1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declares 14 August to be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day every year

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that in memory of the struggles and sacrifices of our people,14 August will be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day every year.
• Declaration of such a day would remind the present and future generations, the pains and suffering faced by the people during the partition of India.

1. ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஆகஸ்ட் 14 அன்று பிரிவினை அதிர்ச்சி நினைவு தினமாக அனுசரிக்கப்படும் என பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி அறிவித்தார்

• நமது மக்களின் போராட்டங்கள் மற்றும் தியாகங்களின் நினைவாக, ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 14 ஆகஸ்ட் அன்று பிரிவினை அதிர்ச்சி நினைவு தினமாக அனுசரிக்கப்படும் என்று பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி கூறினார்.
• இத்தகைய நாளைப் பிரகடனம் செய்வது, பிரிவினையின் போது மக்கள் எதிர்கொண்ட வலியையும் துன்பத்தையும் தற்போதைய மற்றும் எதிர்கால சந்ததியினருக்கு நினைவூட்டும் விதமாக அமையும்.

2. Four more sites of India added to Ramsar list as wetlands of international importance

• Four more wetlands from India gets recognition from the Ramsar Secretariat as Ramsar sites.
• The sites that are added to Ramsar sites are Thol and Wadhwana from Gujarat and Sultanpur and Bhindawas from Haryana.
• With this, the number of Ramsar sites in India increases to 46 and the surface area covered by these sites now is 1,083,322 hectares.

2. இந்தியாவின் மேலும் நான்கு இடங்கள் சர்வதேச முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்த ஈரநிலங்களாக ராம்சார் பட்டியலில் சேர்க்கப்பட்டன.

3. Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar launches TAPAS

• Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Virendra Kumar launched an online portal called TAPAS (Training for Augmenting Productivity and Services).
• TAPAS is the initiative of the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, to provide access to lectures by subject experts, study material and more without compromising on the quality of teaching.

4. Employees of SAIL wins the highest number of Prime Minister’s Shram Awards

• The employees of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), under the Ministry of Steel, won the Prime Minister’s Shram Awards for the Performance Year 2018 for their exemplary workmanship, innovativeness and dedication to the duty.
• Out of the total 69 awardees, 31 awardees are from SAIL.
• This is the highest number of PM’s Shram awards won by the employees of any organisation during the year.

4. பிரதமரின் ஷ்ரம் விருதுகளை அதிக எண்ணிக்கையில் வென்ற SAIL ஊழியர்கள்

• எஃகு அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் உள்ள இந்திய எஃகு நிறுவனம் (SAIL) ஊழியர்கள், சிறந்த செயல்திறன், புதுமை மற்றும் கடமை அர்ப்பணிப்புக்காக 2018 செயல்திறன் ஆண்டிற்கான பிரதமரின் ஷ்ராம் விருதுகளை வென்றனர்.

5. Indore becomes India’s first ‘water plus’ city

• Madhya Pradesh’s commercial capital Indore has been declared as India’s first ‘water plus’ city under the Swachh Survekshan 2021.
• Indore has set an example for other cities by becoming the first ‘Water+’ certified city under the Swachh Survekshan 2021.

6. Four Indian airports are on the Skytrax list for ‘2021’

• Four Indian airports Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru found a place in the world’s 100 best airports by UK-based airline and airport review consultancy Skytrax.
• The top five in Skytrax’s World’s Top 100 Airports 2021 list are — Doha Hamad, Tokyo Haneda, Singapore Changi, Seoul Incheon and Tokyo Narita.

6. நான்கு இந்திய விமான நிலையங்கள் 2021க்கான ஸ்கைட்ராக்ஸ் (Skytrax) பட்டியலில் உள்ளன

7. IDFC FIRST bank brings ‘Honour FIRST’ banking solutions for Navy veterans and serving personnel

• The Indian Navy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC) FIRST Bank to initiate ‘Honour FIRST’, a premium banking solution for serving personnel and veterans of the Indian Navy.
• It is designed especially for Armed Forces and its veterans, the Honour FIRST Defence Account is supported by a dedicated team of defence veterans.

8. Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrated on 14 August

• The Indian Independence Act of 1947 gave birth to two nations, India and Pakistan.
• Every year 14 August is observed as Pakistan’s Independence Day, as it commemorates the day when Pakistan achieved independence following the end of British rule in 1947. Pakistan is celebrating its 75^th Independence Day.

8. பாகிஸ்தானின் சுதந்திர தினம் 14 ஆகஸ்ட் அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது

• 1947ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய சுதந்திரச் சட்டம், இந்தியா மற்றும் பாகிஸ்தான் ஆகிய இரு நாடுகளைப் உருவாக்கியது.

9. 14 August – Day of the Establishment of Bombay High Court

• The high court of Bombay was established on 14 August 1862.
• It is the high court for the states of Maharastra and Goa and the Union Territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.
• Sir Mathew Richard Sausse was the first Chief Justice of Bombay High court.
• The Present Chief Justice of the Court is Hon’ble Justice Dipankar Datta.

• It is formed on 27 December 1945.
