1. Temples soon to have women preists in Tamil Nadu

• Tamil Nadu soon to have women priests as the State Hindu religious and charitable endowments (HR and CE) department has planned to offer archakar (priest) course to all Hindus.
• HR and CE minister P K Sekar Babu said that the state would offer training to women who are interested in becoming priests in temples managed by the department

• அனைத்து இந்துக்களுக்கும் பூசாரி பாடநெறி வழங்க மாநில இந்து மத மற்றும் அறக்கட்டளைகள் (HR and CE) திட்டமிட்டுள்ளதால் தமிழ்நாடு விரைவில் பெண் பூசாரிகளைப் நியமிக்கத் திட்டமிட்டுள்ளது.

2. Indian Coast Guard starts ‘Operation Olivia’ to rescue the Olive Ridley turtles

• ‘Operation Olivia’ was initiated by the Indian Coast Guard in the early 1980s to protect Olive Ridley turtles. It is conducted every year to protect the turtles that congregate along the Odisha coast for breeding and nesting from November to December.
• The Olive Ridley turtles are listed as vulnerable under the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List.

Marine turtles

• Five out of seven species of marine turtles of the world are found in All the five are included in Schedule I of the Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and in the Appendix I of the Convention of International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), which prohibits trade of turtle products by signatory countries. All important sea turtle nesting habitats are termed as “Important Coastal and Biodiversity Areas” and placed under Coastal Regulatory Zone–I.
• Odisha coast is the largest nesting site for marine turtles in the world, followed by Mexico and Costa Rica. Odisha coast has three beaches at Gahirmatha, Devi river mouth and in Recently, a new mass nesting site has been discovered in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

2. ஆலிவ் ரிட்லி ஆமைகளை மீட்க இந்திய கடலோர காவல்படை ‘ஒலிவியா நடவடிக்கை‘யை தொடங்கியது

• ஆலிவ் ரிட்லி ஆமைகளைப் பாதுகாக்க 1980களின் தொடக்கத்தில் இந்திய கடலோரக் காவல்படையினரால் ‘ஒலிவியா நடவடிக்கை‘ தொடங்கப்பட்டது. ஒடிசா கடற்கரையில் நவம்பர் முதல் டிசம்பர் வரை இனப்பெருக்கம் மற்றும் கூடுகட்டும் ஆமைகளைப் பாதுகாக்க ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் இது நடத்தப்படுகிறது.
• ஆலிவ் ரிட்லி ஆமைகள் IUCN (இயற்கை பாதுகாப்புக்கான சர்வதேச ஒன்றியம்) சிவப்பு பட்டியலின் கீழ் பாதிக்கப்படக் கூடியவை என்று பட்டியலிடப்பட்டுள்ளன.

3. Indian Coast Guard inducts ALH Mk-III into its aviation arm

• Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar inducted ALH Mk-III into in Indian Coast Guard (ICG). The state-of-the-art helicopters are indigenously designed and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bengaluru.
• The 16 ALH Mk-III will be positioned at four Coast Guard squadrons at Bhubaneshwar, Porbandar, Kochi and Chennai. These squadrons will ensure seamless surveillance and provide assistance to fishermen in distress at sea.

3. இந்திய கடலோர காவல்படை ALH Mk-IIIஐ அதன் விமானப் பிரிவில் சேர்த்தது

• பாதுகாப்பு செயலாளர் அஜய் குமார் ALH Mk-IIIஐ இந்திய கடலோர காவல்படையில் (ICG) சேர்த்தார். இந்த அதிநவீன ஹெலிகாப்டர்கள் உள்நாட்டிலேயே வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டு பெங்களூருவின் இந்துஸ்தான் ஏரோனாட்டிக்ஸ் லிமிடெட் (HAL) மூலம் தயாரிக்கப்படுகின்றன.
• புவனேஷ்வர், போர்பந்தர், கொச்சி மற்றும் சென்னை ஆகிய நான்கு கடலோரக் காவல்படை படைப்பிரிவுகளில் 16 ALH Mk-III ஹெலிகாப்டர்கள் நிலைப்படுத்தப்படுத்தப்படும். இந்த படைப்பிரிவுகள் தடையற்ற கண்காணிப்பை உறுதி செய்யும் மற்றும் கடலில் ஆபத்தில் உள்ள மீனவர்களுக்கு உதவி வழங்கும்.

4. Union Minister Rajnath Singh flags off first-ever solo woman motorcycle expedition organised by BRO

• The Union Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off the first-ever solo woman motorcycle expedition, organised by Border Roads Organisation (BRO), from BRO Headquarters in New Delhi. Kanchan Ugursandi, a 29 year-old lady biker is undertaking the challenge to cover 3,187 km in 24 days.
• She is expected to cross Umlingla Pass, the highest motorable pass at 19,301 feet in the world, which was built by BRO as a part of the expedition. The route being traversed is New Delhi-Manali-Leh-Umlingla Pass–New Delhi.

4. எல்லை சாலைகள் அமைப்பு (BRO) ஏற்பாடு செய்த முதல் தனி பெண் மோட்டார் சைக்கிள் பயணத்தை மத்திய அமைச்சர் ராஜ்நாத் சிங் தொடங்கிவைக்கிறார்

• புது தில்லியில் உள்ள எல்லை சாலைகள் அமைப்பு (BRO) தலைமையகத்தில் BRO ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்த முதல் தனி பெண் மோட்டார் சைக்கிள் பயணத்தை மத்திய அமைச்சர் ராஜ்நாத் சிங்  கொடியசைத்து தொடங்கிவைத்தார். திருமதி கஞ்சன் உகுர்சாண்டி என்ற 29 வயது பெண் பைக்கர் 24 நாட்களில் 3,187 கி.மீ. தூரத்தைக் கடப்பார்.
• அவர் 19,301 அடி உயரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள உலகின் மிக உயர்ந்த வாகணம் செல்லக்கூடிய கணவாயான எல்லை சாலைகள் அமைப்பால் கட்டப்பட்ட உம்லிங்லா கணவாயைக் கடப்பார். இந்த பயணம் புது தில்லி-மணாலி-லே-உம்லிங்லா கணவாய்-புது தில்லி வழியே செல்லும்.

5. Union Minister Rajnath Singh approves Rs. 498.8 crores budgetary support for Defence innovation through iDEX – DIO

• Union Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the budgetary support of 498.8 crore to Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) – Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO) for the next five years.
• iDEX–DIO has the primary objective of self-reliance and indigenisation in the defence and aerospace sectorof the country. It is aimed at creating an ecosystem to foster innovation and technology development in defence and aerospace by engaging Industries including MSMEs, individual innovators which has good potential for future adoption for Indian defence and aerospace needs.

5. மத்திய அமைச்சர் ராஜ்நாத் சிங் iDEX – DIO மூலம் பாதுகாப்பு புத்தாக்கங்களுக்கு ரூ. 498.8 கோடி பட்ஜெட் ஆதரவு அளிக்க ஒப்புதல் அளிக்கிறார்

• பாதுகாப்பு சிறப்புக்கான புத்தாக்கங்களுக்கு (iDEX) – பாதுகாப்பு புத்தாக்க அமைப்பு (DIO) அடுத்த ஐந்து ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ரூ. 498.8 கோடி பட்ஜெட் ஆதரவுக்கு மத்திய அமைச்சர் ராஜ்நாத் சிங் ஒப்புதல் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

6. Project O2 for India enables the supply of critical raw materials

• ‘Project O2 for India’ is an initiative of the Office of Principal Scientific Adviser of the Union Government of India. It aims is to enable stakeholders working to augment the country’s ability to meet this rise in demand for medical oxygen.
• National Consortium of Oxygen is enabling the national level supply of critical raw materials. The consortium also works to strengthen the manufacturing ecosystem for long-term preparedness.

6. இந்தியாவிற்கான ஆக்ஸிஜன் (O2) திட்டம் முக்கிய மூலப்பொருட்களை வழங்க உதவுகிறது

• ‘இந்தியாவுக்கான ஆக்ஸிஜன் (O2) திட்டம்‘ என்பது மத்திய  அரசின் முதன்மை அறிவியல் ஆலோசகர் அலுவலகத்தின் முன்முயற்சியாகும்.   மருத்துவ ஆக்ஸிஜன் தேவை அதிகரிப்பை பூர்த்தி செய்ய நாட்டின் திறனை அதிகரிக்க பணியாற்றும் பங்குதாரர்களை செயல்படுத்துவதே இதன் நோக்கமாகும்.
• தேசிய ஆக்சிஜன் கூட்டமைப்பு தேசிய அளவில் முக்கியமான மூலப்பொருட்களை வழங்க உதவுகிறது. நீண்டகால தயார்நிலைக்காக உற்பத்தி சுற்றுச்சூழல் அமைப்பை வலுப்படுத்தவும் இந்த கூட்டமைப்பு செயல்படுகிறது.

7. PM Modi addresses UN dialogue on desertification, land degradation and drought

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the United Nations during the High-Level Dialogue on Desertification, Land Degradation and Drought The high-level dialogue will assess the progress made in the fight against desertification, land degradation and drought. It will also map the way forward in view of the end of the UN Decade for Deserts and the Fight against Desertification and the beginning of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
• Modi is the President of the 14^th session of the Conference of Parties of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).

7. பாலைவனமாக்கல், நில சீரழிவு மற்றும் வறட்சி குறித்த ஐ.நா. பேச்சுவார்த்தையில் பிரதமர் மோடி உரையாற்றினார்

8. ‘Namaste Yoga’ mobile App launched in curtain raiser event for 7^th International Day of Yoga

• ‘Namaste Yoga’ mobile application was launched in the curtain raiser event for the 7^th International Day of Yoga (21 June). The event was organised by the Union Ministry of Ayush in association with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga.
• ‘Namaste Yoga’mobile application has been designed as an information platform for the public.

8. 7வது சர்வதேச யோகா தினத்திற்கான தொடக்க நிகழ்ச்சியில் ‘நமஸ்தே யோகா‘ மொபைல் செயலி அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டது

• 7வது சர்வதேச யோகா தினத்திற்கான (21 ஜூன்) தொடக்க நிகழ்ச்சியில் ‘நமஸ்தே யோகா‘ மொபைல் செயலி அறிமுகம் செய்யப்பட்டது. மொரார்ஜி தேசாய் தேசிய யோகா நிறுவனத்துடன் இணைந்து மத்திய ஆயுஷ் அமைச்சகம் இந்த நிகழ்ச்சியை ஏற்பாடு செய்திருந்தது.
• ‘நமஸ்தே யோகா’ மொபைல் செயலி பொதுமக்களின் தகவல் தளமாக வடிவமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

9. Darbar move deferred due to COVID-19 circumstances

• The traditional biannual ‘Darbar Move’ from Jammu to Srinagar was deferred this year because of the prevailing COVID-19 circumstances. To ensure smooth functioning of both the Secretariats at Jammu and Srinagar, the authorities implemented the e-office project of digitising the official records in the Secretariats.
• The practice of the Secretariat to function in Jammu during the winter and in Srinagar during summers was started in 1872. However, for the first time in the history of the Darbar Move, the files and other office records were moved electronically between both the Secretariats in e-office mode. This initiative saved the expenditure while transporting the office records physically between Jammu and Srinagar which is around 300 kilometres apart.

10. Naftali Bennett becomes the new Prime Minister of Israel

• Naftali Bennett was sworn in as the Israel’s new Prime Minister, ending Benjamin Netanyahu’s rule.
• Israeli Parliament known as Knesset voted for the alliance led by Naftali Bennett to end Benjamin Netanyahu’s record of 12-year reign.

10. இஸ்ரேலின் புதிய பிரதமரானார் நாஃப்தாலி பென்னெட்

• இஸ்ரேலின் புதிய பிரதமராக நாஃப்தாலி பென்னெட் பதவியேற்றார்,  இது பெஞ்சமின் நெத்தனியாகுவின் ஆட்சிக்கு முற்றுப்புள்ளி வைத்தது.
• பெஞ்சமின் நெத்தனியாகுவின் சாதனையான 12 ஆண்டு கால ஆட்சியை முடிவுக்குக் கொண்டுவர நாஃப்தாலி பென்னெட் தலைமையிலான கூட்டணிக்கு நெஸ்ஸெட் என்று அழைக்கப்படும் இஸ்ரேலிய பாராளுமன்றம் வாக்களித்தது.

11. G7 leaders launch Build Back Better World (B3W) to counter China’s Belt and Road Initiative

• G7 leaders have launched a new global infrastructure initiative, Build Back Better World (B3W) to help developing nations counter China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
• The initiative was a values-driven, high-standard, and transparent infrastructure partnership led by major democracies to help narrow the over 40 trillion Dollar infrastructure need in the developing world, which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Belt and Road Initiative

• Belt and Road Initiative is an infrastructure scheme launched by China in 2013. It involves the development and investment initiatives from Asia to Europe and beyond.

11. சீனாவின் பெல்ட் அண்ட் ரோட் முன்முயற்சியை எதிர்க்க ஜி7 தலைவர்கள் பில்ட் பேக் பெட்டர் வேர்ல்ட் (B3W)ஐ தொடங்கினர்

• சீனாவின் பெல்ட் அண்ட் ரோட் முன்முயற்சியை (BRI) எதிர்க்க வளரும் நாடுகளுக்கு உதவும் வகையில் ஜி7 தலைவர்கள் ஒரு புதிய உலகளாவிய உள்கட்டமைப்பு முன்முயற்சியை பில்ட் பேக் பெட்டர் வேர்ல்ட் (B3W)ஐ தொடங்கியுள்ளனர்.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

12. Indian origin journalists Megha Rajagopalan and Neil Bedi wins Pulitzer Prize

• Megha Rajagopalan along with two contributors from BuzzFeed News, won the prize in the international reporting category for exposing China’s detention camps that were built for Muslims.
• Neil Bedi along with Kathleen McGrory from Tampa Bay Times, won the award for local reporting of the series exposing a Sheriff’s office initiative that used computer modelling to identify people who were believed to be future crime suspects.
• New York Times won the gold medal in the public service category.

Pulitzer Prize

• Pulitzer Prize is awarded annually in memory of Joseph Pulitzer in the fields of Journalism, Drama and Music by the Columbia University. Pulitzer Prize is the highest award for journalism in USA. Pulitzer Prize is awarded annually in 21 categories. Each winner receives a certificate and a 15,000 dollar cash award. The winner in the public service category is awarded a gold medal.

12. இந்திய வம்சாவளி பத்திரிகையாளர்கள் மேகா ராஜகோபாலன் மற்றும் நீல் பேடி ஆகியோர் புலிட்சர் பரிசை வென்றனர்

• அமெரிக்காவின் ஆன்லைன் செய்தி ஊடகமான பஸ்ஃபீட் நியூஸின் மேகா ராஜகோபாலன் இரண்டு பங்களிப்பாளர்களுடன் முஸ்லிம்கள் மீதான சீன அரசு தடுப்பு முகாம்களில் முஸ்லிம்களை அடைத்து சித்ரவதை செய்வது குறித்து அம்பலப்படுத்தியதற்காக சர்வதேச செய்தி சேகரிப்புப் பிரிவில் புலிட்சர் பரிசை வென்றார்.

13. Barbora Krejcikova becomes the first player to win both the Women’s singles and doubles title in the French Open title after Mary Pierce

• Czech Barbora Krejcikova has won her Maiden Grand Slam Women’s Singles Title, beating Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the French Open 2021. She lifted the Women’s Doubles Trophy with Katerina Siniakova, beating Iga Swiatek and Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
• Krejcikova became the first player to win both the women’s singles and doubles title in Paris since Mary Pierce completed the feat in 2000. The 25 year-old Krejcikova is the world number one doubles player and ranks 15^th in singles.

14. Novak Djokovic wins the French Open 2021 Men’s Singles Title

• Novak Djokovic beat Stefanos Tsitsipas to win his 19^th Grand Slam Title. He also beat the defending champion Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals. Djokovic also became the first men’s player to win all four Grand Slam titles twice in 52 years.
• In Men’s Doubles, Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut won the title by defeating Alexander Bublik and Andrey Golubev of Kazakhstan in the final.

14. நோவக் ஜோகோவிச் பிரெஞ்சு ஓபன் 2021 ஆண்கள் ஒற்றையர் பட்டத்தை வென்றார்

• நோவக் ஜோகோவிச், ஸ்டெபனோஸ் சிட்சிபாஸை தோற்கடித்து தனது 19வது கிராண்ட் ஸ்லாம் பட்டத்தை வென்றார்.  அரையிறுதியில்  நடப்பு சாம்பியனான ரஃபேல்   நடாலையும் அவர் தோற்கடித்தார். 52 ஆண்டுகளில் இரண்டு முறை நான்கு கிராண்ட் ஸ்லாம் பட்டங்களையும் வென்ற முதல் ஆண்கள் வீரர் என்ற பெருமையையும் ஜோகோவிச் பெற்றார்.

15. Weightlifter Mirabai Chanu qualifies for Tokyo Olympics in Women’s 49 kg category

• The 2017 world champion in weightlifting, Mirabai Chanu has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics in the Women’s 49 kg category.
• The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) announced that Mirabai has qualified on the basis of her world ranking points. As per rules of the IWF, the top eight lifters in each of the 14 weight categories, including seven in the women’s group, are eligible to compete in Tokyo Games. This 26 year-old weightlifter from Manipur is ranked second in the Women’s 49 kg category.

• சர்வதேச பளுதூக்குதல் சம்மேளனம் (IWF) மீராபாய் அவரது உலக தரவரிசை புள்ளிகளின் அடிப்படையில் தகுதி பெற்றுள்ளார் என்று அறிவித்தது. 17. World Albinism Awareness Day – 13 June

• International Albinism Awareness Day is observed on 13 June every year to raise and create awareness among people about albinism and the human rights of people with albinism. Albinism is a congenital disorder which is seen in humans due to absolute or partial absence of melanin pigment in the skin, eyes and hair.
• On 13 June 2013, the United Nations Human Rights Council adopted the resolution to mark 13 June as the International Albinism Awareness Day. The day however became official after the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution on 18 December 2014 and declared that 13 June will be observed as International Albinism Awareness Day with effect from 2015.

• 13 ஜூனை சர்வதேச அல்பினிசம் விழிப்புணர்வு தினமாகக் குறிக்கும் தீர்மானத்தை ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் மனித உரிமைகள் பேரவை 13 ஜூன் 2013 அன்று நிறைவேற்றியது. இருப்பினும், ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் பொதுச் சபை 18 டிசம்பர் 2014 அன்று இத்தீர்மானத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, 13 ஜூனை 2015 முதல் சர்வதேச அல்பினிசம் விழிப்புணர்வு தினமாக அனுசரிக்கப்படும் என்று அறிவித்த பின்னர் அந்த நாள் அதிகாரப்பூர்வமானது.

18. World Blood Donor Day – 14 June

• World Blood Donor Day is observed every year on 14 June. This day was first organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 14 June 2005. The aim of the day is to raise global awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products for transfusion.
• Italy will host World Blood Donor Day 2021 through its National Blood Centre. The global event will be held in Rome on 14 June 2021.

19. Socialist Revolutionary Che Guevara’s Birth anniversary – 14 June

• Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, commonly known as Che Guevara or El Che, was born on 14 June 1928. He is a socialist revolutionary born in Argentina. He is a socialist revolutionary, doctor, Marxist, politician, and fighter who participated in revolutions in Cuba and many other countries (including Congo). “Che” is an Argentinian word meaning friend or companssion. He died on 9 October 1967.

19. சோசலிசப் புரட்சியாளர் சே குவேரா பிறந்த தினம் – 14 ஜூன்

• சே குவேரா அல்லது எல் சே என பொதுவாக அறியப்பட்ட எர்னெஸ்டோ குவேரா டி லா செர்னா 14 ஜூன் 1928 அன்று பிறந்தார்.
• இவர் அர்ஜென்டீனாவை பிறப்பிடமாகக் கொண்ட ஒரு சோசலிசப் புரட்சியாளர் ஆவார். இவர் சோசலிசப் புரட்சியாளர், மருத்துவர், மார்க்சியவாதி, அரசியல்வாதி, கியூபா மற்றும் பல நாடுகளின் (காங்கோ உட்பட) புரட்சிகளில் பங்கேற்ற போராளி எனப் பல முகங்களைக் கொண்டவர். “சே“ என்பது நண்பர் அல்லது தோழர் என்னும் பொருள் கொண்ட ஆர்ஜென்டீனச் சொல்லாகும். அவர் 9 அக்டோபர் 1967 அன்று இறந்தார்.
