Indian Army holds annual ‘Exercise Topchi’ :

  • Indian Army showcased its artillery firepower by using ultra light Howitzers and indigenous Swathi weapon-locating radar at the annual “Exercise Topchi”.
  • The exercise was held at Deolali Camp near Nashik. The aviation and surveillance capabilities were also showcased.The precision displayed while delivering the explosives in the target area stunned all those present.

AYUSH Minister launches e-AUSHADHI portal for Online :

  • Minister of State (IC) for AYUSH, Shri Shripad Yesso Naik launched the e-AUSHADHI portal, for online licensing of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy drugs and related matters at New Delhi.
  • This e-AUSHADHI portal is intended for increased transparency, improved information management facility, improved data usability and increased accountability.

India’s First Aqua Mega Food Park Commissioned in Andhra Pradesh :

  • Harsimrat Kaur Badal – Union Minister of Food Processing Industries commissioned Godavari Mega Aqua Food Park at Tundurru Village in Bhimavaram Mandal, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh through video conferencing.
  • The park is promoted by Godavari Mega Aqua Food Park Pvt. Ltd. It will be the first Mega Aqua Food Park operationalised exclusively for fish and marine products processing in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

3rd Indo-German Environment Forum held in New Delhi :

  • Bilateral meeting between India and Germany 3rd Indo-German Environment Forum held in New Delhi.
  • The outcomes of discussion made in Indo-German Working Group held in Delhi , taken up to higher alliance discussed in the forum.
  • Both the countries agreed to work together on developing reference document for Textile Sector, air, water governance, Marine litter, waste to energy, bio-methanation, landfill sites, water quality management, training and capacity building of local bodies and circular economy.

Centre to set up a national law university in Uttarakhand :

  • The Centre has decided to set up a national law university in Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has announced that the national law university will be opened in Uttarakhand. This is a big step toward making Uttarakhand a quality education hub.

Macedonia officially changes name to North Macedonia :

  • The country formerly known as the Republic of Macedonia officially changed its name to the Republic of North Macedonia on paper ending a decades-long dispute that should pave the way for NATO membership.
  • The freshly named country celebrated the event with a flag-raising ceremony marking its prospective – and long-awaited – accession to NATO.

  • The objective is to resolve several sore trade points, including the concerns of American CEOs regarding doing business in India and bilateral trade imbalance.

  • The CEO and Managing director of Eicher Motors, Siddhartha Lal has been named the EY Entrepreneur of the Year for 2018 in Mumbai.
  • He was responsible for a huge turnaround of the Eicher Motors after he had taken over the reins in 2006.
  • The Chairman of Wipro Mr. Azim Premji was awarded Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution in the Indian information technology industry and his contribution in the Indian information technology industry and his philanthropic works.

Australian Cricket Awards 2019 held in Melbourne :

  • off-spinner Nathan Lyon named Test player of the year at Australian Cricket Awards 2019 held in Melbourne, Australia.
  • Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis won T20I and ODI Player of the year respectively.It is the second T20I honour in the career of Glenn Maxwell.
  • He won the honour of the first time in 2015. The inaugural women’s T20I Player of the year by Alyssa Healy.

Clouded Leopard will be mascot for National Games 2022 in Meghalaya :

  • Meghalaya’s state animal Clouded Leopard will be the mascot for the National Games 2022 coinciding with the 50th year of the creation of the state.
  • This decision was taken at the first National Games 2022 executive committee meeting chaired by Meghalaya Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh.
  • Clouded leopard is one of the wild cats that live throughout the forests of Garo, Khasi and Jaintia Hills.

Dominant Medvedev clinches Sofia Open title:

  • Russia’s Daniil Medvedev has achieved his fourth ATP title after a triumph against finalist Hungary’s Morton Fucsovics in the Finale of Sofia Open 2019.
  • The 2019 Sofia Open was the 4th edition of the Sofia open as part of the 2019 ATP Tour, which was held at the Arena Armeec in Sofia, Bulgaria, from February 5-11.

England World Cup-winner Gordon Banks dies aged 81 :

  • Gordon Banks, the goalkeeper in England’s 1966 World Cup-winning team, has died at the age of 81.He won World Cup in 1966.He was widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers to have played the game.
