TN TRB Teachers Eligibility Test Notification 2019 – TNTET

Dear Bankersdaily Aspirants,

Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) invites applications for Teacher Eligibility Test, Paper I and Paper II for the year 2019 from the eligible candidates in Tamil Nadu.

Eligible and Interested candidates are advised to read the notification related details carefully and apply on or before 15th March 2019.


Important Dates – TNTET 2019 Recruitment 

Commencement of submission of online Application: 28.02.2019

Last date for submission of online Application: 15.03.2019

TN TET – Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility to Write TNTET (As per GO (MS) No 70, School Education (MS) department dated 12.04.2018) has been detailed below.

Minimum Educational Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-I (for classes I-V).

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Or

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,).

Note: The candidates who have passed D.T.Ed., /D.Ele.Ed., from States other than Tamil Nadu should submit evaluation certificate for such qualifications.


Training to be undergone:

A person who has acquired the qualification of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.,), from any NCTE recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V, provided the person so appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within 2 years of such appointment as primary teacher.(As per NCTE notification dated 28.06.2018).

A person with D.Ed., (Special Education) or B.Ed., (Special Education) qualification shall undergo, after appointment, an NCTE recognized 6 months special programme in Elementary Education;

In case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.Ed., (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered. (as per para 2 NCTE notification dated 23.08.2010).


Minimum Qualifications to write TNTET Paper-II (for classes VI-VIII).

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Or

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

Or

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations.

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

Or

Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed./B.Sc. Ed.

Or

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of B.Ed. (Special Education).

Or

Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. programme, recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET. Moreover, as per existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11.02.2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET.


Note: The candidates not having the prescribed qualifications shall not be eligible for appearing TNTET.

A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification amended from time to time shall be eligible for appearing in the TET.

The candidates should satisfy their eligibility before applying. They should be personally responsible in case they are not eligible to apply as per the eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that, if a candidate has been allowed to appear for TET, it does not imply that the eligibility of the candidate has been verified. It does not vest any right to appointment of the candidate after passing the examination.

  • Number of questions: 150 Multiple Choice Questions
  • Duration of Examination: 3 Hours

Note:-

  1. Child Development and pedagogy will focus on Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 6 – 11 years.
  2. Language I will focus on the proficiencies related to the Medium of Instruction. The candidate must choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl. No. (ii) above in Paper-I table. For recruitment, process candidates shall be eligible for the vacancies in the concerned medium only
  3. Language II English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  4. Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.
  5. The questions in the TET Paper I will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes I – V but their difficulty level as well as linkages will be up to the Secondary Stage.

Note:-

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on  Educational Psychology of Teaching and Learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 Years.
  2. Language-I will focus on the proficiencies related to the medium of instruction. The candidate has to choose any one of the languages mentioned in Sl. No.(ii) above in Paper II table. For the recruitment process, the candidate shall be considered for the vacancies in the concerned medium only.
  3. Language II – English will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
  4. Mathematics and Science / Social Science will focus on the concepts. Problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects.
  5. The questions in the test Paper-II will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the State for Classes VI-VIII but their difficulty level, as well as linkages, will be up to the Senior Secondary (Higher Secondary) Stage.

TNTET 2019 – Examination Fees

The Examination fee is Rs. 500/- for all the candidates except SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability.

For SC, SCA, ST and Person with Disability Candidates, the examination fee is Rs. 250/-.

Since the examination fee is different for various categories, candidates are advised to enter the correct Community / Person with Disability category. Once the payment is made, it will not be refunded.

Online Payment: Net banking/Credit Card / Debit Card will only be accepted. OFFLINE PAYMENT MODE IS NOT ENTERTAINED.

The candidates, who want to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II, should pay separately for both.


Written Exam Call Letter / Hall Ticket

The date, time and center for the Written Examination will be indicated in the Hall Ticket. The Hall Tickets for the eligible candidates will be uploaded by the TRB in its official website.

The candidates are advised to refer the TRB website for details (http://www.trb.tn.nic.in). No written communication will be sent to the candidate.
