Dear Bankersdaily Aspirant,
Children’s Day is one of the day to relish our childhood memories and also the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru , the 1st Prime Minister of India. In 1996 , the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement was instituted and was awarded to the deserving candidates from then by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of India. The award will be constituted to the children aged between 4 to 15 who have exceptional abilities. The National Child award was given to celebrate the exceptional achievements of children; as well as to individuals and institutions who work for child welfare.
This award has also have a specialty to its kitty which is , this award is one of the three national presidential awards for children of the state. The selection for the award is done by a National Selection Committee constituted by Government of India. Usually this award is not restricted by a specified number, so the number of awardees varies each year.
The award will be generally presented on the Children’s Day (November 14th) and usually by The President of India in Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi.
This year the National Child Awards 2017 was given away by the President Ram Nath Govind on 14th November, 2017 in the presence of Minister of State for Women & Child Development, Dr. Virendra Kumar.
In this year 2017, the President honoured 16 children with one child given a gold medal and other 15 children were given silver medal. The National Award for Child Welfare was given to 3 individuals and 5 institutions. The Gandhi Manav Seva Award was conferred on 3 individuals this year.

NATIONAL CHILD AWARD FOR EXCEPTIONAL ACHIEVEMENT
Given to : Children with exceptional fields such as academics, culture, arts, sports, music, etc.
Eligible Age Group : 5 to 18 years
Awards contains :
For Gold Awards : Child with most outstanding achievement
Cash Prize : Rs. 20,000/- & a Certificate / Citation & Gold Medal
+ Rs. 10,000 Book Voucher
For Silver Awards:
Cash Prize : Rs.10,000/- & a Certificate/ Citation & Silver Medal + Rs. 3,000 Book Voucher
