PROBLEMS ON MENSURATION-HOW TO SERIES
Hi Bankersdaily Aspirants,
How is your preparation going on?Friends this is the most important Days ,we had waited almost one year for this IBPS Exams which is finally going to be held soon.Put your Cent Percent Efficiency to ace the exam.
Friends today we are going to look into the topic Mensuration.As you all know IBPS Exams are becoming Tougher & Tougher year by year.And in Mensuration topic they are asking Questions based on Relationship & Combined with two geometrical figures.Today in this Article Let us see the Questions Based on Relationships.
1)If the length & breadth of a rectangle is increased 10% and 20% respectively,then by what percent does the area of that rectangle increase?
Given that the length & breadth of the rectangle increased by 10% and 20%,
Let us consider the Length be 20 Metre and Breadth be 10 Metre
Then the Area=20*10=200 sq.m.
Therefore,
The Length is increased by 10% & Breadth is increased by 20%
Length is increased by 10%=10% of 20=2
Length =22 Metre
Breadth in increased by 20%=20% of 10=2
Breadth=12 Metre
Increased Area=264 sq.m
Therefore Percentage increase in area=264-200/200 *100
=64*100/200
Increased Percent in Area=32%
Alternate Method:
Friends by solving these kind of problem in this method consumes more time.So, to reduce the time consumption use this alternate method
Do you remember in Profit & Loss Topic we use a formula x+y+xy/100 when there is consecutive Profit or Loss
Let us use the same concept here,
Here the Percentage increase,
=10+20+200/100
=30+2
Increased Area=32%
Friends I think this method will help you to reduce the time.
2)The radius of Cirucular wheel is 5.25Metre.How many revolutions will it make in travelling 99Km?
Distance to be travelled 12Km=99*1000=99000Metre
Radius of the wheel=5.25 Metre.=21/4Metre
Circumference of the Wheel=2∏r
=2*22/7*21/4
=33M
Therefore when 33M is travelled the wheel makes 1 revolution.
Therefore for 99Km it revolutes=99000/33=3000 Revolution
Will you Practice this Question by Yourself:
1)The diameter of the driving wheel of a bus in 140cm.How many revlutions per minute must the wheel make in order to keep a speed of 66 km per hour?
3)The Cord is in the form of a square enclosing an area of 44 cm².If the same cord is bend into a circle,then find the area of that circle?
Given that,
The Area of the Square=44cm²
Perimeter of the square=4√44 cm
Perimeter of the Square =Circumference of the Circle
4√44=2∏r
r=4√44/2*∏
Therefore the area of the Circle=∏r²
=∏*(4√44/2*∏)²
=4*44*7/22
=56 cm²
Friends we had seen only 3 patterns of question in mensuration topic,we will next higher level of questions in the next article
