SSC CGL 2018 – Recent Updates in the Notification

Dear SSC Aspirants,

SSC (Staff Selection Commission) has announced a update to the recently released SSC CGL 2018 notification. The notification of the SSC CGL 2018 was released on 5th May, 2018 and this update has added significant changes to the Existing notification.

Aspirants can check the official notification of the SSC CGL 2018 from the official website of SSC or from the link that is mentioned below.

The following corrections or additions are made to the existing official notification of the SSC CGL 2018 Exam. Aspirants can read the notification of the SSC CGL Exam 2018 with the additional changes in the appropriate places.

Candidates may please refer to the Notice of Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2018 uploaded on the website of the Commission on 05-05-2018. The following corrections/ additions are  made  in  the  Para  No.  2.1,  7(iii),  9.6.2  and 22 (vii) of the said Examination Notice.

1. Para No. 2.1 – The post of Assistant Section Officer in Intelligence Bureau mentioned at S. No. 4 is not identified suitable for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

2. Para No. 7 (iii) – Women and Persons with Disabilities candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex- Servicemen eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

3. Para No. 9.6.2 – The Commission will hold Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), comprising of three modules – (i) Word Processing, (ii) Spread Sheet and (iii) Generation of Slides, for the posts of Assistant Section Officer of CSS, Assistant Section Officer (MEA), Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines and Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer) & Inspector (Examiner) in CBEC. The CPT will be conducted in the manner decided by the Commission for the purpose. No exemption from CPT is allowed for any category of PwD candidates. CPT will be of qualifying nature.

Detailed instructions regarding CPT will be provided by the Regional/ Sub Regional Offices of the Commission to eligible candidates declared qualified for appearing in the CPT.

4. Para No. 22 (vii) – Fee payable: Rupees one hundred only (Rs.100/-) payable through SBI Challan/ SBI Net Banking or by using Visa, MasterCard or Maestro Credit/ Debit card. Fee is exempted for persons with Disabilities, all Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Ex- Servicemen eligible for reservation.

EXAM PATTERN – SSC CGL EXAM 2018

The exam pattern of the SSC CGL Exam 2018 has been provided below which clearly mentions the schema of the examination in detail.

The Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

Tier -I              –    Computer Based Examination

Tier -II            –    Computer Based Examination

Tier -III          –    Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)

Tier-IV            –   Computer     Proficiency    Test/     Skill    Test (wherever applicable)/ Document Verification
