆகஸ்ட் மாதத்தில் இந்த ஏரியில் நடைபெறும் ஒரு பாம்பு படகுப் பந்தயம் ஆகும்.

7. Chabahar port

• India has sent two cranes as a part of consignment of six Mobile Harbour Cranes (MHC) worth $25 million to Chabahar.
• Shahid Beheshti port has received the cranes.
• Last month transport officials of India, Iran and Uzbekistan held their first “Trilateral working group meeting” on the joint use of Chabahar port.

• Chabahar port is located on the Gulf of Oman in Iran.
• It is near to the Gwadar port in Pakistan which has been developed by China.
• This is the only oceanic port of Iran.
• It consists of two separate ports named Shahid Beheshti and Shahid Kalantari.

7. சாபஹார் துறைமுகம்

• 25 மில்லியன் டாலர் மதிப்புள்ள ஆறு நடமாடும் துறைமுக கிரேன்கள் (MHC) அனுப்பும் திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக இந்தியா இரண்டு கிரேன்களை சாபஹாருக்கு அனுப்பியுள்ளது.

8. New Visa regime

• Anyone with a British National (Overseas) passport and their dependents can now apply online for visa to allow them to live and work in U.K.
• After 5 years they can apply for citizenship.
• It was in response to China threatening to impose National Security law to off the democratic protests in Hong Kong.

11. Tamil Nadu Government Advisor

• Retired Chief Secretary K. Shanmugam has been appointed as the Advisor to the Government of Tamil Nadu.
• K. Shanmugam will be appointed as an Advisor to the Government of Tamil Nadu from February 1.
• He will continue to hold the post from 1st February to one year.
• He has a monthly salary of Rs 2.25 lakh.

Second Consultant

• Sheela Balakrishnan, chief secretary during the AIADMK rule, was appointed as an advisor to the government immediately after his retirement.
• Similarly, now Chief Secretary K. Shanmugam has also been appointed as a Government Advisor.

11. தமிழக அரசு ஆலோசகர்

• ஓய்வு பெற்ற தலைமைச் செயலாளர் க.சண்முகம், தமிழக அரசின் ஆலோசகராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்.
• தலைமைச் செயலாளர் பதவியில் இருந்து ஓய்வு பெற்ற க.சண்முகம் பிப்.1 –  ஆம் தேதி முதல் தமிழக அரசின் ஆலோசகராக நியமிக்கப்படுகிறார்.
• இவர், பிப்.1 முதல் ஓராண்டு வரை இப்பதவியில் நீடிப்பார்.
• அவருக்கு மாத ஊதியமாக ரூ.2.25 லட்சம் நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இரண்டாவது ஆலோசகர்

• அதிமுக ஆட்சிக்கு காலத்தில் தலைமைச் செயலாளராக இருந்த ஷீலா பாலகிருஷ்ணன் ஓய்வு பெற்றதும் உடனடியாக அரசின் ஆலோசகராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். 
• அதுபோன்றே இப்போது தலைமைச் செயலாளர் க.சண்முகமும் அரசு ஆலோசகராக நியமனம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளார்.

12. New Chief Secretary

• Rajiv Ranjan takes charge as 47th Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu Government on February 1.
• Rajiv Ranjan, who has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary, hails from Jharkhand.
• He served as an IAS division officer in Tamil Nadu in 1985 for 35 years.
• New Chief Secretary Rajiv Ranjan will complete his 60 years in September. Accordingly, he will retire from the post of Chief Secretary in eight months.

12. புதிய தலைமைச் செயலர்

• தமிழக அரசின் 47- ஆவது தலைமைச் செயலாளராக ராஜிவ் ரஞ்சன் பிப்.1 பொறுப்பேற்கிறார்.
• புதிய தலைமைச் செயலாளராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள ராஜீவ் ரஞ்சன் ஜார்க்கண்ட் மாநிலத்தை சேர்ந்தவர்.
• 1985-ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழக பிரிவு ஐஏஎஸ் பிரிவு அதிகாரியாக 35 ஆண்டுகாலம் பணியாற்றியவர் ஆவார்.
• புதிய தலைமைச் செயலாளரான ராஜீவ் ரஞ்சன் வரும் செப்டம்பரில் 60 வயதைப் பூர்த்தி செய்கிறார். அதன்படி, அவர் எட்டு மாதங்கள் தலைமைச் செயலாளர் பதவியில் இருந்து ஓய்வு பெறுவார்.

13. Tamiravaruni Aquatic Bird Samai

• 11th Thamiravaruni Aquatic Bird Survey was started in collaboration with Agastyamalai Natural Resource Conservation Centre, Nellai Naturopathy Society, Thoothukudi, Muthunagar Natural Society and Tirunelveli District Science Centre.
• Assistant Conservator of Forests Hemalatha inaugurated the survey.
• It is noteworthy that 24,411 birds were counted in 74 species of birds in 51 ponds in the bird survey conducted last year.

13. தாமிரவருணி நீர்வாழ் பறவைகள் கணக்கெடுப்பு

• அகத்தியமலை மக்கள்சார் இயற்கை வள காப்பு மையம், நெல்லை இயற்கை சங்கம், தூத்துக்குடி, முத்துநகர் இயற்கை சங்கம் மற்றும் திருநெல்வேலி மாவட்ட அறிவியல் மையம் இணைந்து மேற்கொள்ளும் 11-ஆவது தாமிரவருணி நீர்வாழ் பறவைகள் கணக்கெடுப்பு தொடங்கியது.
• இக்கணக்கெடுப்பை உதவி வனப் பாதுகாவலர் ஹேமலதா தொடங்கிவைத்தார்.
• கடந்த ஆண்டு நடைபெற்ற பறவைகள் கணக்கெடுப்பில் 51 குளங்களில் 74 வகையான பறவையினங்களில் 24,411 பறவைகள் கணக்கிடப்பட்டது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

14. Tyagaraja Aradhana Festival at Thiruvaiyar

• 174th Annual Aradhana Festival of Sadhguru Sri Thyagaraja Swami at Thiruvaiyar in Thanjavur district begins on 1st Feb.
• The ceremony will be presided over by GK Vasan, Chairman, Brahma Mahotsava Sabha.

14. திருவையாறில் தியாகராஜ ஆராதனை விழா

• தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டம் திருவையாறில் சத்குரு ஸ்ரீ தியாகராஜ சுவாமிகளின் 174-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆராதனை விழா பிப்.1 தொடங்குகிறது. 
• ஸ்ரீதியாக பிரம்ம மஹோத்ஸவ சபைத் தலைவர் ஜி கே வாசன் தலைமையில் இவ்விழா நடைபெறவுள்ளது.

15. Syed Mushtaq Ali Cup T20

• Tamil Nadu beat Baroda by 7 wickets in the final match of Syed Mushtaq Ali cup T20.
• This is the second time Tamil Nadu became the champion in the tournament.
• Earlier, Tamil Nadu had won a similar trophy during the 2006-07 period.
• The competition was held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

15. சையது முஷ்டாக் அலி கோப்பை டி20

• சையது முஷ்டாக் அலி கோப்பை டி20 போட்டியின் இறுதி ஆட்டத்தில் தமிழகம் 7 விக்கெட்டுகள் வித்தியாசத்தில் பரோடாவை வீழ்த்தி சாம்பியன் ஆனது.
• இப்போட்டியில் தமிழகம் சாம்பியன் ஆனது இது 2- ஆவது முறை.
• முன்னதாக 2006 – 07 கால கட்டத்தில் தமிழகம் இதேபோல் கோப்பை வென்றிருந்தது.

16. Hospitalising for delivery is mandatory

• In the state of Maharashtra, Bhiwandi Nizampur Corporation has made it compulsory for pregnant women to be admitted to the hospital for delivery.
• Between 12,000 and 13,000 births occur a year in Bhiwandi. Of these, 3,000 to 4,000 deliveries are seen at home.
• In slums and rural areas, there are cases of deaths of pregnant women and infants due to delivery of homes.
• The corporation commissioner has therefore made it mandatory for pregnant women to be admitted to the hospital for childbirth.

16. பிரசவத்துக்கு மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிப்பது கட்டாயம்

• மகாராஷ்டிர மாநிலம் பிவண்டி நிஜாம்பூர் மாநகராட்சியில் கர்ப்பிணிகள் பிரசவத்துக்காக மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்படுவது கட்டாயமாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• பிவாண்டியில் ஓராண்டில் 12,000 முதல் 13,000 பிரசவங்கள் நிகழ்கின்றன. இதில் 3,000 முதல் 4,000 பிரசவங்கள் வீடுகளில் பார்க்கப்படுகின்றன.
• குடிசைப் பகுதிகள் மற்றும் கிராமப்புறங்களில் வீடுகளில் பிரசவம் பார்ப்பதால் கர்ப்பிணிகள், சிசுக்கள் உயிரிழக்கும் சம்பவங்கள் நிகழ்கின்றன. 
• எனவே கர்ப்பிணிகள் பிரசவத்துக்காக மருத்துவமமையில் அனுமதிக்கப்படுவதை மாநகராட்சி ஆணையர் கட்டாயமாக்கியுள்ளார்.

• கடந்த 1896-ஆம் ஆண்டு சுவாமி விவேகானந்தர் தொடங்கிய “பிரபுத்த பாரத” மாத இதழின் 125-ஆம் ஆண்டு கொண்டாட்டம் ஜனவரி 31 அன்று நடைபெற்றது.

19. Cranes for Chabahar Port

• Indian authorities formally handed over two cranes to Iran’s Chabahar port authorities on January 31, with a capacity to handle 140 tonnes of weight in the ports.
• The three countries are jointly building the Chabahar port in Sistan-Balochistan province in Iran to promote trade between India, Iran and Afghanistan.
• India has now provided cranes to this port.

19. சாபஹார் துறைமுகத்துக்கு கிரேன்கள்

• துறைமுகங்களில் 140 டன் எடையைக் கையாளும் திறன் கொண்ட இரண்டு கிரேன்களை ஈரானின் சாபஹார் துறைமுக அதிகாரிகளிடம் இந்திய அதிகாரிகள் ஜனவரி 31 அன்று முறைப்படி ஒப்படைத்தனர்.
• இந்தியா, ஈரான், ஆப்கானிஸ்தான் இடையே வணிகத்தை மேம்படுத்தும் நோக்கில், ஈரானில் சிஸ்தான்-பலுசிஸ்தான் மாகாணத்தில் உள்ள சாபஹார் துறைமுகத்தை மூன்று நாடுகளும் இணைந்து கட்டமைத்து வருகிறது.
• இந்த துறைமுகத்துக்கு கிரேன்களை இந்தியா இப்போது வழங்கியுள்ளது.

• Devaneya Pavanar Award –  Dr. K. Sivamani
• The Veeramamunivar Award is also given to Dr. Grigory James of Hong Kong.
• S. Rajaraman will receive the Chief Minister’s Computer Tamil Award for the year 2019.
• 2020 Literary Award – Dr. Alexis Devarasu Senmark of France,
• Grammar Award – Prof. Arunachalam Shanmugadasu from SriLanka,
• Language Award – Dr. Thinnappan from Singapore.

• முதன் முதலாக 2020-ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான ‘தமிழர் தந்தை சி.பா.ஆதித்தனார் நாளிதழ் விருது’ ‘தினமணி’க்கு வழங்கப்படுகிறது.
