PV Sindhu appointed Deputy Collector in Andhra Pradesh government – July, 2017

              Ace shuttler and Rio Olympics silver medallist P.V. Sindhu was on Thursday appointed deputy collector, a Group-1 service post, in the AP government. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu personally handed over the Government Order to Sindhu in the Secretariat in Amaravati, appointing her to the post.

Expressing happiness over the development, Sindhu said her first priority would continue to be badminton. “My focus will be on the sport only,” she added and thanked the Chief Minister for the job. 

 Upon in the Rio Olympics last year, the AP Cabinet had resolved to award Sindhu a cash incentive of Rs 3 crore, a 1,000-sq yd house site in Amaravati and provide the job. She received gifts from the TS government as well. She has to accept the job in 30 days and will be under probation for three years.

         Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu handed over the appointment letter to Sindhu at the State Secretariat Hyderabad, in the presence of her parents.
