Department of Atomic Energy to build India’s first reactor on PPP model
- The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) will be constructing India’s first research reactor on the public-private partnership (PPP) DAE is shortlisting the private enterprises for a partnership in the project.
- The research reactor will be designed by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), will produce radioisotopes, and is expected to bring down the costs of nuclear medicine that is used in cancer treatment in India.

India set to launch mobile tech platform ‘UNITE AWARE’ for UN peacekeepers
- India will launch ‘UNITE AWARE’, a mobile tech platform, in August 2021 for the United Nations Peacekeepers to improve their safety and security in the line of duty.
- India, in partnership with the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations and the Department of Operational Support, has been working towards developing a mobile tech platform ‘UNITE AWARE’ that helps increase situational awareness and provides terrain-related information to peacekeepers.

Four-time Assam MLA Majendra Narzary passed away at 68
- Majendra Narzary, an MLA from Assam, passed away due to post COVID-19 complications. He was four-time MLA from the Gossaigaon assembly constituency in Assam’s Kokrajhar district.
