Government will provide Rs 1 lakh crore DBT scheme in 2017-18:

The central government is targeting to disburse Rs 1 lakh crore through direct benefit transfer (DBT) in the current financial year even as total pay-outs under the scheme since its launch is set to touch Rs 2 lakh crore this month-end.

 

 


BSF operation ‘Garam Hawa’:

The BSF has started operation ‘Garam Hawa’ in the western sector in Rajasthan, under which vigil along the international border with Pakistan has been stepped up. The operation will continue till May 23. The Operation main aim is to reinforce and strengthen the BSF’s vigil along the border during the summer.

 

 


Raneh waterfall awarded Best Holiday Award:

The Raneh waterfall near Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh has been awarded the Best Holiday Award for 2017. The waterfall is also close to Panna Tiger Reserve and Ken crocodile sanctuary in the state.

 


Cabinet Committee approved to build 10 atomic reactors

Cabinet Committee gave nod to build 10 indigenous Pressurised Heavy water reactors in order to boost the nuclear power generation in the country. Each reactor will have the capacity to produce 700 MW of electricity.

India’s leading digital wallet player Paytm has received the final licence from the Reserve Bank of India for its payments bank entity. Paytm Payments Bank Limited will begin its banking operations from May 23, 2017.

Banks have Rs.770 crore unrecognised stressed asset:

   India ratings and research estimates that Rs.2.6 lakh crore of corporate and SME loans (3.2% of total bank credit) will be recognised as stressed loans by FY19 whereas unrecognised stressed loans estimated a Rs.770 crore.
