1. Government opens COVID-19 vaccination for all above 18 years of age from 1 May

• Everyone above the age of 18 years will now be administered COVID-19 vaccine from 1 May 2021. In this phase, the vaccination will continue as before in government of India vaccination centres free of cost to the eligible population.
• During this phase, vaccine manufacturers will supply 50 percent of their monthly released doses to Central government, and they will be free to supply the remaining 50 percent doses to States as well as in the open market. Private Hospitals will have to procure their supplies of Covid-19 vaccine exclusively from the 50 percent supply earmarked for other than Government of India channel.

1. 1 மே முதல் 18 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்ட அனைவருக்கும் கோவிட்-19 தடுப்பூசியை அரசு அனுமதிக்கிறது

• 18 வயதுக்கு மேற்பட்ட அனைவருக்கும் 1 மே 2021 முதல் கோவிட் -19 தடுப்பூசி வழங்கப்படும். இந்த கட்டத்தில், இந்திய அரசு தடுப்பூசி மையங்களில் அனைத்து தகுதிவாய்ந்த மக்களுக்கும் இலவச தடுப்பூசி தொடரும்.
• இந்த கட்டத்தில் தடுப்பூசி உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் தங்களது மாதாந்திர வெளியிடப்பட்ட அளவுகளில் 50 சதவீதத்தை மத்திய அரசுக்கு வழங்குவார்கள், மீதமுள்ள 50 சதவீத அளவை மாநிலங்களுக்கும் திறந்த சந்தையிலும் வழங்கலாம். தனியார் மருத்துவமனைகள் கோவிட் -19 தடுப்பூசியை இந்திய அரசு வழியைத் தவிர வேறு 50 சதவீத விநியோகத்திலிருந்தே பிரத்தியேகமாக வாங்க வேண்டும்.

2. NASA’s Mars helicopter makes history with successful flight on Planet Mars

• NASA‘s Mars helicopter makes history with successful flight on the Mars. NASA stated that the miniature robot helicopter Ingenuity performed a successful take-off and landing on Mars. This is the first powered, controlled flight by an aircraft over the surface of another planet.
• The twin-rotor helicopter had performed its maiden 40-second flight as planned. The robot rotorcraft was programmed to ascend 10 feet (3 meters) straight up, then hover and rotate in place over the Martian surface for half a minute before landing.

Perseverance

• In 2020, the NASA Space Research Center in the US sent a spacecraft called The Perseverance to study Mars. The spacecraft successfully reached Mars in February 2021. NASA had also sent a drone helicopter called Ingenuity along with the Perseverance spacecraft at the base.

• நாசாவின் ஹெலிகாப்டர் செவ்வாய் கிரகத்தில் வெற்றிகரமாக பறந்து வரலாற்றை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. நாசாவின் கூற்றுப்படி, சிறிய வகை ரோபோ ஹெலிகாப்டரான இன்ஜெனியுட்டி செவ்வாய் கிரகத்தில் வெற்றிகரமாக பறந்து தரையிறங்கியது. மற்றொரு கிரகத்தின் மேற்பரப்பில் இயக்கப்படும் முதல் ஆற்றல்மிகு கட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்ட விமானம் இதுவாகும்.
• இந்த இரட்டை-ரோட்டார் ஹெலிகாப்டர் திட்டமிட்டபடி அதன் முதல் 40 வினாடி பயணத்தை நிகழ்த்தியது. இந்த ரோபோ ரோட்டோகிராஃப்ட் 10 அடி (3 மீட்டர்) நேராக மேலே பறந்து, பின்னர் தரையிறங்குவதற்கு முன்பு அரை நிமிடம் செவ்வாய் கிரகத்தின் மேற்பரப்பில் வட்டமிட்டு சுழலும்.

பெர்செவரன்ஸ்

• அமெரிக்காவின் நாசா விண்வெளி ஆய்வு மையம், செவ்வாய் கிரகத்தை ஆய்வு செய்ய பெர்செவரன்ஸ் எனும் விண்கலத்தை 2020இல் அனுப்பியது. இந்த விண்கலம், பிப்ரவரி 2021இல் வெற்றிகரமாக செவ்வாயை சென்றடைந்து. பெர்செவரன்ஸ் விண்கலத்தடன், இன்ஜெனியுட்டி என்ற டிரோன் ரக ஹெலிகாப்டரையும், அடிப்பகுதியில் இணைத்து அனுப்பியிருந்தது நாசா.

3. Sivasubramanian Ramann from Tamil Nadu to head SIDBI

• Sivasubramanian Ramann from Tamil Nadu has taken charge as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), the principal financial institution engaged in the promotion, financing, and development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
• The appointment is for a period of three years. Before this, Mr. Ramann served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of National e- Governance Services Ltd. (NeSL), India’s first information utility.

3. தமிழ்நாட்டிலிருந்து சிவசுப்ரமணியன் ராமன் இந்திய சிறு தொழில் வளர்ச்சி வங்கியின் தலைவராகிறார்

• குறு, சிறு மற்றும் நடுத்தர தொழில் நிறுவனங்களின் மேம்பாடு, நிதி மற்றும் வளர்ச்சியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ள முதன்மை நிதி நிறுவனமான இந்திய சிறு தொழில் வளர்ச்சி வங்கியின் (SIDBI)இன் தலைவர் மற்றும் நிர்வாக இயக்குநராக தமிழ்நாட்டைச் சேர்ந்த சிவசுப்ரமணியன் ராமன் பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ளார்.
• இந்த நியமனம் மூன்று ஆண்டுகளுக்கானது ஆகும். இதற்கு முன்னர், திரு. ராமன் இந்தியாவின் முதல் தகவல் பயன்பாடான தேசிய மின் ஆளுமை சேவைகள் நிறுவனத்தில் (NeSL) நிர்வாக இயக்குநராகவும் தலைமை நிர்வாக அதிகாரியாகவும் பணியாற்றினார்.

4. Piyush Goyal launches Startup India Seed Fund Scheme

• Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal launched the Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS). The Fund aims to provide financial assistance to startups for proof of concept, prototype development, product trials, market entry and commercialisation.
• It is mainly for Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns of India, which are often deprived of adequate funding. An amount of 945 crores rupees corpus will be divided over the next 4 years.

4. ஸ்டார்ட்அப் இந்தியா விதை நிதி திட்டத்தை பியூஷ் கோயல் தொடங்கினார்

• மத்திய வர்த்தக மற்றும் கைத்தொழில் துறை அமைச்சர் பியூஷ் கோயல் ஸ்டார்ட்அப் இந்தியா விதை நிதி திட்டத்தை (SISFS) தொடங்கி வைத்தார். இந்த திட்டம், கோட்பாடு, முன்மாதிரி மேம்பாடு, தயாரிப்பு சோதனைகள், சந்தை நுழைவு மற்றும் வணிகமயமாக்கல் ஆகியவற்றிற்கான ஆதாரங்களுக்காக தொடக்க நிறுவனங்களுக்கு நிதி உதவி வழங்குவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
• இத்திட்டம் குறிப்பாக இந்தியாவின் போதுமான நிதி கிடைக்காத அடுக்கு 2 மற்றும் அடுக்கு 3 நகரங்களுக்கானதாகும். அடுத்த 4 ஆண்டுகளில் 945 கோடி ரூபாய் நிதி இத்திட்டதிற்காக ஒதுக்கப்படும்.

5. India and Germany sign agreement on ‘Cities combating plastic entering the marine environment’

• India and Germany signed an agreement on Technical Cooperation titled ‘Cities Combating Plastic Entering the Marine Environment’ at a virtual ceremony in New Delhi. The project is aimed at enhancing practices to prevent plastic entering the marine environment.
• The project’s outcomes are completely in line with the objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban focusing on sustainable solid waste management and the vision “to phase out single use plastic by 2022”.
• It will be undertaken at the national level in select states (Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Andaman & Nicobar Islands) and in the cities of Kanpur, Kochi and Port Blair for a period of three and a half years.

5. ‘கடல் சூழலுக்குள் நுழையும் பிளாஸ்டிக்கை எதிர்த்துப் போராடும் நகரங்கள்‘ குறித்த ஒப்பந்தத்தில் இந்தியாவும் ஜெர்மனியும் கையெழுத்திட்டன

• புது தில்லியில் நடைபெற்ற மெய்நிகர் விழாவில் இந்தியாவும் ஜெர்மனியும் ‘கடல் சூழலில் நுழையும் பிளாஸ்டிக்கை எதிர்த்துப் போராடும் நகரங்கள்‘ என்ற தலைப்பில் தொழில்நுட்ப ஒத்துழைப்புக்கான ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டன. கடல் சூழலில் பிளாஸ்டிக் நுழைவதைத் தடுப்பதற்கான நடைமுறைகளை மேம்படுத்துவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டது இந்த திட்டம்.
• இந்த திட்டத்தின் விளைவுகள் நிலையான திடக்கழிவு மேலாண்மை மற்றும் 2022-க்குள் ஒரே முறை பயன்படுத்தும் பிளாஸ்டிக்கை நீக்கும் தொலைநோக்குப் பார்வை ஆகியவற்றில் கவனம் செலுத்தும் தூய்மை இந்தியா இயக்கம்-நகர்ப்புற நோக்கங்களுக்கு ஏற்ப உள்ளன.

6. Miguel Diaz-Canel to succeed Raul Castro as the President of Cuba

• Miguel Diaz-Canel will succeed Raul Castro as the Cuban Communist Party’s first secretary, which is the most powerful position in Cuba. He is the first person without the surname Castro to run Cuba since the 1959 revolution. Diaz-Canel will be the Head of the Cuban Communist Party and President of Cuba.
• Raul Castro had been in the post since 2011, when he took over from his older brother, Fidel Castro.

6. ரவுல் காஸ்ட்ரோவுக்குப் பின் மிகுவல் தியாஸ்–கேனல் கியூபாவின் ஜனாதிபதியாகிறார்

• கியூபா கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சியின் முதல் செயலாளரான ரவுல் காஸ்ட்ரோவுக்குப் பின் மிகுவல் தியாஸ்–கேனல் பதவியேற்பார், இது கியூபாவின் மிக சக்திவாய்ந்த பதவியாகும். 1959ஆம் ஆண்டு புரட்சிக்குப் பின்னர் கியூபாவை இயக்கும் காஸ்ட்ரோ என்ற குடும்பப்பெயர் இல்லாத முதல் நபர் இவர் ஆவார். கியூபாவின் இரண்டு மிக முக்கியமான பதவிகளான கியூபா கம்யூனிஸ்ட் கட்சியின் தலைவர் மற்றும் கியூபாவின் ஜனாதிபதி ஆகிய பதவிகளை தியாஸ்-கேனல் வகிப்பார்.

7. Indian pharma exports grow at 18% to 24.44 billion dollars in FY 2020-21

• India’s pharma exports increased 18 percent to 24.4 billion dollars during the last financial year in comparison to the 2020 fiscal year.
• According to the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India, North America was the largest exporting region for Indian pharmaceuticals companies with more than 34 percent Country-wise, exports to Canada registered the highest growth of 30 percent, followed by South Africa at 28%.

7. 2020-21ஆம் நிதியாண்டில் இந்திய மருந்துப்பொருட்கள் ஏற்றுமதி 18% வளர்ந்து 24.44 பில்லியன் டாலர்களாக உள்ளது

• 2020 நிதியாண்டை ஒப்பிடுகையில் கடந்த நிதியாண்டில் இந்தியாவின் மருந்துப்பொருட்கள் ஏற்றுமதி 18 சதவீதம் அதிகரித்து4 பில்லியன் டாலராக இருந்தது.
• இந்திய மருந்துப்பொருட்கள் ஏற்றுமதி ஊக்குவிப்பு கவுன்சிலின் அறிக்கைப்படி, வட அமெரிக்கா இந்திய மருந்து நிறுவனங்களுக்கு 34 சதவீதத்திற்கும் அதிகமான ஏற்றுமதிகளைக் கொண்ட மிகப்பெரிய ஏற்றுமதி பிராந்தியமாக உள்ளது. நாடு வாரியாக, கனடாவிற்கு ஏற்றுமதி 30 சதவீத அதிகபட்ச வளர்ச்சியைப் பதிவு செய்தது, அதைத் தொடர்ந்து தென்னாப்பிரிக்கா 28% வளர்ச்சியைப் பதிவு செய்தது.

8. UN Chinese Language Day – 20 April

• UN Chinese Language Day is observed annually on 20 April. The event was established by the UN Department of Public Information in 2010.
• It aims “to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of all six of its official working languages throughout the organization”.
• Chinese was established as an official language of the United Nations in 1946. Chinese was included as a working language by the General Assembly in 1973, and by the Security Council in 1974.

8. ஐ.நா. சீன மொழி தினம் – 20 ஏப்ரல்

• ஐ.நா. சீன மொழி தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் 20 ஏப்ரல் அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த நிகழ்வு ஐ.நா. பொது தகவல் துறையால் 2010இல் நிறுவப்பட்டது.
• இதன் நோக்கம் “பன்மொழிவாதம் மற்றும் கலாச்சார பன்முகத்தன்மையை கொண்டாடுவதுடன், அமைப்பு முழுவதும் ஐ.நா.வின் ஆறு அதிகாரப்பூர்வ வேலை மொழிகளையும் சமமாக பயன்படுத்துவதை ஊக்குவிப்பது” ஆகும்.
• சீன ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் அலுவல் மொழியாக 1946இல் நிறுவப்பட்டது. சீனமொழியை ஒரு அலுவல் மொழியாக 1973இல் பொதுச் சபையும் 1974இல் பாதுகாப்புக் குழுவும் சேர்த்துக் கொண்டது.

9. DRDO develops supplemental oxygen delivery system for treatment of COVID-19 patients

• DRDO has developed a SpO2-based supplemental oxygen delivery system for soldiers serving in extremely high-altitude areas and COVID-19 patients. This automatic system delivers supplemental oxygen based on the SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation) levels and prevents the person from sinking into a state of hypoxia, which is fatal in most cases.
• Hypoxia is a condition in which the amount of oxygen reaching the tissues is inadequate to fulfil all the energy requirements of the body.
• This is exactly the situation that gets replicated in a COVID-19 patient due to the virus infection. If a COVID-19 patient’s SpO2 level goes below 94 per cent, he or she is generally advised to contact the doctor immediately as hospitalisation may be necessary.

9. கோவிட்-19 நோயாளிகளுக்கு சிகிச்சை அளிப்பதற்கான துணை ஆக்ஸிஜன் விநியோக அமைப்பை டி.ஆர்.டி.ஓ உருவாக்குகிறது

• டி.ஆர்.டி.ஓ (DRDO) மிகவும் உயரமான பகுதிகளில் பணியாற்றும் வீரர்கள் மற்றும் கோவிட்-19 நோயாளிகளுக்கு SpO2 அடிப்படையிலான துணை ஆக்ஸிஜன் விநியோக அமைப்பை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. இந்த தானியங்கி அமைப்பு SpO2 (இரத்த ஆக்ஸிஜன் செறிவு) அளவுகளை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு பெரும்பாலான சந்தர்ப்பங்களில் ஆபத்தான ஹைபாக்ஸியா நிலையில் துணை ஆக்ஸிஜனை வழங்குகிறது.
• ஹைபாக்ஸியா என்பது திசுக்களை அடையும் ஆக்ஸிஜனின் அளவு உடலின் அனைத்து ஆற்றல் தேவைகளையும் பூர்த்தி செய்ய போதுமானதாக இல்லாத ஒரு நிலையாகும்.
• வைரஸ் தொற்று காரணமாக கோவிட்-19 நோயாளிக்கு இந்த நிலைமை உள்ளது. கோவிட்-19 நோயாளியின் SpO2 நிலை 94 சதவீதத்திற்கும் குறைவாக இருந்தால், மருத்துவமனையில் அனுமதிக்கப்பட வேண்டியஅவசியம் இருப்பதால் உடனடியாக மருத்துவரைத் தொடர்பு கொள்ளுமாறு அவர் அறிவுறுத்தப்படுகிறார்.

10. RBI set up a 6-member panel to review the working of ARCs under Sudarshan Sen

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has set up a six-member committee to undertake a comprehensive review of the working of Asset Reconstruction Companies (ARCs) in the financial sector and recommend suitable measures for enabling such entities to meet the growing requirements of the financial sector.
• The committee will be headed by Sudarshan Sen, former Executive Director, RBI, will review existing legal and regulatory framework applicable to ARCs and recommend measures to improve efficacy of ARCs.

10. சுதர்சன் சென் தலைமையில் ARCக்களின் பணி குறித்து ஆய்வு செய்ய ரிசர்வ் வங்கி 6 பேர் கொண்ட குழுவை அமைத்தது

• இந்திய ரிசர்வ் வங்கி (RBI) நிதித் துறை அமைப்பில் சொத்து புனரமைப்பு நிறுவனங்களின் (ARC) செயல்பாடுகள் குறித்து விரிவான மறுஆய்வு செய்ய ஆறு பேர் கொண்ட குழுவை அமைத்துள்ளது, மேலும் அத்தகைய நிறுவனங்கள் நிதித் துறையின் வளர்ந்து வரும் தேவைகளை பூர்த்தி செய்ய பொருத்தமான நடவடிக்கைகளை பரிந்துரைக்கிறது.
• இந்த குழுவின் தலைவராக ரிசர்வ் வங்கியின் முன்னாள் செயல் இயக்குநர் சுதர்சன் சென் தலைமை தாங்குவார். இக்குழு ARCக்களுக்கு பொருந்தும் தற்போதைய சட்ட மற்றும் ஒழுங்குமுறை கட்டமைப்பை மறுஆய்வு செய்து, ARCக்களின் செயல்திறனை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான நடவடிக்கைகளை பரிந்துரைக்கும்.
