• India’s first mobile medical vehicle ‘Neyam’ was launched at Thiruvallur to treat patients who were unable to move at their home. It was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Dairy Minister M. Naser.

2. Scientists develop indigenous cheap 3D robotic motion phantom that can reproduce human lung motion

• Scientists of IIT-Kanpur and Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow have developed a novel and cheap 3D robotic motion phantom that can reproduce human lung motion. It will help to deliver focused radiation in cancer patients. This is the first time in India for manufacturing this type of robotic phantoms, and its program can be changed to produce different types of lung motion.
• The technology developed with support from the Advanced Manufacturing Technologies program of the Department of Science & Technology (DST) of the Government of India.

• India emerged as the 5^th largest foreign exchange reserves holder in the world $ 608.99 billion after China, Japan, Switzerland and Russia.
• In 2020-21, India’s balance of payments recorded a surplus in both current account and capital account which contributed to the increase in foreign exchange reserves during the year.

• The Kunariya village of Gujarat has held a unique first-ever Balika Panchayat Young females aged between 10 to 21 years contested in the elections.
• It aims to develop leadership qualities in the girls for Future Panchayat polls. This Panchayat will be run by the girls and for the girls. It will take up issues of adolescent girls and women in the village.
• 20-year-old Bharti Garva was elected as the first-ever sarpanch of Balika panchayat.

This would be a standalone Institution of its type in the country. This will impact higher education and research in the field related to rich Indian heritage and its conservation.

8. Vaidehi Dongre was crowned as the Miss India USA 2021

• 25-year-old Vaidehi Dongre of Michigan was crowned as the ‘Miss India USA 2021’ and Arshi Lalani of Georgia was declared the first runner up.
• Vaidehi Dongre also won the ‘Miss Talented’ award for her performance of Kathak.
• Miss India USA is the longest-running Indian pageant outside India.

• Union Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has been appointed as the Deputy Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha. He has succeeded Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, who has now taken over as the Leader of House in the Rajya Sabha.

• Union Government announced the launch of the ‘National Logistics Excellence Awards’ for the logistics sector.

The awards are in two categories, the first group includes logistics infrastructure and service providers and the second one is for various user industries. The awards will highlight best practices including consolidation, process standardisation, technological upgrade, digital transformations, and sustainable practices.

10. மத்திய அரசு ‘தேசிய தளவாட சிறப்பு விருதுகளை’ அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது

• தளவாடங்கள் துறைக்கான ‘தேசிய தளவாட சிறப்பு விருதுகளை’ அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதாக மத்திய அரசு அறிவித்தது.

13. Indian Grandmaster Praggnanandhaa wins Gabriel Sargissian in the FIDE chess World Cup match

• 15-year-old Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa of Tamil Nadu won 37-years -old Armenian Grandmaster Gabriel Sargissian in the first game of the two-game mini-match in the second round of the FIDE chess World Cup.

13. பி.ஐ.டி.இ. உலகக் கோப்பை சதுரங்க போட்டியில் கேப்ரியல் சர்கிசியன் வெற்றி பெற்றுள்ளார்

• 15 வயதான இந்திய கிராண்ட்மாஸ்டர் ஆர் பிராக்னநந்தா 37 வயதான ஆர்மீனிய கிராண்ட்மாஸ்டர் கேப்ரியல் சர்கிசியனை பி.ஐ.டி.இ. (உலக சதுரங்க சம்மேளனம்) உலகக் கோப்பை சதுரங்க போட்டியின் இரண்டாவது சுற்றில் இரண்டு ஆட்டங்கள் கொண்ட மினி போட்டியின் முதல் ஆட்டத்தில் வென்றார்.

14. சர்வதேச சதுரங்க தினம் – 20 ஜூலை

• சர்வதேச சதுரங்க தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் 20 ஜூலை அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இந்த நாள் பி.ஐ.டி.இ (உலக சதுரங்க சம்மேளனம்) தொடங்கப்பட்ட நாளைக் குறிக்கிறது. ஐந்தாம் நூற்றாண்டில் இந்தியாவில் சதுரங்கம் (செஸ்) கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. அதற்கு “சதுரங்கம்” என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டது.
• ஐ.நா. பொதுச் சபை இந்த நாளை சர்வதேச சதுரங்க தினமாக 2019இல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டது.

சதுரங்கம்:

• சதுரங்கம் என்பது இரண்டு வீரர்களுக்கான பலகை விளையாட்டு ஆகும். இது ஒரு சதுர பலகையில் விளையாடப்படுகிறது. இதில் 64 சிறிய சதுரங்கள், ஒவ்வொரு பக்கத்திலும் எட்டு சதுரங்களுடன் இருக்கும்.

15. Gregor Johann Mendel’s bicentenary Birth Anniversary– 20 July

• Gregor Johann Mendel, known as the ‘Father of Genetics’, was born on 20 July 1821. His bicentenary birth anniversary is celebrated this year.
• He did his research on pea plants. In 1866, he published his first article entitled “Experiments on Plant Hybrids”.
• He chose 7 types of characters for his experiment. He found in his research that that quality is hidden in the first generation expressed in the second generation.

15. கிரிகோர் ஜோஹன் மெண்டல் இருநூறாமாண்டு பிறந்தநாள் – 20 ஜூலை

• ‘மரபியலின் தந்தை’ என அறியப்படும் கிரிகோர் ஜோஹன் மெண்டல் 20 ஜூலை 1821 அன்று பிறந்தார். அவரது இருநூறாமாண்டு பிறந்தநாள் இந்த வருடம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
• அவர் பட்டாணிச் செடிகளில் ஆராய்ச்சியை மேற்கொண்டார். 1866இல் தன்னுடைய முதல் கட்டுரையை “தாவரக் கலப்பினங்கள் குறித்த பரிசோதனைகள்” என்னும் தலைப்பில் வெளியிட்டார்.
• அவற்றில் 7 விதமான இணைப் (ஜோடி) பண்புகளை தம்முடைய பரிசோதனைக்குத் தேர்வு செய்தார். அந்தப் பண்பு முதல் தலைமுறையில் அடங்கியிருந்து (மறைந்திருந்து) இரண்டாம் தலைமுறையில் வெளிபடுத்தப்படுகிறது என தனது ஆராய்ச்சியில் கண்டறிந்தார்.
