Q: Whether AADHAR is mandatory to Apply for the IBPS RRB Scale I and Office Assistants and other Scale Exams?

All the applicants and constituents are hereby informed that providing AADHAR number or AADHAR Enrolment number in the application, for RRBs-CWE-VI, is optional.

In view of the same we request our applicants and constituents to refer to this notification and make a note of the same for making online application /registration.

Important Notice Regarding Aadhar for IBPS RRB Exams

 

Q1 : I am a Resident of X state , will I be able to apply for the exam to attend from another state ?

You can choose to write the exam from any state , but the prerequisite of the exam is that , the candidate should know the local language of the state in which they are applying. Also there will be a language proficiency test at the end of the interview to decide the result of the candidate. The candidate has to definitely clear the language proficiency test and it is mandatory to so.

Conditions :

  • Candidates who have already studied the language of the State in standard VIII or any level above standard VIII in Government recognized Boards of Education/ School or having any certificate to the effect for standard VII or any level above standard VIII would be considered proficient in that local language.
  • Where the candidate does not meet the aforesaid requirement in local language at the time of selection, he will be given a time of six months from the date of joining to acquire the proficiency. This period can be extended by the Boards of RRBs within the framework of the rules and provided that such extension should not be beyond the probation period.

Q2 : Can you please specify the date of the examination ?

IBPS has already released the tentative dates for the IBPS RRB Office Assistants and Scale I officers.

IBPS RRB Officers Scale I :

Preliminary Examination :

9th , 10th , 16th September 2017 *

Mains Examination :

5th November 2017

IBPS RRB Office Assistants :

Preliminary Examinations :

17th , 23rd and 24th September 2017 *

Mains Examination :

12th November 2017

* Prelims – 16th Spetember & Mains – 24th September 2017 will be the exam dates if it is required.

Q3 : Can a candidate apply for all the exams provided in the IBPS RRB Notifications ?
No. Candidates can apply for both IBPS RRB Office Assistants and IBPS RRB Officer Scale I. But a candidate cannot apply for all the Officers Scale posts. A candidate can apply for only one post in the Officer cadre. Also to apply for the other Scale positions , one needs to be an experienced candidate and possess the necessary experience to attend the exams.

Q4 : What is the age limit restriction to apply for the different posts in IBPS RRB Exams ?

For Officer Scale –  III ( Senior Manager) – Above 21 Years – Below 40 Years i.e Candidates could not have been born earlier than 03.07.1977 and later than 30.06.1996 (Both Date Inclusive)

For Officer Scale – II ( Manager) – Above 21 Years – Below 32 Years i.e Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1985 and later than 30.06.1996 ( Both Date Inclusive)

For Officer Scale – I ( Assistant Manager ) – Above 18 Years – Below 30 Years i.e Candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.07.1987 and later than 30.06.1999 (  Both Date Inclusive)
For Office Assistant ( Multipurpose) – Between 18 Years and 28 Years i.e Candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.07.1989 and later than 01.07.1999 ( Both Date Inclusive)
* This maximum age limit is applicable only for the General category candidates. For other categories relaxation in age is applicable.

Q8 : What is the structure of the preliminary examination of IBPS Office Assistant and IBPS RRR Officer Scale I ?

Both examination have two sections Reasoning ability and Quantitative Aptitude / Numerical Ability and each section consists of 40 questions each and totally there will be 80 questions. The duration of the exam is 45 minutes.

 Q10 : What is the penalty for the wrong answers ?
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.
Q11 : How can a candidate apply for the exams ?
A candidate can apply for the posts specified in the IBPS RRB notification through online mode through the links that will be specified in the IBPS website.
A candidate can apply for the Post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) and can also apply for the Post of Officer.
However a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for Officer Scale -I or Scale-II or Scale-III.
Candidates have to apply separately and pay fees / intimation charges separately for each post. Candidates can apply online only from 24 .07 .2017 to 14 .08 .2017 and no other mode of application will be accepted.
Q12 : Should I submit the OBC Certificates while applying for the IBPS RRB Posts ?
No , It’s not needed during the time of applying. It’s needed only during the interview and at the time of verification of documents.
  • For Scale I , Scale II , Scale III Officers : If a candidate is shortlisted for the interview , the candidate is required to submit copies of necessary certificates along with OBC certificates.
  • For Office Assistants ( Multipurpose ) : Candidates are required to submit copies of necessary certificates along with OBC certificate at the time of verification of documents on or before the date of joining in their respective RRB’s.
