1. Kevadia to become India’s first electric vehicle city

• Area surrounding the Statue of Unity of Gujarat’s Kevadia is to become the first electric-vehicles-only zone of India. India’s first electric vehicle tourism initiative was launched in Kevadia.
• The Statue of Unity Area Development and Tourism Governance Authority (SOUADTGA) will develop Kevadia into a zone free from vehicular pollution.

Statue of Unity:

• Statue of Unity located in Sadhu Bet island of Kevadia. It is a 182 m tall statue built on the banks of the Narmada river in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It recognises the contribution of Patel in uniting princely states of pre-independent India.
• Statue of Unity is the tallest statue in the world. It was inaugurated on 31 October 2018 on the 143^rd birth anniversary of Patel. It was added in the Eight wonders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

• குஜராத்தின் கேவாடியாவின் ‘ஒற்றுமைக்கான சிலையை’ சுற்றியுள்ள பகுதி முழுவதும் இந்தியாவின் முதல் ‘மின்சார வாகனங்களுக்கான பிரத்யேக பகுதி’யாக மாற்றப்பட உள்ளது. இந்தியாவின் முதல் மின்சார வாகன சுற்றுலா முன்முயற்சி கேவாடியாவில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
• ஒற்றுமைக்கான சிலைப்பகுதி மேம்பாடு மற்றும் சுற்றுலா ஆளுகை அதிகாரசபை (SOUADTGA) கேவாடியாவை வாகன மாசு இல்லாத மையமாக மேம்படுத்தும்.

ஒற்றுமைக்கான சிலை:

• ஒற்றுமைக்கான சிலை கேவாடியாவின் சாது பெட் தீவில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இது சர்தார் வல்லபாய் படேலின் நினைவாக நர்மதா நதிக்கரையில் கட்டப்பட்ட 182 மீட்டர் உயர சிலை ஆகும். சுதந்திரத்திற்கு முந்தைய இந்தியாவின் சுதேச ராஜ்ஜியங்களை ஒருங்கிணைப்பதில் படேலின் பங்களிப்பை அங்கீகரிக்கிக்கும் விதமாக இச்சிலை கட்டப்பட்டுள்ளது.
• ஒற்றுமைக்கான சிலை உலகின் மிக உயரமான சிலையாகும். இது 31 அக்டோபர் 2018, படேலின் 143வது பிறந்த நாளன்று திறக்கப்பட்டது. இது ஷாங்காய் ஒத்துழைப்பு அமைப்பின் (SCO) எட்டு அதிசயங்களில் ஒன்றாக சேர்க்கப்பட்டது.

2. Indian Navy inducts three Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) at INS Dega

• Three indigenously built Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) MK III helicopters were inducted in the Eastern Naval Command (ENC) at INS Dega. These are state-of-the-art Maritime Reconnaissance and Coastal Security (MRCS) helicopters built by Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.
• ALH MK III helicopters feature an array of systems previously seen only on heavier, multi-role helicopters of the Indian Navy. A removable Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is also fitted on ALH MK III helicopters to airlift critically ill patients.

3. Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited, a joint venture, implements the Ratle Hydroelectric Project of Jammu and Kashmir

• NHPC with JKSPDC incorporated a joint venture company, “Ratle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited” for the implementation of 850 MW Ratle Hydroelectric Project. NHPC Limited (National Hydroelectric Power Corporation) is India’s premier hydropower company under the Union Ministry of Power.

• Ratle Hydroelectric Project is a 850 MW run-off river scheme located on River Chenab in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

3. ராட்லே நீர்மின் கழகம் என்ற கூட்டு முயற்சி ஜம்மு காஷ்மீரின் ராட்லே நீர்மின் திட்டத்தை செயல்படுத்துகிறது

• NHPC JKSPDCயுடன் இணைந்து 850 மெகாவாட் ராட்லே நீர்மின் திட்டத்தை செயல்படுத்துவதற்காக “ராட்லே நீர்மின் கழகம்“ என்ற கூட்டு நிறுவனத்தை நிறுவியுள்ளது. NHPC (தேசிய நீர்மின் கழகம்) மத்திய மின் அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் இயங்கும் இந்தியாவின் முதன்மையான நீர்மின் நிறுவனமாகும்.

• ராட்லே நீர்மின் திட்டம் ஜம்மு காஷ்மீர் யூனியன் பிரதேசத்தில் உள்ள செனாப் நதியில் அமைந்துள்ள 850 மெகாவாட் நதித் திட்டமாகும்.

4. World Bank approves $ 500 million for RAMP Program to boost India’s MSME sector

• The World Bank has approved a $ 500 million for RAMP program to boost India’s MSME sector. Raising and Accelerating Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Performance (RAMP) Program will provide better access to finance and working capital for MSMEs by strengthening the receivable financing markets. It will also scale up online dispute resolution mechanisms to address the problem of delayed payments.
• RAMP is the World Bank’s second intervention in the MSME sector. It had already provided $ 750 million for MSME Emergency Response Program last year.
• The MSME sector is the backbone of the country’s economy, contributing 30 per cent of India’s GDP and 40 per cent of its exports.

5. Prime Minister extends the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana till November

• The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana has been extended till November. Free food grains will be available in fixed quantity every month to more than 80 crore people till November.

Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana

• Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was launched in 2020 as a relief for COVID-19.
• It is aimed at providing each person who is covered under the National Food Security Act, 2013 with an additional 5 kg grains (wheat or rice) in addition to the 5 kg of subsidised foodgrain already provided through the Public Distribution System (PDS) for free of cost.
• The Union Ministry of Finance acts as the nodal Ministry for this scheme.

5. பிரதமர் கரிப் கல்யாண் அன்ன யோஜனா திட்டத்தை நவம்பர் மாதம் வரை நீட்டித்துள்ளார்

• பிரதம மந்திரி கரிப் கல்யாண் அன்ன யோஜனா நவம்பர் வரை நீட்டிக்கப்பட்டது. நவம்பர் மாதம் வரை 80 கோடிக்கும் அதிகமான மக்களுக்கு ஒவ்வொரு மாதமும் இலவச உணவு தானியங்கள் நிலையான அளவில் கிடைக்கும்.

பிரதம மந்திரி கரிப் கல்யாண் அன்ன யோஜனா

• கோவிட்-19க்கு நிவாரணமாக பிரதம மந்திரி கரிப் கல்யாண் அன்ன யோஜனா 2020இல் தொடங்கப்பட்டது.
• தேசிய உணவுப் பாதுகாப்புச் சட்டம், 2013இன் கீழ் வரும் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும், பொது விநியோகத் திட்டத்தின் மூலம் ஏற்கனவே வழங்கப்பட்ட 5 கிலோ மானிய உணவு தானியத்துடன் கூடுதலாக 5 கிலோ தானியங்களும் (கோதுமை அல்லது அரிசி) இலவசமாக வழங்குவதை இத்திட்டம் நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
• மத்திய நிதி அமைச்சகம் இந்த திட்டத்தின் ஒருங்கிணைப்பு அமைச்சகமாக செயல்படுகிறது.

6. Tata Hospital of Mumbai conducts the first CAR-T cell therapy

• Tata Hospital of Mumbai conducted the first CAR-T cell therapy. DBT/BIRAC-NBM supported the Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy which has emerged as a breakthrough in cancer treatment, especially in patients suffering from Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. This is a “first in India” gene therapy which can reduce the cost of treatment by crores.
• The CAR-T cells were designed and manufactured at the Bioscience and Bioengineering (BSBE) department of IIT Bombay.

Department of Biotechnology (DBT) 

• The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) works under the Union Ministry of Science & Technology. It promotes and accelerates the development of biotechnology in India.

Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC)  

• Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) is a not-for-profit Public Sector Enterprise set up by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.

• மும்பை டாடா மருத்துவமனை முதல் சிஏஆர்–டி (CAR-T) செல் சிகிச்சையை நடத்தியது. DBT/BIRAC-NBM சிமெரிக் ஆன்டிஜென் ரிசெப்டார் டி–செல் (CAR-T) சிகிச்சையை ஆதரித்தது. குறிப்பாக கடுமையான லிம்போசைடிக் லுகேமியாவால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட நோயாளிகளுக்கு புற்றுநோய் சிகிச்சையில் ஒரு திருப்புமுனையாக இந்த சிகிச்சை உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது சிகிச்சை செலவை குறைக்கும் “இந்தியாவில் முதல்” மரபணு சிகிச்சையாகும்.

7. 110 complaints received by Lokpal this year

• 110 complaints were received by Lokpal this year.

Lokpal:

• Lokpal is an anti-corruption ombudsman formed by Lokpal Act,2013. It consists of a Chairman and a maximum of eight members. The members will be selected by a select committee.
• It will investigate corruption charges against all the public servants, including the Prime Minister.
• Chairman: Pinaki Chandra Ghose is the first and current Chairman of Lokpal.

8. Russia withdraws from Open Skies Treaty of 1992

• Russian President Putin passed a bill regarding the withdrawl of Russia from Open Skies Treaty of 1992. Last year Trump unilaterally withdrew USA from the treaty.

Open Skies Treaty:

• Open Skies Treaty was signed in 1992 and came into effect in 2002. It was signed after the cold war to conduct unarmed surveillance of arms development over each other countries. 34 countries, including USA and Russia signed the treaty. India is not a member of the treaty.

8. 1992ஆம் ஆண்டு ஓபன் ஸ்கைஸ் ஒப்பந்தத்தில் இருந்து ரஷ்யா விலகியுள்ளது

• ரஷ்ய அதிபர் புதின் 1992ஆம் ஆண்டு ஓபன் ஸ்கைஸ் ஒப்பந்தத்தில் இருந்து ரஷ்யாவை விலக்குதலுக்கான மசோதாவை நிறைவேற்றுயுள்ளார். கடந்த ஆண்டு ட்ரம்ப் ஒருதலைப்பட்சமாக இந்த ஒப்பந்தத்தில் இருந்து அமெரிக்காவை விலக்கிக் கொண்டார்.

ஓபன் ஸ்கைஸ் ஒப்பந்தம்:

• ஓபன் ஸ்கைஸ் ஒப்பந்தம் 1992இல் கையெழுத்திடப்பட்டு 2002இல் நடைமுறைக்கு வந்தது. பனிப்போருக்குப் பின்னர் ஒருவர் மற்றொரு நாட்டின் ஆயுத மேம்பாட்டை ஆயுதமின்றி கண்காணிக்க இந்த ஒப்பந்தம் கையெழுத்திடப்பட்டது. அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் ரஷ்யா உட்பட 34 நாடுகள் இந்த ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டன. இந்த ஒப்பந்தத்தில் இந்தியா உறுப்பினராக இல்லை.

9. Union Government report shows that 9.27 lakh children were affected by severe acute malnutrition till November 2020

• Union Ministry of Women and Child Development released a report in response to an RTI (Right to Information) petition that showed that 9,27,606 children were affected by severe malnutrition till November 2020.
• This report included children from 6 months to 6 years. Tamil Nadu hosts 12,489 malnourished children.
• Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Nagaland, Manipur and Madhya Pradesh reported no severely malnourished children.
• Top malnourished states:

Malnutrition:

• Children suffering from Severe Acute malnutrition (SAM) have very low weight for their height and are nine times more likely to die in case of diseases due to their weak immune system.

9. 2020 நவம்பர் வரை 9.27 லட்சம் குழந்தைகள் கடுமையான ஊட்டச்சத்துக் குறைபாட்டால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர் என்று மத்திய அரசின் அறிக்கை குறிப்பிடுகிறது

• 2020 நவம்பர் வரை 9,27,606 குழந்தைகள் கடுமையான ஊட்டச்சத்துக் குறைபாட்டால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர் என்று தகவல் அறியும் உரிமைச் சட்ட (RTI) மனுவுக்கு பதிலளிக்கும் வகையில் மத்திய மகளிர் மற்றும் குழந்தைகள் மேம்பாட்டு அமைச்சகம் ஒரு அறிக்கையை வெளியிட்டது.
• இந்த அறிக்கையில் 6 மாதங்கள் முதல் 6 ஆண்டுகள் வரை உள்ள குழந்தைகளும் அடங்குவர். தமிழ்நாட்டில் 12,489  ஊட்டச்சத்து குறைபாடுள்ள  குழந்தைகள் உள்ளனர்.
• லடாக், லட்சத்தீவுகள், நாகாலாந்து, மணிப்பூர் மற்றும் மத்தியப் பிரதேசம் ஆகிய மாநிலங்களில் கடுமையான ஊட்டச்சத்து குறைபாடு உள்ள குழந்தைகள் யாரும் இல்லை என்று அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

• கடுமையான ஊட்டச்சத்து குறைபாட்டால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட குழந்தைகள் (SAM) தங்கள் உயரத்திற்கு மிகவும் குறைந்த எடையைக் கொண்டுள்ளனர். மேலும் அவர்களின் பலவீனமான நோயெதிர்ப்பு அமைப்பு காரணமாக நோய்கள் ஏற்பட்டால் அவர்கள் இறக்க ஒன்பது மடங்கு அதிகமாக வாய்ப்புள்ளது.

10. Tamil Nadu Public Health Department survey shows 23% of people developed immunity against COVID-19

• Tamil Nadu Public Health Department survey showed that 23% people developed immunity against COVID-19. Blood samples from 22,904 COVID-19 affected people were taken and among them 5,316 people had developed immunity against COVID-19. This 23% does not include the samples collected from Chennai. The people who developed immunity were highest being 49% in Tiruvallur and the lowest being 9% from Nagapattinam.
• Last year’s survey has shown that 31% of people developed immunity against COVID-19.

• கோவிட்-19க்கு எதிராக 23% மக்களுக்கு நோய் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி உருவாகியிருப்பதாக தமிழ்நாடு பொது சுகாதாரத் துறை கணக்கெடுப்பு காட்டியது. கோவிட்-19ஆல் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட 22,904 மக்களிடமிருந்து ரத்த மாதிரிகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டன. அவர்களில் 5,316 பேருக்கு கோவிட்-19க்கு எதிராக நோய் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தியை உருவாகியிருந்தது. இந்த 23%இல் சென்னையில் இருந்து சேகரிக்கப்பட்ட மாதிரிகள் சேர்க்கப்படவில்லை. அதிகபட்சமாக திருவள்ளூரில் 49% மற்றும் நாகப்பட்டினத்திலிருந்து 9% குறைந்தபட்சமாக நோய் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தி கொண்ட மக்கள் உள்ளனர்.
