1. India’s biggest floating solar power plant at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district of Telangana

• India’s biggest floating solar power plant is being developed by the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district of Telangana.
• It spans 450 acres of water surface area, which is all set to commission around 217 MW floating solar capacity in the next few months.
• The other renewable energy plants that are being developed are 92 MW floating unit at Kayamkulam gas plant and 25 MW unit at Simhadri power plant.

2. Tamil writer Imayam received Sahitya Akademi award for his Novel ‘sellatha panam’

• The Sahitya Akademi awards for the year 2020 were announced on 12 March 2021.
• Tamil writer Imayam won the Sahitya Akademi Award 2020 for his novel Sellatha Panam, published in 2018.
• For kannada language, Congress leader M Veerappa Moily received the award for his epic poem Sri Bahubali Ahimsadigvijayam.

2. தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் இமயம் அவர்களுக்கு, ‘செல்லாத பணம்’ என்னும் நாவலுக்காக சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது

• 2020 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருதுகள், 12 மார்ச் 2021 அன்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.
• தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர் இமயம், 2018 இல் வெளியான தனது ‘செல்லாத பணம்’ என்னும் நாவலுக்காக 2020 சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருதை வென்றார்.
• கன்னட மொழியில், காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் எம்.வீரப்பா மொய்லி அவர்களுக்கு ‘ஸ்ரீ பாஹுபலி அஹிம்சாதிக்விஜயம்’ என்னும் கவிதை தொகுப்பிற்காக விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது .

3. Multimodal transport hub built at Kathipara junction, Chennai

• Kathipara Junction will soon have a multimodal urban square with several facilities, from bus bays to parking lot and eateries under the flyover, will be thrown open to public by the end of May.
• According to Chennai Metro Rail Ltd.(CMRL), The objective is to attract more people to use the Alandur Metro station.

4. The Centre has reconstituted an advisory committee for studying the mythical Sarasvati river

• The Centre has reconstituted an advisory committee to chalk out a plan for studying the mythical Sarasvati river for the next two years and the committee would review the work done by the previous panel and then formulate a plan.
• The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) on had first set up the committee on December 28, 2017 for a period of two years.
• The committee would be chaired by the Culture Minister and includes officials from the Culture, Tourism, Water Resources, Environment and Forest, Housing and Urban Affairs Ministries and representatives of the Indian Space Research Organisation.

5. India has emerged as the fifth most attractive growth destination in PWC’s Survey

• According to PricewaterhouseCoopers(PWC) 24th Annual Global CEO Survey, India emerged as the 5th most attractive growth destination in the world.
• The United States emerged as the number one market followed by China, Germany and United Kingdom.

6. Government of India working on Atmanirbhar Niveshak Mitra portal to digitally facilitate investors

• To promote domestic investments, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry is in the process of finalising a dedicated digital portal called “Atmanirbhar Niveshak Mitra”.
• The portal is in testing phase and the final version will be ready for launch by 15th May 2021.

7. Government of India has launched a new ration app called ‘Mera Ration’ to facilitate the ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ system

• The government of India has launched a new ration app called ‘Mera Ration’ to facilitate the ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’ system in the country.
• This mobile app will help ration cardholders to identify the nearest fair price shop, and check details of their entitlement.
• As of now, 32 States and Union Territories are covered under this scheme and the remaining four States and UTs are expected to be integrated into the scheme in the next few months.

8. Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has proposed about 392 routes under UDAN 4.1 bidding process

• On the commencement of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (India@75)’ launched by Government of India, the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has proposed about 392 routes under UDAN 4.1 bidding process.
• The Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS)- Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) envisaged to make air travel affordable and widespread in the country.
• The UDAN 4.1 round is focused on connecting smaller airports, along with special helicopter and seaplane routes

• Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) launched the sounding rocket (RH-560) to study attitudinal variations in the neutral winds and plasma dynamics at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
• ISRO has developed a series of sounding rockets called Rohini series. RH-200, RH-300 and RH-560 are the notable ones in the series.

11. Girish Chandra Murmu has been re-appointed as the Chairman of the Panel of External Auditors of the United Nations

• Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG), Girish Chandra Murmu has been re-appointed as the Chairman of the Panel of External Auditors of the United Nations for the year 2021.
• Murmu was elected as Chairman of the Panel for 2020 previously. In 1959, the Panel of External Auditors was established by the UN General Assembly.

13. Kathakali maestro Guru Chemancheri Kunhiraman Nair passed away on 15 March, 2021

• Veteran Kathakali Guru Chemancheri Kunhiraman Nair(105), passed away on 15 March, 2021 at kerala.
• He was honoured with the Padma Shree in 2017 and has also played a significant role in making classical dances like Bharatanatyam popular in north Kerala.

• பழம்பெரும் கதகளி குரு செமஞ்சேரி குன்ஹிராமன் நாயர் (105), 15 மார்ச் 2021 அன்று கேரளாவில் காலமானார்.
• 2017 ஆம் ஆண்டில் பத்மஸ்ரீ விருது பெற்ற இவர், வட கேரளாவில் பரதநாட்டியம் போன்ற பாரம்பரிய நடனங்களை பிரபலப்படுத்துவதில் முக்கிய பங்காற்றியுள்ளார்.
