Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the detailed recruitment notification for the post of Recruitment of Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (Information Technology) [JE(IT)], Depot Material Superintendant (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) now and the total number of vacancies which was first released as 14,033 is now changed and decreased as 13,384.

The lower and upper age limit indicated for post(s) in the vacancy table will be reckoned as on 01.01.2019.

  • OBC – Non Creamy Layer: 2-1-1983

Educational Qualification – RRB JE 2019

Candidates should have requisite Educational/Technical qualifications indicated for posts in Annexure-A of this CEN, from recognized  board/University/institute as on the closing date for ONLINE Registration (31.01.2019).

Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS – RRB JE 2019

Only single online application {common to all the notified posts in opted RRB Junior Engineer (JE), Junior Engineer (Information Technology) [JE(IT)], Depot Material Superintendant (DMS) and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA)} has to be submitted by the candidate through the link provided on the official website of RRBs.

Phases of RRB JE Exam 2019

  • 1st Stage CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • 2nd Stage CBT (Computer Based Test)
  • Document Verification/Medical Examination

The entire recruitment process shall involve, 1st stage Computer Based Test (CBT), 2nd stage CBT, and Document Verification/Medical Examination as applicable. Selection is made strictly as per merit, on the basis of CBTs.

1st Stage CBT (Common for all notified posts of this CEN):

Duration :90 minutes (120 Minutes for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied with Scribe)

No of Questions : 100

The 1st stage CBT is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The normalized score of 1st stage exam shall be used only for short listing of candidates for 2nd stage exam as per their merit. Candidates who are shortlisted for 2nd stage CBT availing the reservation benefits of a community, PwBD and ExSM shall continue to be considered only against that community for all subsequent stages of recruitment process.

Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

2nd Stage CBT – RRB JE 2019

Short listing of Candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT exam shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in the 1st Stage CBT Exam. Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for 2nd Stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in 1st Stage CBT. However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease this limit in total or for any specific category(s) as required to ensure availability of adequate candidates for all the notified posts.

Duration: 120 minutes (160 Minutes for eligible PwBD candidates accompanied with Scribe)

All the candidates with the above qualification shall be tested in the Exam Group mapped as per the above chart. However, candidates with educational qualification of BE/B.Tech (Computer Science) or BE/B.Tech (Information Technology), applying for both the posts of JE(S&T Department) and JE (IT), have to opt for either Electronics and Allied Engineering Exam Group or Computer Science and Information Technology Exam Group.

The educational qualification for the post of DMS (Depot Material Superintendent) is Three Years Diploma in Engineering i.e a candidate with Three Years Diploma in any of Engineering disciplines, can apply for these posts as applicable.

Candidates with educational qualifications not figuring in the above chart and eligible for DMS posts have to choose any one of the above listed Exam Groups other than CMA Exam Group, during the registration for online applications of this CEN.

A candidate possessing more than one minimum educational qualification, mapped to different Exam Groups, can choose any one Exam Group. These candidates would be eligible for all the posts for which they possess minimum educational qualifications.


SHORTLISTING OF CANDIDATES FOR 2nd STAGE CBT, DV AND EMPANELMENT

Short listing of Candidates for the DV shall be based on the normalized marks obtained by them in 2nd Stage CBT. The normalization scheme to be adopted for short listing the candidates from 1st Stage CBT to 2nd Stage CBT and for DV on the basis of performance in 2nd Stage CBT is detailed below.

NORMALISATION OF THE MARKS – RRB JE 2019

Whenever CBT is conducted in multiple sessions for the same syllabus, the raw marks obtained by the candidates in different sessions will be converted to normalized marks.

The raw marks for single session paper and normalized marks for multi session paper will be used for computing Merit Index, which is a common benchmark for generating merit for candidates from different Exam Groups.


EXAMINATION FEE – RRB JE 2019

Candidates applying for the posts in this CEN have to pay the prescribed fee as per their category detailed below:

Bank Account details for Refund – RRB JE 2019

  • Candidate who attend the examination are eligible for refund of examination fee.
  • All candidates who have given the confirmation to receive their refund to the account from which they have made the application fee payment, need not fill these details and hence, this will not be visible for them.
  • Only those candidates who have not opted for refund to their fee paid account as above should provide the details of Beneficiary Account in which they wish to receive the refund viz. Beneficiary Name, Account Number and IFSC Code in the Online Application.
  • Candidates may give their consent for sharing the scores obtained by them in RRB exams with other Ministries/Departments/ PSUs and Private organizations, for recruitment in their organizations.

Changes in the Online Application Form – RRB JE 2019

a) After final submission of ONLINE application, in case the candidates wish to make minor changes to correct inadvertent errors in the application, the correction of data other than RRB, email and mobile number can be done by paying the modification fee of Rs.100/- (Non-Refundable). The modification fee shall be applicable to all candidates including fee concession categories and this fee is not refundable for any

b) Inthecase of acandidate modifying his communityfrom SC/STto UR or OBC, he will have to pay the difference in examination fee e., Rs.250/- in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to do so, his modified application will not be accepted.

c) Similarly, if a candidate is switching from Ex.SM/PwBD/Female/Transgender to UR/OBC Non.Ex.SM/Non PwBD/ Male etc., he will have to pay the difference in examination fee i.e., Rs.250/- in addition to the modification fee. In case of failure to do so, his modified application will not be

d) The modification to the registration and application details can be done twice only.

e) CAUTION: Candidates who wish to modify their application, they are advised to do the same sufficiently well in advance of the closing date and time of the CEN. In case, due to last minute congestion, if the modifications attempt fails at any stage, and the modification carried out have not been saved or not submitted in time, the earlier information furnished in the application shall be considered and no correspondence on this subject shall be entertained.

f) The RRB, email id and mobile number cannot be changed.
