Answer key and Explanations:

  1. d

Let the first and last innings be x and y respectively,

x+y=38×68-36×65

x+y=244——(I)

x-y=24——(II)

Solve the equations I and II,

and we get, x=134

y=110

Therefore the last innings run =110

  1. a

Sum of the four persons weight=63×4=252

Ratio of four persons= 5 : 3 : 9 : 11

first persons weight=252/28×5=45 kg

Third person^’ sweight=252/28×9=81 kg

Average of 1st and 3rd persons weight=(45+81)/2=63 kg

  1. c

Total marks of Dinesh,Kamalesh and Ramesh=84×3=252

Suresh’s mark=84-15=69

Dinesh’s mark=69+23=92

Kamalesh mark=92+5=97

Ramesh mark’s= (Total marks of Dinesh, Kamalesh and Ramesh)-(Dinesh + Kamalesh marks)

= 252-(92+97) = 63

Sum of Suresh, Dinesh’s and Ramesh’s marks= 92 + 69 + 63 = 224

  1. e

After 11 years Shakthi’s age=46 yrs

Present age of Shakthi=46-11=35 yrs

Sharmi’s age= 35+ 7=42

Susma’s age=42/7×5=30 yrs

Average age of Shakthi and Susma = (35+30)/2=32.5 yrs

  1. b

Let as consider five numbers are P, Q, R, S, T and U

R=140/100×P

R=140/100×S

140/100×P=140/100×S

P/S=1/1

First number (P) is=30

R=140/100×30=42

Q=2/3×42=28

S=30

T=2P=60

U=80/100×30=24

Average of last three numbers=(30+60+24)/3=38

  1. c

Average speed=2xy/(x+y)

=(2×x×45)/(x+45)=54

90x=54x+2340

36x=2340

x= 67.5 km/hr

  1. d

According to the question,

((250×56000)+(x×52000))/(250+x)=54000

14000000+52000x=13500000+54000x

2000x=500000

x=250

Total employees=250+250=500

  1. c

Sum of temperature of First 7 days=45°×7=315°

Sum of temperature of Last 7 days=57°×7=399°

Sum of temperature of 1 week=13×52°=676°C

7th day temperature is= (315+399)-676=38°C

  1. c

Ratio of the values,

=5×8 :7×5 :10×7

=40 : 35 : 70

= 8 : 7 : 14

  1. b

Kavitha=7 yrs 6 month

Sharatha= 17 yrs 5 month

Sharath=11 yrs 10 month

Average=(36 yrs 9 month)/3

= (36 9/12)/3=121/4  years

  1. a

Let the number of toys be 100

Difference = 63-59=4

4=100 toys

20=500 toys

Required toys==500×60/100=300

  1. b

Let as boys and girls be x and y,

((x×62)+(y×55))/(x+y)=58

62x+55y=58x+58y

4x=3y

x/y=3/4

Ratio = 3 : 4

  1. d

Score of Gopi=34×74+23×78-56×76=54

  1. c

Sum of  11 numbers is=11×45=495

each of the numbers is added by 11=11×11=121

Average of new set number=(495+121)/11=56

  1. b

Let the number of runs scored in 10th inning be x,

9×40+x=10×43

360+x=430

x=70 runs

  1. c

Sum of salary  of X, Y and Z=3×12000=Rs.36000

Then money spend,

36000-(3×8000)=Rs.12000

3y+y+2y=12000

y=12000/6=2000

x=3y

x=3×2000=Rs.6000

Average amount X and Y spend=(6000+2000)/2=Rs.4000

  1. d

Sum of price 39 product=39×150=Rs.5850

Sum of price of bags=15×250=Rs.3750

Sum of price of dresses=10×75=Rs.750

Sum of price of balls=5850-4500=Rs.1350

Average price of balls=1350/14=Rs.96.4

  1. c

Sum of total amount of Orange=10×40=400

Sum of total amount of banana=6×25=150

Sum of total amount of Apple=11×95=1045

Sum of taotal amount of mango=7×80=560

Total amount Reaka spent=Rs.2155

Average=2155/34=Rs.63.4

  1. e

Amount of average be x

Total amount paid by 14 friends=Rs. 2100

(2100+2(x+16))/16=x

Simplify the above equation,

x=152

  1. c

The only possibility according to the above condition is puffs=7, chocolates=9 and pastries =10

Sum of total cost=26×190=Rs.4940

(7×15+9×15+10×x)=4940

x=470
