EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION – TNPSC Assistant Geologist & Geo Chemist Recruitment 2019

  • The Educational Qualification will be considered as on 12th February 2019.
  • Applicants should possess the following or its equivalent qualification from any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission as on 12.02.2019 i.e. date of this Notification.

Other things being equal, preference will be given to the candidates who possess practical experience in fieldwork.
2. Assistant Geochemist A Master’s Degree in Geology

Applied Geology (OR)

Master of Science (Technology) in Hydrogeology with Geochemistry/Chemistry as one of the subjects at degree level or in the Post Graduate level of any University.

The Post Graduate Degree qualification prescribed for these posts should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies, viz., SSLC+ HSC or its equivalent +UG Degree+ PG Degree from the recognized Institutions as required under Section 25 of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016.

The following qualifications are declared as Equivalent to the prescribed Educational Qualification.

3. M.Sc., (Applied Geology) awarded by Pondicherry University is equivalent to the qualification prescribed for the post of Assistant Geologist. G.O.(Ms).No.27, Industries (E1) Department, dated 02.03.2005.
4. M.Sc., (Applied Geology) awarded by any University recognized by the UGC as equivalent to M. Sc., Geology G.O.(Ms).No.156, Industries (E1) Department, dated 28.12.2016
5. M.Sc Geosciences (5 year Integrated Course) Degree awarded by Bharathidasan University is equivalent to M.Sc Geology for the purpose of employment in Public services. G.O.(Ms).No.323, Higher Education (K2) Department, dated 13.11.2017.

Applicants should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil on the date of this Notification.

Scheme of Examination – TNPSC Assistant Geologist & Geo Chemist Recruitment 2019

This exam consists of two phases of Exam.

  • Phase I – Objective Type (OMR Method)
  • Phase II – Oral Test (For both the posts)

The questions in Paper – I will be set in English only and questions in Paper – II will be set both in English and Tamil.

Final selection will be made on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Oral Test has taken together subject to the rule of reservation of appointment.

Candidate’s appearance in both the papers of the Written Examination and in the Oral Test is compulsory.
