- India and Oman have renewed two agreements on military cooperation and maritime issues. The agreements will ensure the continuation of cooperation in specific areas of defence and security.
- The MoU was signed by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defense, Oman Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi and Munu Mahawar, the Ambassador of India to Oman and the signing was held in Muscat, Oman.

Kotak Mahindra Bank issues India’s first FPI license to GIFT IFSC AIF
- Kotak Mahindra Bank had issued the first-ever foreign portfolio investments (FPI) license to the GIFT IFSC Alternate Investment Fund (AIF) of True Beacon Global. This is the first FPI license issued to an AIF incorporated in GIFT IFSC by any custodian bank or designated depository participant in the country.

DRDO develops antibody detection kit for COVID-19 named “DIPCOVAN kit”
- Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed a new antibody detection-based kit, “DIPCOVAN kit”, that can give the result in 75 minutes and will cost 75.
- The DRDO’s Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences (DIPAS) laboratory has developed the DIPCOVAN kit, which can detect spike as well as nucleocapsid (S&N) proteins of SARS-CoV-2 virus.
- Recently, DRDO launched its 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG) drug for adjunct therapy for COVID-19.

IIT Madras team develops Blocktrack app for healthcare information system
- Researchers at the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras have developed “blocktrack”, a blockchain-based secure medical data and information exchange system for mobile phone applications. This system is currently being field-tested at the IIT Madras Institute Hospital.
- The app aims to securely digitising healthcare information systems while protecting sensitive personal information and medical records by decentralising control and ownership of patient data through a blockchain-based innovation.
