Khala Ghoda Festival – 5 February to 13 February
- The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is an annual celebration of dance, music and other art forms observed on 5-13 February ever year.
- Since 1999, this event has been hosted in the month of February at Kala Ghoda in Mumbai. The Kala Ghoda Arts Festival is a week-long event hosted by the Kala Ghoda Association.
- This festival is named after Edward VII’s black equestrian statue, which used to stand in the Fort area of Mumbai.

Union Ministry of Education and Union Ministry of Civil Aviation were declared joint winners in the category of Union Ministries/Departments at the Republic Day Parade 2022
- The tableaux of the Union Ministry of Education and Union Ministry of Civil Aviation have been declared as the joint winners in the category of Union Ministries/Departments at the Republic Day Parade 2022 among the nine tableaux of Union Ministries/Departments.
- It was the first time that the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation participated in the Republic Day Parade.
- The Union Ministry of Education and Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s tableaux were themed ‘National Education Policy’ while the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation’s tableau was themed ‘Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik.’
- The tableau of the Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (CPWD), based on the theme ‘Subhash @125’ and the ‘Vande Bharatam’ dance group, have been selected for the special prize category.
- Based on public voting, the Union Ministry of Communication/Department of Posts’ tableau was chosen as the finest among Union Ministries/Departments. The theme of this tableau is ‘India Post: 75 Years @ Resolve – Women Empowerment’.

Uttar Pradesh wins the Best State Tableau Award at the Republic Day Parade 2022
- Uttar Pradesh won the Best State Tableau Award at the Republic Day Parade 2022 among the 12 states/ union territories that participated in the Republic Day Parade 2022.
- The tableau of Uttar Pradesh was based on the theme of ‘One District – One Product and Kashi Vishwanath Dham’.
- Uttar Pradesh is followed by Karnataka for its tableau based on ‘Cradle of Traditional Handicrafts’ and Meghalaya for its tableau based on ‘Meghalaya’s 50 years of Statehood and its tribute to women-led cooperative societies & SHGs’.
- Maharashtra was voted as the best tableaus among the states/ union territories in the popular choice category based on the theme of ‘Biodiversity and State Bio-symbols of Maharashtra’.

- The Aravalli Biodiversity Park in Gurugram was declared as India’s first other effective area-based conservation measures (OECM) site. This was announced by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
- The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) awards the OECM tags to areas that are not protected but support rich biodiversity.
- The National Biodiversity Authority submitted a request to the IUCN in December 2020 to declare the Aravalli Biodiversity Park an OECM site.
- The Aravalli Biodiversity Park contains 390 acres of semi-arid vegetation with 300 native plants, 1,01,000 trees, 43,000 shrubs and a variety of bird species.

- G. A. Srinivasa Murthy was appointed as the Director of the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
- He joined the DRDL in 1987.
- He is known for his contributions to Advanced Naval Systems Programme (ANSP).
Sonali Singh was given the charge of the Controller General of Accounts
- The Union Government gave the charge of the Controller General of Accounts to Sonali Singh after the superannuation of Dipak Dash.
- She is a 1987 batch officer of the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS) and has joined the Controller General of Accounts as the Additional Controller General of Accounts in October 2019.
- She had also served as the Additional Secretary at the Central Vigilance Commission.
IndiGo names Rahul Bhatia as its first Managing Director
- IndiGo, which is owned by InterGlobe Aviation, has named Rahul Bhatia as its first Managing Director with immediate effect.
- He is the co-founder and promoter of InterGlobe Aviation.
- His mission would be transformative, focusing on extending Indigo’s presence in India and worldwide markets while also laying the groundwork for long-term growth.

Karnataka Bank was conferred with the digital transformation award 2021 by the Confederation of Indian Industry
- The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has recognised Karnataka Bank with the ‘DX 2021 Awards’ for Best Practice in Digital Transformation in recognition of its innovative practice ‘KBL Vikaas’.
- As part of wave 2.0 of ‘KBL VIKAAS,’ the Karnataka bank has launched the ‘KBL NxT’ digital transformation journey, with the objective of bringing digital efforts to the next level and eventually emerging as ‘the digital bank of the future’.

IISc Bangalore installs India’s most powerful supercomputer named Param Pravega
- Param Pravega, one of India’s most powerful supercomputers and the largest in an Indian academic institution, was installed and commissioned at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore.
- This supercomputer is designed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and has a total supercomputing capacity of 3.3 petaflops (1 petaflop equals a quadrillion or 1015 operations per second)
- The Param Pravega supercomputer at the IISc is a mix of heterogeneous nodes with Intel Xeon Cascade Lake processors for the CPU nodes and NVIDIA Tesla V100 cards on the GPU nodes.
