1. President Ram Nath Kovind approved a Bill to set up a national bank for financing infrastructure and development

• President Ram Nath Kovind gave assent to an invoice to arrange the Nationwide Financial Institution for Financing Infrastructure and Improvement (NaBFID) to fund infrastructure tasks in India.
• The Bill seeks to establish the NaBFID to support the development of long-term non-recourse infrastructure financing in India including the development of the bonds and derivatives markets necessary for infrastructure financing and to carry on the business of financing infrastructure and for matters connected therewith.
• The DFI (Development Finance Institution), called the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID), will be answerable to the Parliament.

2. India participated in France-led naval drill La Perouse for the first time

• French Navy’s Helicopter carrier Tonnerre and surcouf frigate had arrived in Kochi to lead the naval exercise ‘La Perouse’ with Quad members (USA, Japan, Australia and India).
• After La Perouse, another important naval exercise, the India-French Varuna exercise will also take place.

3. MV Ever Given struck at Suez canal had been moved

• The huge container ship which has been blocking the Suez Canal for almost a week moved.
• The MV Ever Given has been wedged diagonally across the canal. It affected world supply chains and costed the global economy billions. The ship has now moved away from the canal’s western bank.

3. சூயஸ் கால்வாயின் குறுக்கே தரை தட்டிய எம்.வி எவர் கிவன் நகர்த்தப்பட்டது

• ஏறக்குறைய ஒரு வாரமாக சூயஸ் கால்வாயைத் தடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்த மிகப்பெரிய கொள்கலன் கப்பல் நகர்ந்தது.

4. Cochin Shipyard delivered MV ‘Sindhu’, passengers cum cargo vessel for Andaman & Nicobar

• Cochin Shipyard Limited delivered MV ‘Sindhu’, a 500 pax passengers cum 150 MT Cargo Vessel built indigenously for Andaman and Nicobar.
• The basic design of the vessel was developed using world-renowned naval architects Knud E Hansen of Denmark collaborating with M/s Smart Engineering and Design Solution, Kochi under ‘Make in India’

4. கொச்சி கப்பல் கட்டும் தளம் எம்.வி.’சிந்து‘ என்ற பயணிகள் கப்பலை அந்தமான் நிக்கோபாருக்கு வழங்கியது

• கொச்சி கப்பல் கட்டும் நிறுவனம், அந்தமான் நிக்கோபாருக்கு 150 மெ.டன் எடை மற்றும் 500 பேக்ஸ் பயணிகள் கொண்ட உள்நாட்டில் தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட எம்.வி.’சிந்து’ என்ற கப்பலை வழங்கியது.
• கப்பலின்அடிப்படைவடிவமைப்பு, மேக் இன் இந்தியா திட்டத்தின் கீழ், டென்மார்க்கின் பிரபல கடற்படைகட்டிடக்கலைஞர்க்னுட்இஹான்சன், கொச்சி யின் ஸ்மார்ட்இன்ஜினியரிங்மற்றும்டிசைன்தீர்வுநிறுவனத்துடன்இணைந்து உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.

5. Turning 3D waste into vehicle parts

• Car maker Ford and tech firm Hewlett-Packard (HP) have come together to transform 3D waste, like printed powders and parts, into vehicle components.
• The parts have better chemical and moisture resistance, and are 7% lighter and cost 10% lesser than conventional versions, the automotive company noted.
• The recycled materials are being used to manufacture injection-moulded fuel-line clips that will be installed first on the automaker’s Super Duty F-250 trucks.

6. RBI has made Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA) mandatory after 31 March

• From April, there will be no automatic recurring payment for various services including recharge and utility bill as RBI has made Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA) mandatory after 31 March.
• Under the new norms, banks will be required to inform customers in advance about recurring payment due and transaction would be carried following nod from the customer. For recurring payments above Rs 5,000, banks are required to send one-time password to customer as per the new guidelines.

7. Mahinder Giri was selected for the International Ranger Award

• Mahinder Giri, range officer of the Rajaji Tiger Reserve (Uttarakhand) is the only ranger from Asia to win the prestigious International Ranger Award.
• The award was announced for 10 professionals across the world by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA).

7. சர்வதேச ரேஞ்சர் விருதுக்கு மகிந்தர் கிரி தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டார்

• இராஜாஜி புலிகள் காப்பகத்தின் (உத்தரகாண்ட்) ரேஞ்ச் அதிகாரியான மகிந்தர்கிரி, ஆசியாவிலிருந்து மதிப்புமிக்க சர்வதேச ரேஞ்சர் விருதை வென்ற ஒரே ரேஞ்சர் ஆவார்.

8. CRUT won the ‘Smart Cities India Awards 2021’

• The Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) that runs the ‘MoBus’ service, won the 6^th Smart Cities India Awards 2021 in the ‘Smart SPV/Municipal Corporation’ category.
• The award recognises projects from the designated special purpose vehicle (selected under Smart City Mission) that are promoting sustainable development in urban areas in India.
• The event is organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the nodal agency of the Government of India under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Exhibitions India Group.

8. ‘ஸ்மார்ட் சிட்டி இந்தியா விருதுகள் 2021’ஐ CRUT வென்றது

9. India topped the medals tally with 15 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze in the ISSF Shooting World Cup

• India finished at the top of the table in the ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) World Cup 2021 held at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi. India secured 30 medals which included 15 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze.
• The US and Italy finished with a total of eight and four medals, respectively.

10. India beat England in the final ODI to clinch series 2-1

• India beat England by seven runs in the third and final ODI in Pune to clinch the three-match series (2-1). Sam Curran was declared Player of the match. England batsman Jonny Bairstow was awarded the Player of the Series as the opener amassed 219 runs in the ODI series.
• Virat Kohli-led side has now won all the series in this England’s tour of India. India claimed the Test series (3-1) and then won the five-match T20I (3-2) series.
• Virat Kohli has become the third captain to lead India in 200 international matches after MS Dhoni (332) and Mohammad Azharuddin (221).
