  • Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) has fully commissioned India’s first Voltage Source Converter (VSC) based High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) electricity transmission system.
  • The 2,000 MW electricity transmission system, consisting of 2 links between Pugalur in Tamil Nadu and Thrissur in Kerala.

  • Both countries agreed to broad-base cooperation in the spheres of the digital economy and cyber-enabled critical technologies, noting the need to strengthen the security of critical information infrastructure such as 5G telecom networks.

  • Early detection of tropical cyclones has wide socio-economic implications. A larger time gap between the detection and the impact of the cyclone could help preparation activities.
