Reserve Bank of India revises the norms for the hiring of lockers facility provided by banks
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released the revised guidelines for the hiring of lockers and safe custody facility in view of various developments in the area of banking and technology, nature of consumer grievances and the feedback received from banks.
- The new guidelines will be effective from 1 January 2022 and applicable to new as well as existing lockers.

- The Cabinet approved a pact between India and the United States of America on cooperation in the field of geology.
- Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will provide an institutional mechanism between the Geological Survey of India (GSI) and the Florida International University (FIU) on cooperation in the field of geology.
IIT Madras is set to collaborate with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on pavement engineering and intelligent transportation systems
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras is set to collaborate with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) to conduct research on pavement engineering and intelligent transportation systems.
- The research areas include pavement materials, hydrogen cell transportation, automatic vehicle classification, novel toll systems, FASTag data analytics and traffic simulations beside transportation safety, among others.
India and Australia sign a joint guidance for the Australia-India Navy to Navy relationship document
- The chiefs of the Indian and Australian navies signed a joint guidance for the Australia-India Navy to Navy relationship document to streamline interaction between the two forces at various levels.
- This document is aligned to the ‘2020 Comprehensive Strategic Partnership’ agreed to by Prime Ministers of the two nations and aims to ensure a shared approach to regional and global security challenges.
