1. Tamil Nadu Government orders the appointment of four new members to TNPSC

• The Tamil Nadu Government appointed four new members to the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC).

They are:

1. IAS officer S. Munianathan
2. Professor K. Jothi Sivagnanam
3. K. Arulmathi
4. Raj Mariasusai

• Their term would be for six years or till they attain the age of 62.
• TNPSC Secretary: Uma Maheshwari IAS
• TNPSC Controller of Examination: Kiran Kurala IAS

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC)

• Madras Presidency was the first province in India to establish its own service commission. The Madras Service Commission was established in 1929. The Madras Service Commission became the Madras Public Service Commission in 1957. The Madras Public Service Commission was renamed as the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) in 1970.

தமிழ்நாடு அரசுப் பணியாளர் தேர்வாணையம் (TNPSC)

• இந்தியாவில் தனக்கென தனியாக பணியாளர் தேர்வாணையம் அமைத்த முதல் மாகாணம் மதராஸ் மாகாணம்ஆகும். மதராஸ் பணியாளர் தேர்வாணையம் 1929ஆம் ஆண்டு நிறுவப்பட்டது. மதராஸ் பணியாளர் தேர்வாணையம் 1957ஆம் ஆண்டு மதராஸ் அரசுப் பணியாளர் தேர்வாணையமாக மாறியது. மதராஸ் அரசுப் பணியாளர் தேர்வாணையம் 1970ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழ்நாடு அரசுப் பணியாளர் தேர்வாணையம் (TNPSC) என பெயர் மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டது.

2. Tamil Nadu Health Minister inaugurates the pneumococcal vaccine drive for children

• Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian inaugurated the pneumococcal vaccine campaign for children under the age of five years.
• The Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV) is brought under the universal immunisation programme to reduce the death rate in children under five years of age due to pneumonia and meningitis. They are administered free of cost.

Pneumonia

• Pneumonia is one of the major causes of the death of children under the age of five.
• Pneumonia in children is mainly caused by Hemophilus influenza and Streptococcus pneumonia. Hemophilus influenza has now been reduced to 15% due to the Penta vaccine. Streptococcus pneumonia will be reduced with the PCV.

Vaccines under universal immunisation programme:

1. Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV)
2. Rotavirus Vaccine (oral drops)
3. Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV)
4. Penta Vaccine (intramuscular injection)
5. Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine

2. குழந்தைகளுக்கான நியூமோகோக்கல் தடுப்பூசி இயக்கத்தை தமிழ்நாடு சுகாதார அமைச்சர் தொடங்கி வைத்தார்

• தமிழ்நாடு சுகாதார அமைச்சர் மா. சுப்ரமணியன் ஐந்து வயதிற்குட்பட்ட குழந்தைகளுக்கான நியூமோகோக்கல் தடுப்பூசி இயக்கத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.
• நிமோனியா மற்றும் மூளைக்காய்ச்சல் காரணமாக ஐந்து வயதிற்குட்பட்ட குழந்தைகளின் இறப்பு விகிதத்தைக் குறைப்பதற்காக நியூமோகோக்கல் கான்ஜுகேட் தடுப்பூசி (PCV) அனைவருக்கும் தடுப்பூசி இயக்கத்தின் கீழ் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டுள்ளது. இவை இலவசமாக போடப்படுகின்றன.

நிமோனியா

• ஐந்து வயதிற்குட்பட்ட குழந்தைகளின் மரணத்திற்கு நிமோனியா ஒரு முக்கிய காரணமாகும்.
• குழந்தைகளுக்கு நிமோனியா முக்கியமாக ஹீமோபிலஸ் இன்ஃப்ளூயன்சா மற்றும் ஸ்ட்ரெப்டோகாக்கஸ் நிமோனியாவால் ஏற்படுகிறது. பெண்டா தடுப்பூசி காரணமாக ஹீமோபிலஸ் இன்ஃப்ளூயன்சா இப்போது 15%ஆக குறைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. PCV மூலம் ஸ்ட்ரெப்டோகாக்கஸ் நிமோனியா குறைக்கப்படும்.

3. First terracotta ring well with design was unearthed at Keeladi of Tamil Nadu

• First terracotta ring well with design was unearthed at Keeladi excavation site in the Sivagangai district of Tamil Nadu. Ring wells are indicators of the advanced water conservation technology that existed 2,000 years ago.
• Many plain ring wells have been unearthed earlier, but terracotta ring well with thumb impressions creatively carved on a band around its surface is identified for the first time. This indicates the aesthetic sense of the people who lived there. The overall height of the ring well with a 5 cm thick rim is 79 cm.
• Each ring is designed with a locking system to prevent sand from getting in, considering Keeladi’s proximity to the Vaigai river and the sandy terrain of the region.

3. தமிழ்நாட்டின் கீழடியில் அழகிய வேலைப்பாடுகளுடன் கூடிய முதல் சுடுமண் உறைகிணறு கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது

• தமிழ்நாட்டின் சிவகங்கை மாவட்டத்தைச் சேர்ந்த கீழடி அகழ்வாராய்ச்சி தளத்தில் அழகிய வேலைப்பாடுகளுடன் கூடிய முதல் சுடுமண் உறைகிணறு (வளையங்களாலான கிணறு/தொட்டி) கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது. உறைகிணறு என்பது 2,000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இருந்த மேம்பட்ட நீர் பாதுகாப்பு தொழில்நுட்பத்தின் குறிகாட்டிகளாகும்.
• பல வெற்று உறைகிணறுகள் முன்னதாகவே கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. ஆனால் மேற்பரப்பைச் சுற்றி ஆக்கப்பூர்வமாக செதுக்கப்பட்ட கட்டைவிரல் பதிவுகளுடன் கூடிய சுடுமண் உறைகிணறு கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டிருப்பது இதுவே முதல் முறையாகும். இது அங்கு வாழ்ந்த மக்களின் அழகியல் உணர்வைக் குறிக்கிறது. 5 செ.மீ தடிமனான விளிம்பு கொண்ட இந்த உறைகிணற்றின் ஒட்டுமொத்த உயரம் 79 செ.மீ ஆகும்.
• கீழடி, வைகை நதி மற்றும் மணல் நிலப்பரப்புக்கு அருகாமையில் இருப்பதைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, ஒவ்வொரு வளையமும், மணல் உள்ளே நுழைவதைத் தடுக்க ஒருவகை பூட்டு அமைப்புடன் வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

4. Boeing delivers the 10^th P-8I maritime patrol aircraft to Indian Navy

• Aircraft manufacturer Boeing delivered the 10^th long-range maritime reconnaissance anti-submarine warfare aircraft to the Indian Navy. This is the second of the four additional aircrafts contracted under an optional clause in 2016.
• The Indian Navy has also deployed P-8Is for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief

4. 10வது பி-8ஐ கடல்ரோந்து விமானத்தை போயிங் நிறுவனம் இந்திய கடற்படைக்கு வழங்குகிறது

• விமான உற்பத்தியாளர் போயிங், 10வது நீண்ட தூரம் பயணிக்கும் கடல்சார் உளவு நீர்மூழ்கி எதிர்ப்பு போர் விமானத்தை இந்திய கடற்படைக்கு வழங்கியுள்ளது. இது 2016இல் ஒரு விருப்ப விதியின் கீழ் ஒப்பந்தம் செய்யப்பட்ட நான்கு கூடுதல் விமானங்களில் இரண்டாவது விமானம் ஆகும்.

5. Nirmala Sitharaman and Lyonpo Namgay Tshering jointly launch the BHIM–UPI app in Bhutan

• Union Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman and Finance Minister of Bhutan Lyonpo Namgay Tshering jointly launched the BHIM–UPI app in Bhutan.
• Bhutan has become the first country to adopt Unified Payment Interface (UPI) standards for its QR deployment and the only country to both issue and accept RuPay cards as well as accept BHIM UPI.
• It is also the second country after Singapore to have BHIM-UPI acceptance at merchant locations.
• NPCI International Payments Ltd (NIPL), the International arm of the National Payment Corporation of India and Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) of Bhutan, have partnered for enabling and implementing BHIM UPI QR-based payments in Bhutan.

BHIM UPI

• Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM) is a payment app that enables users to make easy and quick transactions using Unified Payments Interface (UPI). 
• It also allows direct bank payments to anyone on UPI using their UPI ID or scanning their QR with the BHIM app. The users can also request money through the app from a UPI ID.
• BHIM uses three-factor authentication. Hence, it is more secure from a consumer point of view.

5. நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் மற்றும் லியன்போ நாம்கே ஷெரிங் இணைந்து பூட்டானில் பீம்–யுபிஐ செயலியைத் தொடங்கி வைத்தனர்

• இந்திய நிதியமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் மற்றும் பூட்டான் நிதியமைச்சர் லியன்போ நாம்கே ஷெரிங் ஆகியோர் கூட்டாகத் பூட்டானில் பீம்–யுபிஐ செயலியைத் தொடங்கி வைத்தனர்.
• பூட்டான் க்யூஆர் (QR) நிலைநிறுத்தலுக்கான ஒருங்கிணைந்த கட்டண இடைமுகம் (UPI) தரங்களை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட முதல் நாடாகியுள்ளது. மேலும் பூட்டான் ரூபே அட்டைகளை வழங்கி, ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட மற்றும் பீம் யுபிஐ செயலியை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட ஒரே நாடு ஆகும்.
• இது சிங்கப்பூருக்குப் பிறகு வணிக இடங்களில் பீம்–யுபிஐ ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட இரண்டாவது நாடு ஆகும்.
• இந்திய தேசிய கொடுப்பனவுக் கழகத்தின் சர்வதேச பிரிவான NPCI சர்வதேச கொடுப்பனவு நிறுவனம் (NIPL) மற்றும் பூட்டானின் ராயல் நாணய ஆணையம் (RMA) ஆகியவை பூட்டானில் பீம் யுபிஐ க்யூஆர் அடிப்படையிலான கொடுப்பனவுகளை செயல்படுத்த கூட்டமைத்துள்ளன.

பீம் யுபிஐ (BHIM UPI)

• பாரத் பண இடைமுகம் (Bharat Interface for Money-BHIM) என்பது பயனர்கள் ஒருங்கிணைந்த கட்டண இடைமுகத்தை (யுபிஐ) பயன்படுத்தி எளிதான மற்றும் விரைவான பரிவர்த்தனைகளை செய்ய உதவும் ஒரு கட்டண பயன்பாடாகும்.
• இது யுபிஐ-இல் உள்ள எவருக்கும் அவர்களின் யுபிஐ அடையாளம் அல்லது பீம் செயலி மூலம் தங்கள் க்யூஆர்-ஐ (QR) ஸ்கேன் செய்து நேரடி வங்கி பணம் செலுத்த அனுமதிக்கிறது. பயனர்கள் யுபிஐ பயன்பாட்டின் மூலம் பணம் கோரலாம்.

6. NTPC plans to set up India’s single largest solar park at Rann of Kutch

• National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is planning to set up 4750 MW renewable energy park at Rann of Kutch in Khavada, Gujarat. This will be India’s largest solar park.
• Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has given permission to NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL), a subsidiary of NTPC, for this project.
• NTPC Ltd, India’s largest energy company, aims to build 60 GW renewable energy capacity by 2032.
• NTPC is a Maharatna PSU underthe Union Ministry of Power.

Recent projects of NTPC:

• NTPC has successfully commissioned India’s largest floating solar plant of 10 MW in Simhadri Thermal Power Plant, Andhra Pradesh.
• A 100 MW floating solar project on the reservoir of Ramagundam Thermal Power Plant, Telangana, is in the stage of implementation.

• இந்தியாவின் மிகப்பெரிய எரிசக்தி நிறுவனமான என்.டி.பி.சி, 2032ஆம் ஆண்டுக்குள் 60 ஜிகாவாட் புதுப்பிக்கத்தக்க எரிசக்தி திறனை உருவாக்குவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.

• தெலுங்கானாவில் உள்ள ராமகுண்டம் அனல் மின் நிலையத்தில் 100 மெகாவாட் உற்பத்தி திறன் கொண்ட மிதக்கும் சூரிய சக்தி திட்டம் கட்டப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

7. NTPC signs an MoU with Ladakh and LAHDC to set up India’s first Green Hydrogen Mobility Project

• REL (Renewable Energy Ltd), a 100% subsidiary of NTPC, a Maharatna PSU under the Union Ministry of Power, signed a memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Union Territory of Ladakh and LAHDC (Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh) to set up the country’s first Green Hydrogen Mobility project.
• Leh is soon to become India’s first city to implement a green hydrogen-based mobility project with zero-emission in the form of solar trees and a solar carport.

8. Sher Bahadur Deuba was sworn in as Nepal’s Prime Minister

• Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed Sher Bahadur Deuba as the Prime Minister of Nepal for the 5^th time. He was appointed as the Prime Minister as per the verdict of the Supreme court of Nepal.
• Deuba succeeded Sharma Oli, who lost the vote of confidence last month.

8. நேபாள பிரதமராக ஷெர் பகதூர் தியூபா பதவியேற்றார்

• நேபாள பிரதமராக ஷெர் பகதூர் தியூபாவை நேபாள அதிபர் பித்யா தேவி பண்டாரி 5வது முறையாக நியமித்தார். நேபாள உச்ச நீதிமன்ற தீர்ப்பின்படி அவர் பிரதமராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.
• கடந்த மாதம் நம்பிக்கை வாக்கெடுப்பில் தோல்வியடைந்த ஷர்மா ஒலிக்கு பிறகு தியூபா பதவியேற்கிறார்.

11. The Passing of the Quit India Movement Resolution – 14 July 1942

• Mahatma Gandhi framed the Quit India Movement Resolution after the failure of the Cripps Mission.
• The resolution was successfully passed in the Congress Working Committee Meeting at Wardha on 14 July 1942.
• The resolution was ratified at the Congress meeting at Gowalia Tank on 8 August 1942.
• Gandhi gave the slogan “Do or Die” during the Quit India movement.

11. வெள்ளையனே வெளியேறு இயக்க தீர்மானம் நிறைவேற்றம் – 14 ஜூலை 1942

• மகாத்மா காந்தி, கிரிப்ஸ் தூதுக்குழுவின் தோல்விக்குப் பிறகு, வெள்ளையனே வெளியேறு இயக்க தீர்மானத்தை உருவாக்கினார்.
• 14 ஜூலை 1942 அன்று வார்தாவில் நடைபெற்ற காங்கிரஸ் செயற்குழுக் கூட்டத்தில் இந்த தீர்மானம் வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது.
• 8 ஆகஸ்ட் 1942 அன்று கோவாலியா குளத்தில் நடைபெற்ற காங்கிரஸ் கூட்டத்தில் இந்த தீர்மானம் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்டது.
