### INTRODUCTION TO TIME AND WORK:

There will be 1 or 2 Questions from this topic in all IBPS Exams.This topic is quite easy,Since Time and Work can be solved in Partial Method in our article we use LCM method to solve the problem in order to reduce the time consumption.There are 8 Basic types in Time and Work.Let us discuss each type with an example.

## #.7 TYPE 7:

### PROBLEMS BASED ON CHAIN RULE:

These type of  Problem is solved using the formula

(M1H1D1/W1)=(M2H2D2/W2)=(M3H3D3/W3)….

Here M refers to certain group of person or an individual

H refers Number of Hours M works in a day

D refers to number of days they take to complete the work

W refers to the total work

1)8 Men works 8 hours a day and they complete the whole work in 8 days,then find how many men would require to complete the same work in 16 days if they work 16 hours a day?

Explanation

Given that,

M1=8, H1=8, D1=8, M2=?, H2 = 16 , D2 = 16 Here W1=W2

Lets Substitute the value in it,

(M1H1D1/W1)=(M2H2D2/W2)

W1 and W2 get Cancelled

8 * 8 * 8= M2 * 16 * 16

2=M2

So,2 men are required to complete the work

### PROBLEMS BASED ON AND & OR:

There are two types in this Problem

1)Problems Based on AND

2)Problems Based on OR

1)Problems Based on AND:

In this type we will be given 2 or 3 group of People and their efficiency to complete the task and another group of People and their efficiency to complete the task and we are asked to find their individual efficiency.

1)4 Men and 2 Women can complete the work in 10 days,Meanwhile 8 Men and 9 Women can complete the work in 4 days.Find in how many days would 6 Men and 4 Women take to complete the work?

Explanation

So,

Given that,

4M + 2W =10D

4(2W) + 2W=10D

8 W + 2W=10D

10W =10 D

6M + 4W=?

6(2W) + 4W=12W+4W=16W

Therefore,

16W=?

10W=10D

16W=10*10

W=10 * 10/16

W=6.25 Days

6M+4W will take 6.25 Days

2)PROBLEMS BASED ON OR:

1)4Men or 8 Women will take 10 days to complete the task,Find how long  4Men and  4Women will take to complete the task when they work together?

Explanation

Given that,

4Men=8Women

Men=2Women

4Men+4Women

=4(2W)+4Women

=8Women+4 Women

=12Women

Given 8 Women can Complete the work in 10 days

Therefore 12 Women will take

=(10*8)/12

=20/3

=6.66Days

4 Men and 4 Women will complete the work in 6.66 Days
