1. Union Agriculture Minister launches Cluster Development Programme and Theni is one among the 12 clusters

• Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched the first 12 out of 53 horticulture clusters in the country to make them globally competitive. Theni of Tamilnadu is one among the 12 clusters.
• Cluster Development Programme (CDP) for horticulture is launched in 12 clusters. It aims at growing and developing identified horticulture value chain clusters to make them globally competitive.
• National Horticulture Board acts as a nodal agency for the scheme. These clusters will be implemented through Cluster Development Agencies (CDAs), which are appointed on the recommendations of the respective State/Union Territory government.

The clusters chosen for the pilot phase are:

• Shopian (J&K) and Kinnaur (HP) for Apple
• Lucknow (UP), Kutch (Gujarat) and Mahbubnagar (Telangana) for Mango
• Anantpur (AP) and Theni (TN) for Banana
• Nasik (Maharashtra) for Grapes
• Siphahijala (Tripura) for Pineapple
• Solapur (Maharashtra) and Chitradurga (Karnataka) for Pomegranate
• West Jaintia Hills (Meghalaya) for Turmeric

1. மத்திய வேளாண் அமைச்சர் தொகுப்பு மேம்பாட்டுத் திட்டத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்தார், 12 தொகுப்புகளில் தேனியும் ஒன்றாகும்

• மத்திய வேளாண் அமைச்சர் நரேந்திர சிங் தோமர் நாட்டில் உள்ள 53 தோட்டக்கலை குழுமங்களில் முதல் 12 குழுமங்களை உலகளாவிய போட்டித்திறன் மிக்கதாக மாற்றுவதற்காக தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.  12 தொகுப்புகளில் தமிழ்நாட்டின் தேனியும் ஒன்றாகும்.
• தோட்டக்கலைக்கான தொகுப்பு மேம்பாட்டுத் திட்டம் 12 குழுமங்களில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. இது அடையாளம் காணப்பட்ட தோட்டக்கலை மதிப்புசங்கிலி குழுமங்களை உலகளவில் போட்டித்திறன் மிக்கதாக மாற்றுவதை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.

REPORTS AND INDICES

2. Index of Eight Core Industries Contracts 6.5% in FY21

• Index of Eight Core Industries (ICI) for April 2021 is released by the Office of Economic Adviser, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
• The combined ICI stood at 126.7 in April 2021, which increased by 56.1% (provisional) as compared to the Index of April 2020. This high growth rate in April 2021 is largely due to the low Index base in April 2020 consequent to the low industrial production across all sectors caused by nationwide lockdown imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19 last year.
• The month over month production of eight core industries, as captured by ICI, declined by 1% (P) in April 2021 compared to March 2021 (P) due to the emergence of the second wave of infectious COVID-19.
• The final growth rate of the Index of Eight Core Industries for January 2021 is revised to 3% from its provisional level of 0.1 %. The growth rate of ICI during April-March 2020-21 was (-) 6.5% (P) as compared to the corresponding period of last FY.

Eight Core Industries

• The eight-core sector industries are coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertiliser, steel, cement, and electricity.

2. எட்டு முக்கிய தொழில் நிறுவனங்களின் குறியீடு 21ஆம் நிதியாண்டில் 6.5% சுருங்கியுள்ளது

• ஏப்ரல் 2021 எட்டு முக்கிய தொழில் நிறுவனங்களின் குறியீட்டெண்  தொழில் மற்றும் உள்நாட்டு வர்த்தகத் துறை கீழ் உள்ள பொருளாதார ஆலோசகர் அலுவலகத்தால் வெளியிடப்படுகிறது.
• 2020 ஏப்ரல் சுட்டெண்களுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் 1% (தற்காலிகமாக) அதிகரித்தது 2021 ஏப்ரலில் 126.7 ஆக இருந்தது. 2021 ஏப்ரலில் இந்த உயர் வளர்ச்சி விகிதம், கடந்த ஆண்டு கோவிட்-19 பரவலைக் கட்டுப்படுத்துவதற்காக போடப்பட்ட நாடு தழுவிய பொதுமுடக்கத்தால் அனைத்து துறைகளிலும் குறைந்த தொழில்துறை உற்பத்தி காரணமாக ஏப்ரல் 2020இல் குறைந்த குறியீட்டு அடித்தளத்தால் ஏற்பட்டது.
• எட்டு முக்கிய தொழில்களின் மாத உற்பத்தி, 2021 மார்ச் மாதத்துடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் ஏப்ரல் 2021இல் 15.1% (பி) சரிந்தது, ஏனெனில் அப்போது கோவிட்-19 தொற்றின் இரண்டாவது அலை தோன்றியது.
• 2021 ஜனவரி மாதத்திற்கான எட்டு முக்கிய தொழில் நிறுவனங்களின் குறியீட்டின் வளர்ச்சி வீதம் அதன் தற்காலிக மட்டமான 1% இலிருந்து 1.3% ஆக திருத்தியமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 2020-21 ஏப்ரல்-மார்ச் வரையிலான காலத்தில் வளர்ச்சி விகிதம் கடந்த நிதியாண்டின் இதே காலகட்டத்துடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் (-) 6.5% (பி)ஆக இருந்தது.

எட்டு முக்கிய தொழில் நிறுவனங்கள்

• நிலக்கரி, கச்சா எண்ணெய், இயற்கை எரிவாயு, சுத்திகரிப்பு பொருட்கள், உரம், எஃகு, சிமெண்ட் மற்றும் மின்சாரம் ஆகியவை எட்டு முக்கிய தொழில் துறைகளாகும்.

3. Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers Eases to 5.14% In April

• All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (Base year: 2016) for April 2021 increased to 120.1 points compared to 119.6 points for March 2021.
• However, inflation for April 2021 went down to 14% compared to 5.64% of the previous month.
• Food inflation also declined to 78% from 5.36% in the previous month. The All-India CPI-IW for April 2021 increased by 0.5 points and stood at 120.1. On 1-month percentage change, it increased by 0.42% with respect to the previous month compared to an increase of 0.92% recorded between corresponding months a year ago.

• Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers is released by the Labour Bureau.

3. தொழிலாளர்களுக்கான நுகர்வோர் விலைக் குறியீட்டெண் ஏப்ரலில் 5.14% ஆக குறைந்துள்ளது

• 2021ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் மாதத்திற்கான அகில இந்திய நுகர்வோர் விலைக் குறியீட்டெண் (அடிப்படை ஆண்டு: 2016) மார்ச் 2021க்கான 6 புள்ளிகளுடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் 120.1 புள்ளிகளாக அதிகரித்துள்ளது.
• இருப்பினும், 2021 ஏப்ரலுக்கான பணவீக்கம் முந்தைய மாதத்தின் 5.64% உடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் 14% ஆக குறைந்துள்ளது.
• உணவுப் பணவீக்கமும் முந்தைய மாதத்தில்36% ஆக இருந்ததில் இருந்து 4.78% ஆக குறைந்தது. ஏப்ரல் 2021க்கான அகில இந்திய CPI-IW 0.5 புள்ளிகள் அதிகரித்து  120.1 ஆக இருந்தது. இது ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு முன்பு இதே மாதங்களுக்கு இடையில் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்ட 0.92% அதிகரிப்புடன் ஒப்பிடுகையில் 1 மாத சதவீத மாற்றத்தில், இது முந்தைய மாதத்தைப் பொறுத்தவரை 0.42% அதிகரித்துள்ளது.

4. Provisional Estimates of National Income – Indian Economy contracts 7.3% in FY21

• The National Statistical Office (NSO), Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, has released the Provisional Estimates of National Income for the financial year 2020-21, both at Constant (2011-12) and Current Prices.
• Real GDP or Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at Constant (2011-12) Prices in the year 2020-21 is now estimated to attain a level of 135.13 lakh crores, as against the First Revised Estimate of GDP for the year 2019-20 of Rs. 145.69 lakh crores, released on 29 January 2021. The growth in GDP during 2020-21 is estimated at –7.3% as compared to 4% in 2019-20.
• GDP at Current Prices in the year 2020-21 is estimated to attain a level of Rs. 197.46 lakh crores, as against the First Revised Estimates of Rs. 203.51 lakh crore in 2019-20, showing a change of -3.0% as compared to 7.8% in 2019-20. GDP at Constant (2011-12) Prices in Q4 of 2020-21 is estimated at Rs. 38.96 lakh crore, as against Rs. 38.33 lakh crore in Q4 of 2019-20, showing a growth of 1.6%.

4. தேசிய வருமானத்தின் தற்காலிக மதிப்பீடுகள் – இந்திய பொருளாதாரம் 21ஆம் நிதியாண்டில் 7.3% சுருங்கியுள்ளது

• புள்ளியியல் மற்றும் திட்ட அமலாக்க அமைச்சகத்தின் தேசிய புள்ளியியல் அலுவலகம் (NSO), 2020-21ஆம் நிதியாண்டிற்கான தேசிய வருமானத்தின் தற்காலிக மதிப்பீடுகளை நிலையான (2011-12) மற்றும் தற்போதைய விலைகள் ஆகிய இரண்டிலும் வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
• நிலையான விலை (2011-12)இல் உண்மையான மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தி அல்லது மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தி (GDP) 2020-21ஆம் ஆண்டில்  ரூ. 13 லட்சம் கோடி, 2019-20ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தியின் முதல் திருத்தப்பட்ட மதிப்பீட்டிற்கு எதிராக ரூ. 145.69 லட்சம் கோடி, 2021 ஜனவரி 29 அன்று வெளியிடப்பட்டது. 2019-20ஆம் ஆண்டில்  4% ஆக இருந்த மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தியின் வளர்ச்சி –7.3% என மதிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• 2020-21ஆம் ஆண்டில் நடப்பு விலைகளில் மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தி ரூ. 46 லட்சம் கோடி, 2019-20ஆம் ஆண்டில் ரூ.203.51 லட்சம் கோடி முதல் திருத்தப்பட்ட மதிப்பீடுகளுக்கு எதிராக, 2019-20ஆம் ஆண்டில் 7.8% ஆக இருந்த நிலையில் – 3.0% மாற்றத்தைக் காட்டுகிறது. கான்ஸ்டன்ட் (2011-12) மொத்த உள்நாட்டு உற்பத்தி 2020-21ஆம் ஆண்டின் நான்காம் காலாண்டில் விலை ரூ.38.96 லட்சம் கோடியாக மதிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது, இது 2019-20ஆம் ஆண்டின் நான்காம் காலாண்டில் ரூ.38.33 லட்சம் கோடியாக இருந்தது, இது 1.6% வளர்ச்சியைக் காட்டுகிறது.

5. Scientists develop efficient Artificial Synaptic Network that Mimics Human Brain

• Scientists from Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bengaluru, an autonomous institute of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India,devised a novel approach of fabricating an artificial synaptic network (ASN) resembling the biological neural network via a simple self-forming method (the device structure is formed by itself while heating).
• This work has been recently published in the journal ‘Materials Horizons’. This self-forming process was easy, scalable, and cost-effective.

5. விஞ்ஞானிகள் மனித மூளையை பிரதிபலிக்கும் திறமையான செயற்கை சினாப்டிக் வலையமைப்பை உருவாக்கியுள்ளனர்

• மத்திய அரசின் அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பத் துறையின் தன்னாட்சி நிறுவனமான பெங்களூருவில் உள்ள ஜவஹர்லால் நேரு மேம்பட்ட அறிவியல் ஆராய்ச்சி மையத்தைச் சேர்ந்த விஞ்ஞானிகள், உயிரியல் நரம்பியல் வலையமைப்பை ஒத்த செயற்கையான இணைவு வலையமைப்பை (ASN) ஒரு எளிய சுய-உருவாக்கும் முறை மூலம் (வெப்பப்படுத்தும் போது சாதன அமைப்பு தானாகவே உருவாக்கப்படுகிறது)  உருவாக்கும் ஒரு புதுமையான அணுகுமுறையை உருவாக்கினர்.
• இந்த படைப்பு சமீபத்தில் ‘மெட்டீரியல்ஸ் ஹாரிஸான்ஸ்‘ இதழில் வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த சுய உருவாக்கும் செயல்முறை எளிதானது, அளவிடக்கூடியது, மற்றும் செலவு குறைந்தது.

APPOINTMENTS

6. J. B. Mohapatra to be interim chief of CBDT

• The Central Government appointed B. Mohapatra as the interim chief of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for three months.
• CBDT chairman C. Mody’s extended tenure ended on 31 May.
• The government recently appointed Anu J Singh, Mohapatra and Anuja Sarangi as members of the body. All the three are 1985 batch of Indian Revenue Service income tax cadre officials.

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT):

• CBDT was created under the Central Boards of Revenue Act, 1963. It is a part of the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance.
• It provides inputs for policy and planning of direct taxes in India. It administers direct tax laws through the Income Tax Department.
• Direct Taxes include income tax, corporation tax etc. GST is an indirect tax.

6. ஜே. பி. மொஹபத்ரா மத்திய நேரடி வரிகள் வாரியத்தின் இடைக்கால தலைவராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார்

• மத்திய நேரடி வரிகள் வாரியத்தின் (CBDT) இடைக்கால தலைவராக ஜே. பி. மொஹபத்ராவை மத்திய அரசு மூன்று மாதங்களுக்கு நியமித்துள்ளது.
• சிபிடிடி தலைவர் பி. சி. மோடியின் நீட்டிக்கப்பட்ட பதவிக்காலம் 31 மே அன்று முடிவடைந்தது.
• அரசு சமீபத்தில் அனு ஜே சிங், மொஹபத்ரா மற்றும் அனுஜா சாரங்கியை இந்த அமைப்பின் உறுப்பினர்களாக நியமித்தது. இந்த மூவரும் 1985ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய வருவாய் சேவை வருமான வரி அதிகாரிகளின் ஆவர்.

மத்திய நேரடி வரிகள் வாரியம் (சிபிடிடி):

• மத்திய வருவாய் வாரியங்கள் சட்டம், 1963ன் கீழ், மத்திய நேரடி வரிகள் வாரியம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது. இது நிதி அமைச்சின் கீழ் உள்ள வரித்துறையின் ஒரு பகுதியாகும்.
• இந்தியாவில் நேரடி வரிவிதிப்பு கொள்கை மற்றும் திட்டமிடலுக்கான உள்ளீடுகளை இது வழங்குகிறது. இது வருமான வரித் துறை மூலம் நேரடி வரிச் சட்டங்களை நிர்வகிக்கிறது.
• நேரடி வரிகளில் வருமான வரி, பெருநகர மாநகராட்சி வரி போன்றவை அடங்கும். ஜிஎஸ்டி ஒரு மறைமுக வரி.

7. Justice A.K. Mishra to head NHRC

• Former Supreme Court Judge Arun Kumar Mishra is appointed as the new Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
• He replaced Prafulla Chandra Pant, who was the Acting Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission.

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC):

• NHRC is a statutory body established on 12 October 1993 under the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.

Composition:

• Chairperson: Retired Chief Justice of India or a Judge of the Supreme Court.
• Chairperson and the members are appointed by the President on the recommendations of a six-member committee.
• The select committee consists of

1. Prime Minister (Head)
2. Speaker of the Lok Sabha
3. Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha
4. Leaders of the Opposition in both the Houses of Parliament
5. Union Home Minister.

7. தேசிய மனித உரிமைகள் ஆணையத்தின் தலைவராக நீதிபதி ஏ.கே.மிஸ்ரா நியமனம்

• தேசிய மனித உரிமைகள் ஆணையத்தின் (NHRC)யின் புதிய தலைவராக முன்னாள் உச்ச நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதி அருண் குமார் மிஸ்ரா நியமிக்கப்பட்டார்.
• அவர் தேசிய மனித   உரிமைகள் ஆணையத்தின் தற்காலிக தலைவராக நியமிக்கப்பட்ட பிரபுல்லா சந்திர பந்த்திற்குப் பிறகு பதவியேற்பார்.

தேசிய மனித உரிமைகள் ஆணையம் (NHRC):

• தேசிய மனித உரிமைகள் ஆணையம், மனித உரிமைகள் பாதுகாப்பு சட்டம், 1993இன் கீழ் 12 அக்டோபர் 1993 அன்று நிறுவப்பட்ட ஒரு சட்டரீதியான அமைப்பாகும்.

அமைப்பு:

• தலைவர்: ஓய்வு பெற்ற தலைமை நீதிபதி அல்லது உச்ச நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதி.
• ஆறு பேர் கொண்ட குழுவின் பரிந்துரைகளின் பேரில் தலைவர் மற்றும் உறுப்பினர்கள் குடியரசுத் தலைவரால் நியமிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்.
• தேர்வுக் குழுவில் அடங்கியோர்:

8. Global Parents Day – 1 June

• Global Parents Day is designated by the UN General Assembly in 2012.
• The United Nations established this day to recognise the critical role of parents in the nurturing and protection of children.

8. சர்வதேச பெற்றோர் தினம் – 1 ஜூன்

• சர்வதேச பெற்றோர் தினம் ஐ.நா. பொதுச் சபையால் 2012இல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
• குழந்தைகளை வளர்ப்பது, மற்றும் குழந்தைகளைப் பாதுகாப்பதில் பெற்றோரின் முக்கிய பங்கை அங்கீகரிக்க ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை இந்த நாளை நிறுவியது.
• 2021 கருப்பொருள்: ‘உலகம் முழுவதும் அனைத்து பெற்றோர்கள் பாராட்டவும்’

9. World Milk Day – 1 June

• World Milk Day is observed on 1 June every year. The day aims to educate people about the importance of milk and focus on activities that are connected to the dairy sector.
• World Milk Day was established in 2001 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
• 2021 Theme: ‘Sustainability in the dairy sector with messages around the environment, nutrition, and socio-economics’

9. உலக பால் தினம் – 1 ஜூன்

• உலக பால் தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 1 ஜூன் அன்று அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.   பாலின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை மக்களுக்கு உணர்த்துவதையும்,  பால் துறையுடன் தொடர்புடைய நடவடிக்கைகளில் கவனம் செலுத்துவதையும் இந்த நாள் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
• உலக பால் தினம் 2001ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபையின் உணவு மற்றும் விவசாய அமைப்பால் நிறுவப்பட்டது.

10. Neelam Sanjeev Reddy death anniversary – 1 June

• Neelam Sanjeev Reddy was the sixth President of India. He worked with Prime Ministers Moraji Desai, Charan Singh and Indira Gandhi.
• He is the first Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra province. He was the first Chief Minister in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He died on 1 June 1996.
• Book written by Reddy: Without Fear or Favour: Reminiscences and Reflections of a President

10. நீலம் சஞ்சீவ் ரெட்டி நினைவு நாள் – 1 ஜூன்

• நீலம் சஞ்சீவ் ரெட்டி இந்தியாவின் ஆறாவது குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ஆவார். அவர் மொராஜி தேசாய், சரண் சிங் மற்றும் இந்திரா காந்தி ஆகிய பிரதமர்களுடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்றியுள்ளார்.
• ஆந்திர மாகாணத்தின் முதல் துணை முதல்வர் ஆவார். ஆந்திரப் பிரதேச மாநிலத்தில் முதல் முதலமைச்சராக இருந்தார். அவர்  1 ஜூன் 1996 அன்று இறந்தார்.

11. Satyendranath Tagore birthday – 1 June

• Satyendranath Tagore was born on 1 June 1842. He is the first ICS (Indian Civil Service) officer of India in 1863. He is the elder brother of Rabindranath Tagore.
• He translated Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Sant Tukaram’s poems into Bengali

11. சத்யேந்திரநாத் தாகூர் பிறந்த நாள் – 1 ஜூன்

• சத்யேந்திரநாத் தாகூர் 1 ஜூன் 1842இல் பிறந்தார். இவர் 1863ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்தியாவின் முதல் இந்திய குடிமைப்பணி அதிகாரி (ICS) ஆவார்.  அவர் ரவீந்திரநாத் தாகூரின் மூத்த சகோதரர் ஆவார்.
• இவர் பால கங்காதர திலகர் மற்றும் சந்த் துக்கராமின் கவிதைகளை வங்காள மொழியில் மொழிபெயர்த்தார்.
