1. Chief Minister renames various departments of Tamil Nadu

• Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has changed the names of various departments to reflect the dynamic changes that have taken place globally. A separate Ministry called the Ministry of Water Resources was formed from the existing Ministry of Public Works, to address the water requirements of the State.

• உலகளவில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள ஆற்றல்மிக்க மாற்றங்களை பிரதிபலிக்கும் வகையில் பல்வேறு துறைகளின் பெயர்களை முதல்வர் மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் மாற்றியுள்ளார். மாநிலத்தின் நீர்த் தேவைகளைப் பூர்த்தி செய்ய, தற்போதுள்ள பொதுப்பணித் துறை அமைச்சகத்திலிருந்து நீர்வள ஆதாரத் துறை என்ற தனி அமைச்சகம்  உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

2. Muthuvel Karunanithi Stalin sworn in as the 11^th Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu

• MK Stalin contested in the election for the first time in 1984 in the Thousand Lights constituency but he was defeated. He won in the same constituency in 1989.
• He was elected as the 37^th Mayor in 1996.
• He became the Rural development and local administration Minister in 2006.
• He became the first Vice Chief Minister in 2009.
• He became the Leader of the Opposition Party in 2016

2. 11வது தமிழக முதல்வராக முத்துவேல் கருணாநிதி ஸ்டாலின் பதவியேற்பு

• மு.க.ஸ்டாலின் 1984ஆம் ஆண்டு தேர்தலில் ஆயிரம் விளக்கு தொகுதியில் போட்டியிட்டார், ஆனால் அவர் தோற்கடிக்கப்பட்டார். 1989ஆம் ஆண்டு அதே தொகுதியில் வெற்றி பெற்றார்.
• அவர் 1996இல் 37வது மேயராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார்.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participates in European Council meeting as a special invitee

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the meeting of the European Council as a special invitee.
• The India-EU Leaders’ Meeting is being hosted by Prime Minister of Portugal Antonio Costa. Portugal currently holds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Modi will participate in the meeting along with the Heads of State or Government, of all the 27 EU Member States.

3. ஐரோப்பிய கவுன்சில் கூட்டத்தில் சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளராக பிரதமர்  நரேந்திர மோடி பங்கேற்கிறார்

• ஐரோப்பிய கவுன்சிலின் கூட்டத்தில் பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி சிறப்பு அழைப்பாளராக பங்கேற்கிறார்.
• இந்தியா-ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றிய தலைவர்கள் கூட்டத்தை போர்ச்சுகல் பிரதமர் அன்டோனியோ கோஸ்டா தொகுத்து வழங்குகிறார். போர்ச்சுகல் தற்போது ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றியத்தின் கவுன்சிலின் தலைமையை வகிக்கிறது. 27 ஐரோப்பிய ஒன்றிய உறுப்பு நாடுகளின் அரசுத் தலைவர்களுடன் மோடி இந்த கூட்டத்தில் பங்கேற்கிறார்.

4. UN Chief honours Indian peacekeeper Yuvraj Singh, who died in line of duty in 2020

• UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres honoured Indian UN Peacekeeping officer Yuvraj Singh, who died in line of duty in 2020, during the UN annual Memorial Service 2021.

4. 2020இல் பணியிலிருக்கும்போது இறந்த இந்திய அமைதிகாக்கும் படைவீரர் யுவராஜ் சிங்கிற்கு ஐ.நா. தலைவர் மரியாதை செலுத்தினார்

• ஐ.நா. பொதுச் செயலாளர் அன்டோனியோ கட்டரெஸ், 2020ஆம் ஆண்டு ஐ.நா. வருடாந்திர நினைவு சேவை 2021இன்போது, பணியிலிருக்கும் போது இறந்த இந்திய ஐ.நா அமைதிகாக்கும் படைவீரர் யுவராஜ் சிங்கை கௌரவித்தார்.

5. Haryana govt launches Ayurvedic telemedicine facility for Corona patients

• Haryana Government has launched an Ayurvedic telemedicine facility for COVID-19 patients. Any patient can consult the Ayurvedic Doctors on phone by dialling 1075. A team of senior Ayurvedic Doctors have been appointed for consultation, who will provide service from 8 am to 10 pm. The tele consultation would be helpful for patients in isolation.

5. கோவிட்-19 நோயாளிகளுக்கு ஆயுர்வேத டெலி மெடிசின் வசதியை ஹரியானா அரசு தொடங்கியது

• ஹரியானா அரசு கோவிட்-19 நோயாளிகளுக்கு ஆயுர்வேத டெலி மெடிசின் வசதியை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது. 1075 என்னும் எண்ணில் தொலைபேசியில் ஆயுர்வேத மருத்துவர்களிடம்  ஆலோசிக்கலாம். மூத்த ஆயுர்வேத மருத்துவர்கள் குழுக்கள் ஆலோசனைக்காக நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். அவர்கள் காலை 8 மணி முதல் இரவு 10 மணி வரை சேவைகளை வழங்குவார்கள். தனிமைப்படுத்தப்பட்ட நோயாளிகளுக்கு இந்த டெலி ஆலோசனை உதவியாக இருக்கும்.

6. The Government of India provides 20 lakh bags containing pulses seeds free of cost to the farmers

• The Government of India provides 20 lakh bags containing pulses seeds free of cost to the farmers to increase the yield of red gram, blackgram and green gram during the kharif season.
• The bags containing these seeds are worth Rs. 82.01 crore. To increase the production of pulses, the Government of India is incurred the cost of bags containing these pulses.
• These bags containing seeds will be distributed through the Centre and State Marketing Centres.

6. பருப்பு விதைகள் அடங்கிய 20 லட்சம் பைகளை விவசாயிகளுக்கு இலவசமாக வழங்குவதாக மத்திய அரசு தெரிவித்துள்ளது

• நடப்பு காரீஃப் பருவத்தில் துவரை, உளுந்து, பாசிப் பருப்பு ஆகியவற்றின் விளைச்சலை அதிகரிக்கச் செய்வதற்காக, பருப்பு விதைகள் அடங்கிய 20 லட்சம் பைகளை விவசாயிகளுக்கு இலவசமாக வழங்குவதாக மத்திய அரசு தெரிவித்துள்ளது.
• இந்த விதைகள் அடங்கிய பைகளின் மதிப்பு ரூ. 82.01 கோடியாகும். பருப்பு வகைகளின் உற்பத்தியை அதிகரிக்கச் செய்வதற்காக, இந்த பருப்பு விதைகள் அடங்கிய பைகளுக்கான செலவை மத்திய அரசே ஏற்கிறது.
• இந்த விதைகள் அடங்கிய பைகள், மத்திய– மாநில அரசுகளின் விற்பனை மையங்கள் மூலமாக விநியோகிக்கப்படும்.

7. Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti or Pachishe Boishakh – 7 May 

• Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861 in Kolkata.
• He renounced his knighthood in protest of the Jallianwalabagh massacre in 1919.
• In 1913, he was honoured with Nobel Prize in Literature for his book Gitanjali.
• Rabindranath Tagore composed the National Anthems of two nations – Jana Gana Mana for India and Amar Sona Bangla for Bangladesh.

7. ரவீந்திரநாத் தாகூர் ஜெயந்தி அல்லது பச்சிஷே பாய்ஷாக் – 7 மே

• தாகூர் கொல்கத்தாவில் 7 மே 1861 அன்று பிறந்தார்.
• 1919இல் ஜாலியன்வாலாபாக் படுகொலைக்கு எதிர்ப்பு தெரிவித்து அவர் தனது நைட்ஹுட் பட்டத்தை துறந்தார்.
• 1913ஆம் ஆண்டில், அவரது கீதாஞ்சலி புத்தகத்திற்காக இலக்கியத்திற்கான நோபல் பரிசு வழங்கப்பட்டது.

8. World Athletics Day – 7 May

• World Athletics Day is celebrated on 7 May every year.
• The Day was introduced in 1996 as a social responsibility project ‘Athletic for a better world’ by the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF).
• The day is celebrated globally every year to spread awareness among children and youth regarding the importance of fitness and be healthy to promote athletics as the primary sport.

8. உலக தடகள தினம் – 7 மே

• உலக தடகள தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் 7 மே அன்று கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.
• சர்வதேச அமெச்சூர் தடகள சம்மேளனத்தால் (IAAF) ‘ஒரு சிறந்த உலகத்திற்கான தடகளம்’ என்ற சமூக பொறுப்புதிட்டமாக இந்த நாள் 1996இல் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டது.
• உடற்பயிற்சியின் முக்கியத்துவம் குறித்து குழந்தைகள் மற்றும் இளைஞர்களிடையே விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்தவும், தடகளத்தை முதன்மை விளையாட்டாக ஊக்குவிக்கவும் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் உலகளவில் இந்த நாள் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

9. BRO celebrates 61^st Raising Day – 7 May

• Border Roads Organisation (BRO) is celebrating its 61^st Raising Day. BRO is a leading road construction agency under the Ministry of Defence with a primary role of providing road connectivity in the border areas.
• It executes road construction and maintenance works along the Northern and Western frontiers primarily to meet the strategic requirements of the Army and is responsible for over 60,000 Kilometres roads.
