TAMILNADU

1. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin signed in five projects on his first day of duty

• Muthuvel Karunanithi Stalin was appointed as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered oath to the Chief Minister.
• He signed in five projects on his first day of duty.
• They are:

1. Corona Welfare Fund of Rs. 4000 per ration card in two phases.
2. Aavin milk rate will be reduced by Rs. 3 from 16 May 2021.
3. Free travel for women in all normal (white board) government buses of Tamil Nadu.
4. A separate department for implementing the “Chief Minister in your constituency” project in which action will be taken on petition received in the first 100 days.
5. Free COVID-19 treatment in government and private hospitals under the Tamil Nadu government insurance scheme.

1. தமிழக முதல்வர் மு. க. ஸ்டாலின் முதல் நாளில் ஐந்து திட்டங்களில் கையெழுத்திட்டார்

• தமிழக முதல்வராக முத்துவேல் கருணாநிதி ஸ்டாலின் நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். ஆளுநர் பன்வாரிலால் புரோஹித் முதலமைச்சருக்கு பதவிப் பிரமாணம் செய்து வைத்தார்.
• அவர் தனது முதல் நாளில் ஐந்து திட்டங்களில் கையெழுத்திட்டார்.
• அவை:

1. இரண்டு கட்டங்களாக ஒரு ரேஷன் கார்டுக்கு ரூ.4000 கரோனா நல நிதி.
2. ஆவின் பால் விலை 16 மே 2021 முதல் ரூ.3 குறைக்கப்படும்.
3. தமிழ்நாட்டின் அனைத்து சாதாரண (வெள்ளை அட்டை) அரசுப் பேருந்துகளில் பெண்களுக்கு இலவசபயணம்.
4. முதல் 100 நாட்களில் பெறப்பட்ட மனு மீது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும் திட்டமான ‘உங்கள் தொகுதியில் முதலமைச்சர்’ திட்டத்தை செயல்படுத்த தனி துறை அமைக்கப்படும்.
5. தமிழ்நாடு அரசு காப்பீட்டுத் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் அரசு மற்றும் தனியார் மருத்துவமனைகளில் இலவச கோவிட்-19 சிகிச்சை.

2. V. Irai Anbu appointed as the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu

• Irai Anbu is appointed as the 48^th Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu.
• Rajeev Ranjan, who held the post earlier, was transferred and posted as Chairman and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited.
• Irai Anbu was a 1988-batch officer. He was the Director of the Anna Institute of Management, a State-run institution to encourage youngsters to take up a career in civil services. He holds two doctorates — one in management concepts found in Thirukkural and one on the comparison between Thiruvalluvar and Shakespeare.

2. தமிழக தலைமைச் செயலாளராக வெ. இறையன்பு நியமனம்

• தமிழ்நாட்டின் 48வது தலைமைச் செயலாளராக வெ. இறையன்பு நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.
• முன்னதாக இப்பதவியில் இருந்த ராஜீவ் ரஞ்சன் மாற்றப்பட்டு தமிழ்நாடு செய்தித்தாள் மற்றும் பேப்பர்ஸ் லிமிடெட் நிறுவனத்தின் தலைவர் மற்றும் நிர்வாக இயக்குநராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.

5. India, Israel, and UAE signs first ever trilateral cooperation agreement

• India, Israel, and the UAE have signed their first ever trilateral pact. The trilateral partnership has been initiated by the International Federation of Indo-Israel Chambers of Commerce (IFIICC) with an Israeli-based firm Ecoppia.
• Ecoppia is an Israeli-based firm producing modern robotic photo voltaic cleansing technology in India for a project in the UAE.

6. Interpol launches a new mobile app ‘ID-Art’

• Interpol launched a new mobile app ‘ID-Art’ that lets users search and identify stolen art pieces using image-recognition software.
• It will help recover lost artwork and prevent trafficking.
• The ID-Art app provides real-time access to the agency’s Stolen Works of Art database, an international archive of more than 52,000 objects verified to be missing along with images, descriptions, and certified police reports.

• Raman Meenakshi Sundaram was appointed as the Director of Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR). He was working as Principal Scientist (Biotechnology) at the Institute’s Crop Improvement Section. He is a scientist associated with rice biotechnology, molecular breeding, etc.

• புலம்பெயரும் பறவைகள் குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தவும், அவற்றைப் பாதுகாக்க சர்வதேச ஒத்துழைப்பின் அவசியத்தையும் ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காக உலக புலம்பெயரும் பறவை தினம் 8 மே அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த நாள் ஆண்டுதோறும் இரு-முறை மே மாதம் இரண்டாவது சனிக்கிழமை மற்றும் அக்டோபர் மாதம் இரண்டாவது சனிக்கிழமை கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

9. World Red Cross Day – 8 May

• World Red Cross Day is also known as Red Crescent Day, is observed annually on 8 May. This date marks the birth anniversary of Henry Dunant, who is the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). He is also a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.
• The first Red Cross Day was celebrated on 8 May 1948.
• 2021 Theme: “Together we are #unstoppable!”

9. உலக செஞ்சிலுவைச் தினம் – 8 மே

• சிவப்பு பிறை தினம் என்றும் அறியப்படும் உலக செஞ்சிலுவைச் தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் 8 மே அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்த நாள் செஞ்சிலுவைச் சங்கத்தின் சர்வதேச குழுவின் நிறுவனர் ஹென்றி டுனாண்டின் பிறந்த நாளைக் குறிக்கிறது. அவர் அமைதிக்கான நோபல் பரிசை பெற்றவர்.
• முதல் செஞ்சிலுவைச் தினம் 8 மே 1948 அன்று கொண்டாடப்பட்டது.

• World Thalassaemia Day is observed on 8 May every year to raise awareness about the disease (Thalassaemia), its symptoms and prevention. Thalassemia is an inherited blood disorder, which is characterised by less haemoglobin.
• 2021 Theme: “Addressing Health Inequalities Across the Global Thalassemia Community”

10. உலக இரத்த அழிவு சோகை (தாலசீமியா) தினம் – 8 மே

• இரத்த அழிவு சோகை (தாலசீமியா), அதன் அறிகுறிகள் மற்றும் தடுப்பு பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதற்காக ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 8 மே அன்று உலக தாலசீமியா தினம் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. தாலசீமியா என்பது ஒரு மரபுவழி இரத்தக் கோளாறு ஆகும். இதில் குறைவான ஹீமோகுளோபின் காணப்படும்.
• 2021 கருப்பொருள்: “உலகளாவிய தாலசீமியா சமூகம் முழுவதும் சுகாதார ஏற்றத்தாழ்வுகளை நிவர்த்தி செய்தல்”.
