  • India’s first indigenously designed high ash coal gasification based methanol production plant was inaugurated at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) R&D Centre,  Hyderabad. Methanol is utilised as a motor fuel to power ship engines and to generate clean power all over the world.

  • The world’s largest plant named Orca, designed to suck carbon dioxide out of the air and turn it into rock, has started running in Iceland.
