National Security Day or Rashtriya Suraksha Diwas – 04 March

• National Security Day, also known as Rashtriya Suraksha Diwas, is observed annually on 04 March in India. This day aims to show gratitude to our security forces which include military, para-military, commandos, police officials, guards and India’s security forces and to those who maintain peace and security of India.
• National Security Day was celebrated for the first time in 1972 in India.

World Obesity Day – 04 March

• World Obesity Day is observed on 04 March every year to make individuals aware and encourage them to engage in behaviours that would help them achieve and maintain a healthy weight. Earlier, 11 October was marked as World Obesity Day. Since 2020, the date has been changed to 04 March.
• The theme for World Obesity Day 2022 is ‘Everybody needs to act’.

Tata Motors launches ‘Anubhav’ initiative for mobile dealership for rural areas

• Tata Motors has launched its newest initiative the ‘Anubhav,’ which is showroom on wheels that offer a doorstep car-buying experience for rural customers. This initiative will help increase reach of cars of Tata Motors in tehsils and talukas, which have high potential in terms of rural population and economy.
• According to the World Bank collection of development indicators, the rural population (percentage of the total population) in India was reported at 07 per cent.

• Indian Railways’ South Central Railway (SCR) zone carried out this testing of the indigenous train collision protection system.

Rajasthan Government announces a ₹ 10-crore budget to promote cattle rearing

• Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot proposed a budget of ₹ 10 crores in the next financial year 2022–23 under the new policy for rearing, protection and overall development of the state animal (camel) of Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Government had declared the camel as its state animal in 2014.
• According to data from the Rajasthan Government, there are now less than two lakh camels left in Rajasthan, while the number of camels in India has reduced by 5 lakh since 2012.

Axis Bank signs an MoU with IPE Global for strengthening India’s healthcare infrastructure

• Axis Bank has committed to strengthening India’s healthcare infrastructure by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IPE Global for the SAMRIDH healthcare blended finance facility.
• Under this partnership, Axis Bank will provide affordable finance of up to $ 150 million through SAMRIDH to support health enterprises and innovators who would otherwise not have access to affordable debt financing.

PayU partners with Vtex to offer merchants of Vtex with multiple local payment options

Former Australia wicketkeeper Rod Marsh passed away at 74

• Australian cricketer Rod Marsh passed away at the age of 74. He played 96 Test matches for Australia between 1970 and 1984 and 92 One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
• On retirement, he held Test cricket’s then world record for most wicketkeeping dismissals, 355.

Legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne passed away at 52

• Legendary Australian leg-spin bowler Shane Warne passed away at the age of 52. He took 708 Test wickets in 145 Test matches, which spanned from 1992 to 2007.
• He picked up a five-wicket-haul a staggering six times and a match-haul of 10 wickets twice and a best of 6/46.
• He holds the record for taking the most wickets by a bowler in the Ashes Test Series with 195 wickets from 36 Tests.
