India and Netherlands announced the launch of a strategic partnership in the water sector

  • India and the Netherlands had announced the launch of the strategic partnership in the water sector to further intensify ongoing cooperation and better coherence in the area. It includes cooperation in new areas of water including water budgeting, cost-effective decentralized treatment technology, converting wastewater to energy, and river hazard management.

India and Japan signed an MoU for Academic and Research Cooperation

  • The Union Cabinet was apprised of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between India and Japan in areas of atmospheric science and technology.
  • The pact was signed between the National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) and the Department of Space and Research Institute for Sustainable Humanosphere (RISH), Kyoto University for academic and research cooperation and exchange.

Government sets minimum default threshold at Rs 10 lakh for MSME pre-pack insolvency resolution

  • The threshold default for initiating the pre-packaged insolvency resolution process will be set at 10 lakh and above for micro, small and medium enterprises announced by the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). The central government has decided a minimum threshold default of Rs 10 lakh for initiation of resolution process by MSME corporate debtor.
  • Pre-pack for MSMEs is a hybrid corporate rescue process, which blends elements and virtues of both formal and informal insolvency proceedings. A resolution plan is negotiated between the debtor and its creditors before the commencement of formal proceedings.

Airtel Payments Bank announced ‘Rewards123’ savings account

  • Airtel Payments Bank announced its new savings account ‘Rewards123’ which offers benefits and value to customers when they transact digitally using the bank account.
  • Customers can get ‘Rewards123’ at an annual fee of 299 and avail benefits ranging from certain cashback per month on payments for prepaid recharges, post-paid, broadband, landline, and DTH bill payments, load money benefits, and shopping rewards.

HDFC acquired a 10% stake in Kerala-based asset management firm

  • Mortgage lender HDFC Ltd acquired a 9.90% stake in Kerala-based infrastructure fund management company KIFML. KIFML was promoted by the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) to manage Kerala Infrastructure Fund. The company, incorporated in November 2018, acts as an asset management company.

Jeep India tied up with Axis Bank to launch Jeep Financial Services

  • Jeep India has tied up with Axis Bank to launch Jeep Financial Services, which will curate financial solutions for Jeep customers and Jeep brand dealers.
  • Axis Bank and Jeep India will get access to each other’s growing customer database. Jeep customers will be serviced from the bank’s 4,586 branches spread across India and also via on-site counters at high footfall Jeep brand dealerships.

Education Minister launched NanoSniffer Explosive trace detector developed jointly by IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay

  • Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank launched NanoSniffer, the world’s first Microsensor-based Explosive Trace Detector (ETD) developed Jointly by IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, which will help to detect a wide range of military, commercial, and home-made explosives threats.
  • NanoSniffer is 100 percent ‘Made in India’ The core technology of NanoSniffer is protected by patents in the United States and Europe.

West Bengal is the highest contributor to small savings schemes

  • West Bengal is the top contributor to the various National Savings Schemes offered by the government according to data released by the National Savings Institute under the Ministry of Finance.
  • The National Savings Institute is a body under the Department of Economic Affairs of the Finance Ministry.
  • It is followed by Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in terms of population, with a gross collection of Rs 69,660.70 crore out of the Rs 5.96 lakh crore garnered during 2017-18.

  • Prince Philip, the husband of Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, passed away at the age of 99. His death was met with a flood of tributes from across Britain and the world. By tradition, a framed notice containing the news was also placed on the railings outside Buckingham Palace.

Maharashtra Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar passed away due to Covid-19 at 55

  • Congress MLA Raosaheb Antapurkar had passed away due to corona. He was an MLA from the Degalore assembly seat in Antapurkar Nanded district. He was hospitalized for several days for corona treatment but could not escape.

The program will cover areas such as sports data analysis, wearables, and performance, e-sports, stadiums and venues, fan engagement followed by extensive support and funding.
