TNPSC (TamilNadu Public Service Commission) has now announced the most expected notification of TNPSC Group II – Interview post 2018 now. Applications are invited only through online mode up to 09.09.2018 for direct recruitment to the posts included in Combined Civil Services Examination–II (Interview Posts) (Group-II Services) [Service Code No.004].

The Online Registration for the TNPSC Group II (Interview) posts will end on 9th September, 2018. Aspirants can start applying during the initial days of the Online Registration Process as there are chances of heavy usage of the website in the last week of the Registration process.

The rule of reservation of appointment is applicable for this recruitment except to the shortfall vacancies. 4% reservation will be followed  for the Differently Abled  Persons for the  posts included in CCSE-II services (Group-II Services)(Interview Posts), as identified in the G.O.(Ms) No. 51, dated 26.12.2017 & G.O.(Ms) No.20, dated 20.06.2018 Welfare of Differently Abled Persons (DAP.3.2) Department.” (ANNEXURE -III). Applicants should possess the following or its equivalent qualification awarded by any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission or the State Board, as the case may be.

(According to G.O.Ms.No.139, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (Per.M) Department, dated 07.10.2009, the applicants who possess the professional degree are eligible to this recruitment except for the posts of Industrial Co-Operative Officer in the Industries and Commerce Department, Assistant Section Officer in Law Department in Secretariat, Assistant Section Officer in Finance Department in Secretariat, Assistant Section Officer Cum- Programmer in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission and Revenue Assistant in the Revenue Department in various Revenue Units- Annexure V).

  1. The educational qualification prescribed for this recruitment should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies 10th + HSC or its equivalent + U.G. degree / degree in Law. P.G degree as the case may be as required in Section 25 of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016. (Results of the prescribed Educational qualification and preferential qualification should have been declared on or before the date of Notification)
  2. Applicants claiming equivalence of qualification to the prescribed qualification should upload and submit evidence for equivalence of qualification in the form of G.O. issued prior to the date of this notification when called for, failing which, their application will be summarily rejected. The G.Os issued regarding equivalence of prescribed qualification after the date of this notification will not be accepted.

Applicants should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil.


  • Concessions in the matter of age and/or fees allowed to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs(OBCM), BCMs, Destitute Widows, Differently Abled Persons, Ex-Servicemen and other categories of persons etc.,.
  • Persons claiming concessions referred to above and other claims made in the application have to produce evidence for such claim when called for, otherwise his/her application will be liable for rejection.

Note :

In all cases, an Ex-Serviceman once recruited to a post in any class or service or category,  cannot claim the concession of being called an Ex-Serviceman for his further recruitment (Section 3 ( j ) of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016).


The selection will be  made  in  three  successive  stages  viz.,

(i)  Preliminary  Examination for selection of candidates for admission to the Main Written Examination

(ii) Main Written Examination and

(iii) an Oral Test in the shape of an Interview.

The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Written Examination will  not  be  counted  for  determining  their  final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination will be 10 times the number of candidates to be recruited having  regard to  the rule of reservation of appointments. However, in each reservation group, all the candidates who secure the same marks as that of cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of  candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:10 ratio.

Note :

  1. First, the selection will be made for the carried forward vacancies. [Section 27 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016]
  2. Secondly, the selection will be made for regular vacancies following the rule of reservation.
  3. Thirdly, the selection against shortfall vacancies will be made from among SC/ST applicants only. The reservation for Women, Ex-servicemen and Differently Abled Persons will not be applicable for the recruitment of shortfall vacancies. [Section 27(h) of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016].


a) Registration Fee

For One Time Registration (Revised with effect from 01.03.2017 vide G.O.(Ms).No.32, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (M) Department, dated 01.03.2017).


 Applicants who have already registered in One Time Registration system within the validity period of five years are exempted.



b) Examination Fee

For Preliminary Examination only For Main Written Examination

The Examination fee should be paid at the time of submitting the online

application for this recruitment if they are not eligible for the fee concession noted below.




It is mandatory for the applicants to register their basic particulars through One Time Online Registration system on payment of Rs. 150/- (Rupees One Hundred and Fifty only) towards registration fee and then should apply online for this recruitment. [The One Time Registration will be valid for 5 years from the date of registration. Thereafter, the registration should be renewed by paying the prescribed fee.]
